You most definitely do not have to do this. People tried to tie it to good luck and certain religions but it's really not needed. Especially when people tend to do it around kids
@@preityp691 We have weird traditions too like Suhagrat which is extremely sexual in nature, and most marital rapes happen then. Then the priest chantthe vows which basically tells the bride to submit to her husband and ask for his permission from now onwards for everything, and the groom just gets away with "protecting" the wife. There is also this tradition somewhere in South India where the bride and her parents have to BEG the groom to stay and get married to the bride. This takes place as a fun role play but still weird. All traditions are so patriarchal and sexist and india is not different 🤷
@@rajatmajoka7478 it's different in "suhagrat" there is nobody in the room except for the couple. N the reason I said I'm grateful to be an Indian was that we Indians most of the time do not express love publically. I'm aware of weird traditions in India thought. And u can't just say people in south r less inhuman...the things which u told about begging, it may happen in less parts but south parts of India r polite n humble, there r many good things about them
@@preityp691 I never talked about being humane or inhumane, traditions are a part of human life but we cannot deny the deep patriarchal nature of most traditions we have. And the south one, I was talking about Kashi Yatra which is a ceremony in Tamil/Kannada weddings. It is again a very patriarchal ceremony even though it is something that people enjoy (like most ceremonies)
@@preityp691 About Suhagraat, even if it is "different" as you say, since people are not around, most of the marital rape cases happen then (again doesn't happen always but happens in large numbers in our country). Also you said we don't have sexual ceremonies but this ceremony is definitely sexual since everyone prepares the bed for the groom and bride with rose petals 🙃 Also you would understand what I am talking about when I say Suhagrat is similar when you google the history of Garter Toss and how it was originally carried out.
Damned, I had no idea about this tradition. For a moment I thought it was underwear 🤣 and I was like man how skilled is this guy to remove underwear by mouth 🤣🤣🤣
because the younger generation has become very soft, yet they air their dirty laundry out on social media. really makes no sense why they'd be shy to do this, im doing this in 2 days somewhat like this cause im not very creative or good at dancing lol
@@Off_The_Rail I don't think it's shyness. It's probably the fact it's a pretty sexist practice and the younger generation don't like that sort of thing.
Isn’t it embrassing, I can’t imagine my parents being in the room 🤣
Same tho 😂😭
“We got kids here”
**continues with sexual innuendo with music and dancing**

@Claire Alderson exactly, and its just for fun, it’s supposed to be a happy day
It's supposed to be fun lol Garter toss is very common at weddings. To each their own when it comes down to personalities.

😂😂😂

Maybe after the wedding
Will y’all be doing this at your wedding? I feel like it’d be impossible for me.😭
Nope I am not. We can do that on the honeymoon not in front of my family 💀💀💀😭
@@meilanikailyn8009 same here. My bf wants to do it.😬

Why are people so sensitive about this? Like take a joke.. its your husband doing that, not a stranger lol
