    This is pretty well done!
    - SR doesn't actually say start with PD & go clockwise during overview, I think, until end of SR/LOLA
    - President stated as owning "majority", but that's not strictly required (majority is usually > half)
    - 7:25 is misstated as Sell OR Buy OR pass (can sell any number then buy 1)
    - 7:47 says company needs to have operated once, but this isn't required in Chesapeake (only no sales in 1st SR)

Also, privates can be sold into companies for half to double the face value, not $1 to double.

You did not show the board when discussing routes. I think it would help someone trying to learn the game to see the track so they understand what routes you are running.

^ This, it would have been very helpful to see the board and what you where taking about during this segment. I assume this was an error during editing the video as what was shown on the video did not make much sense?

I had the same trouble. I had to pause the video at 19:26 and take a screen shot to help understand the two train routes described. Green Spring is at map location C5 with the green tile & a PLE station marker and an empty station marker city also contained on it. There is a 2-Train route that goes from it to the left Red Off Board Area in Ohio. And a second 3-Train route that runs from Green Spring directed to the right through DC and into Baltimore (blocked from going through Baltimore by the B&O station marker). Note that if you choose to use the Red Off Board area in your route it must be a start or stop revenue point for that route.. On your routes you do not have to stop/start at your station though--it just needs to be part of it somewhere along the route.
The Revenue Tracker isn't shown either but if you can look at your copy and see that for a $200 total rev the payout is $20 per share since there are 10 shares that make up 100% of the company. If you placed a marker at the "20" box on the tracker it will tell you for 1 share you get 20, 2 you get 40 ...6 you get 120.

Starting at about 19:00 I think you missed a video cut addition. The audio doesn't match at all what you are talking about until you come back on at about 22:00.

      Yeah, this is pretty crucial!

I thought something was wrong here. You moved away from the board as you described the train routes the operating round.

Yeah, this was pretty much what I came for this video for - I thought I had some weird video lag going on...

Great Job!! Really well done Chris! I can see this getting heaps of views and referred to a lot over the years as a great "here's how to play" resource.

I'm preparing a learning game of 18Ches as an intro to the 18xx in my local group and this is the perfect video to get the rules straight. Thank you so much !

Excellent! I just had this week a lot of thinking: how to introduce new players to 18XX, the choice of the game was clear, just there wasn‘t any great video rules introduction - thanks Cris and keep coming the great content!

A good video, except for the editing issue. When you are talking about how routes run and paying out versus keeping the money, your video is showing the company charter, not the map or the market. I think you just added the wrong video clip for that audio segment.

Maybe there is a separate video covering running trains and dividends period. If that sounds helpful, let me know!

@@GameAllNiteShow As a short addendum to the video, I think it would be a great addition to have a couple of examples!

We 've played only 1846 in my group, like 3 or 4 times. Is there a big diference in terms of simplicity between 46 and Chesapeake ? They look very simiar to me. Looking to purchase another one and I would like something different. I have been looking at Chesapeake and 21Moon (for the totally different theme)

Thanks for the primer! I just got this game and am excited to dive into it. Also, like the poker chips you show at about 2:00 in. If you have a link, where did you get them?

They are Brybelly Eclipse (look on Amazon) but I also like the set on Board Game Geek

Hi, thx for the video, I have one question tho: In min 14:50 when a company is operating for first time, is mandatory to lay the track before u place the first token, or can you place the token and skip the track laying to avoid having a legal route and have to buy a train?

    • @GameAllNiteShow
      @GameAllNiteShow  3 года назад +1

You can do the second. Track laying is optional

  • @Nnomadd

On the setup, what side of the board do we use ?

Either one, the differences are merely esthetic!
