Hah...many Oh Wows is the usual response after hearing an 8 year old child absolutely kill this great song...and make it her own. Even since this age she was arranging these songs to the style she wanted to sing. You shall find out that this young lady is a Prodigy...phenom, or whatever you wish to call her. Great reaction SuzzyQ.
As you continue you will find she can do anything and do it great...even her own originals you will get there and be amazed.
Gloomy Sunday, at 7 years of age, was where she sounded so much like Billie Holiday it's scary.
Makes you believe in reincarnation.

You should also go back to her first audition where she sings "Gloomy Sunday" by Billie Holiday, then "Bang, Bang" by Nancy Sinatra. In fact, you would have fun going back to the very first couple times she ever recorded in a professional sound studio. She was SIX years old! There are two videos of her doing this -- one where she sings "Hurt" and another where she sings "I Who Have Nothing." Like I said, she was 6 in both and the first time she was every in a real recording studio. Her excitement and thrill are just super-cute to watch, and her voice and hand gestures, even then, are absolutely amazing!

This performance was the cream, but it was a mere formality. When she sang "Bang, Bang" (amazing performance) the week before in the semifinals, The Judges, the Contestants, and the audiences, both studio and at home all knew the contest was over and they were just going through the motions until she was crowned here in the finals.

Thanks for the wonderful third reaction of Angelina's in the first public appearances, Suzzy, this is the first and it is incredible for her very young age and for the security he shows in what was still the final of her first public event. Seeing her sing in this Talent, one realizes that she has never had hesitations or fears, the only moment when she returned as a child is when they declared her winner with about 46% of the votes, that she let herself go with tears of emotion. ❤️ ❤️
She sang Summertime many more times and each subsequent version has a different flavor, but they are all incredible.
In this other version, 2 years later, I think she herself asked the orchestra to slow down the music and she applies modulations and bass tones in a different way. She has some bodily attitudes that she has not normally used in other versions and her voice is also very clear because the instruments of the orchestra remain in the background and are absolutely not invasive.

Angelina was 8 for this performance which was in the final round for Norway's Got Talent in 2014. Angelina got 46% of the votes from the top 9 competitors to win the 500,000 kroner ($80,000). When asked what she would do with the prize money, Angelina said she wanted to give it to the poor children and indeed most of it was donated. Angelina says she goes into another world when she sings, a world of unending happiness and she has the talent to take us there. What surprises me the most about Angelina's repertoire is how much american music with its giant superstars is spread around the world, and in Norway in particular.
She makes herself all her arrangements, which is difficult to believe, despite the fact that it is true.
Jazz has always been to Angelina her bread and butter.

Angelina is one of the most addictive singers I have ever listened to, & one of the very few, that can pull you right into the song, making you feel, every word, every note, & every emotion. ❤️💙 I always have this feeling that Angelina is not only channeling some of these late great singers, but that they also pass through her, when she is singing their song ❤️💙 A rare beauty, in every sense of the word ❤️💙 Whether you are a believer in reincarnation or not, I find it very intriguing that Lou Rawls, the American Jazz & blues singer legend, died, the same day Angelina is born 😊 Loved your reaction!!!

Just a few weeks after this performance, she sang "What a Difference a Day Makes" on a (different) Norwegian TV show. ruclips.net/video/ZSfgCIGd7k4/видео.html That song was popularized by Dinah Washington, and you can (IMO) hear her influence in Angelina's vocal style both in that song and this one. She definitely was not emulating Ella Fitzgerald in this one ("Summertime", I mean) - even though the version by Ella and Louis Armstrong from 1958 was definitely the basis of the musical arrangement she was using here. (At about 3:43 in this reaction video, you can see Angelina sing something off-mic: she is echoing an "ad lib" that Louis sang at that same point in the song. It's something like, "Don't you say, oh". Neat. :)

She did both songs such justice. Besides her love of jazz, Adelle is the one artist that she's done covers on quite a bit. She also did sky and rolling in the deep when she was 6yrs old and did another Adelle song at a concert at 13yrs old. Can't remember the name of that song. But yeah, she is simply an amazingly gifted artist at such a young age I'm just so proud of her for being signed to a major record label and already released her first hit from that record label, all at 14yrs young. I feel like a proud parent 💖💖
