I suppose I don't understand how do Looks tokens get burned or used up? Like I understand people can swap them for other tokens like USDC and stuff on the open market but what do Looks even buy or get used for?

Buy ETH, Staking, Governance? I recommend reading the whitepaper. The idea is just passive income because the fees from NFT trading comes in the form of looks.
