Don’t expect teammates to help you on tdm, that’s why is challenging because you have to do everything yourself, like always! 🤣 tdm is the clutch factor every time your team dies before you and you’re the last man standing to carry them. Amazing games though Icy! 🔥🔥 Need Mooore!!
TDM is the most classic game mode since cs 1.6 and earlier, as well as half life thats why it has its own place in our hearts. But instead of control or koth where you got tons of lives to spend and throw your life away so fast! at times without even thinking.. gow’s tdm instead is very limited on respawns, you get 15 only for your entire team and not for you personally, they aren’t yours! Keep that in mind!! rather than the more typical or classical other worldly games type of tdm where you get one single spawn per round. Because the way this specific game mode is built, you have to play this game in a certain way. Which is be protective of others or be a good teammate and help out, play it smart, play for pw, and don’t hurry or you’ll get punshied by a camper or worse two campers.. ooorrr maybe even three! Even though you have to play this game mode like it’s real life Chess! Like for example you don’t just push through mid all by yourself into an open area - „unless you have your teammates with you..” - with 4 enemies spotting you and ready to blast you off the face of the Earth with the lancer or gnasher or boom.. It doesn’t work that way, right? Like for some it’s meant to be control instead and you rush to capture that non-existing ring. Lol. Then you get punished, likewise your whole team gets punished for your own stupidity. That’s what makes it special. Chess baby!! 😅✌🏼

tdm takes a lot of patience. i'm usually the guy running around getting killed, that's why i switched to control. most people playing tdm are too concerned with their k/d ratios and will secret man and play super slow
Dude i said the same thing that tdm should have random spawn locations because the game is waaaay too campy. There was a event that gow5 had called tdm blitz and that was the perfect mode for tdm cause the spawns would always be random

@@francisferguson69 secret meaning is used in comp when you know numbers, 3 dead , you have map control, 4th guy is probably secret meaning a hill or power weapon spawn, used a lot for obj game types,
camping really only happens in tdm/execution because you can easily spawn trap and camp them out

i was tdm only in gears 3, then in gears 4 i started as tdm only, then migrated to escalation only because of camping. in gears 5 i was tdm and then switched to control after all the camping. it's been a problem since gears 4.

I always knew you can spot weapons in Gears 5. You just have to turn the option on in the settings.
I never got into TDM until recently. I started playing it in a groups sweat privates. It's all about map control and having to make plays as a team to take positioning, because the spawn doesn't change unless you force it too.
The problem with tdm is that playing with randoms is never like that. It's all would be one man armies who've never heard of support fire and charge into every situation like they're Rambo.
solid gameplay dude! Out of curiosity what is your opinion and the overall community's opinion of using mouse and keyboard on gears? I've been playing gears for a long time and i feel like i'll never go back to console and controller due to how smooth and fun the gameplay is with pc and mouse and keyboard, especially against hyper bouncing
Can’t speak for Icy, but it’s definitely a huge advantage over controller. I think the general consensus is that they should keep it in the game, but get rid of the forced crossplay, and obviously keep it out of the (now nonexistent) competitive scene

And I don't blame you about to TDM moments in this game. I only do it for the Competitive Model parts, then I done. I'm more entertained with the FFA, Control and 2v2 Gnasher moments. You also do 2v2 Gnasher modes sometimes?
My "plan" in tdm always was to take pressure on the spawn.
Of course it is not easy to do.

It’s more than the game mode itself… it’s mainly the boring corner humping players that never do anything! I say the same, most players just play pathetic, slow and do absolutely nothing. That’s probably the only reason I rage for every fking thing, I feel like I stay doing all the work, always pushing, always being the aggressive one.

I was just thinking this. There should be more maps, it feels like I'm playing the same 4 maps all the time. They have all the Gears 4 maps but won't release them in Gears 5 for some reason. I know this because of Team Doubles.

Personally bro, I think TDM could've been done better, they honestly should do it like execution where you have a hill spawn so that way it forces people to actually push up. But obviously the amount of time to win off a cap should be extended due to respawns, this is just my thoughts though. 🤔

I have crossplay switched off in the xbox settings and I'm still matched with PC players. It's like in COD, Playstation players can switch off crossplay, but you can't on xbox. It's so frustrating playing against ppl that have an advantage. Nothing against PC players, just give me an option to switch them off!

Icy I am not at your level but I am above average and find the same issue with TDM. As a solo player you have less control because of power weapons winning the rounds with more influence than control modes. In control modes you have more time, more chances to make moves. Every weapon your teammates give up is like 3-5 free kills with average or below average players not bullying or pushing up on vulnerable enemies with power weapons on them.
Don't play this mode too much in my opinion, the mode rewards campers, especially three stack campers. You'll be robbed of comeback opportunities because you'll be overwhelmed unless your team is doing the same shit the other team does, or does what you do which is push

I'll try and put TDM in some way that may help you. Kills are everything in TDM. It doesn't mean much in control unless they are vital kills in certain situations in control bcuz of OBJ. Think if a kill in tdm as an automatic 13.3 points of obj ; as long as you win the first two rounds and run it. People will throw their life away in control to get rid of a power weapon because kills arent obj. In TDM players are way more cautious and "campy". They play the slow easier kill. Try and think of playing for 5000 in cash for whoever had the most kills, but the condition being also having the least deaths. So if you don't meet both requirements, nobody wins the 5000. TDM imo is broken but I hope if anything this helps you to understand y alot of ur teammates weren't as aggressive as u expected. Love ur vids bro keep it up
The objective of TDM should be to finish off the other team not winning by running the clock out because you have more lives or whatever you’re saying. People did that in gears 4 because they were more concern of their K/D ratio and ranking up...
I’ve literally played TDM matches and ended the game with 15 deaths and 3 kills and got chewed out by teammates who are proud of their 2 death and 4 kills (camp kills I mean). Like I tell everyone, go fishing if you like to camp and wait for kills on TDM...
@@imartinist I totally understand ur pain. this is what happens and why we have a fluctuation of good and bad experiences in TDM. I think we both can agree we have experienced an evolution in TDM where it was pure and aggressive to get to the win first. now there are often games that when a team is up by 3 spawns, you don't see them anymore bcuz time and leverage is on their side. Now that being said there are teams who are pure kill assassins and say forget the timeout and other things. this is why TDM is so hard to really break down to one "type of how you should play it". TDM is up. it is down. it is left. it is right. it is kill. it is don't kill. Really just have to play off of the vibes ur teammates are giving u as well as the opposing squad. There is no right or wrong answer here. Was trying to narrow down the general play of the mode compared to obj based.
@@imartinist that wasn't what I was saying at all. was just trying to clear up the differences in play. gamers will naturally take the ez way out. TDM was intended as u said but grew into something different and spontaneous at times. Trust me when I say I go for the kill most of the time if it makes since and I am not a camper. Hopefully the other response I left to your other comment clears that up.
@CoCoA PuFfS I would understand if everyone had their own separate lives why a teammate might not help or push but that’s not the case. Not helping is purely not helping. It only benefits your k/d ratio, not your team or your skills.

This is why I have zero games played on TDM it’s so fucking boring. People just camp. Also Icy marking weapons is an Enable/Disable setting you must have it turned off.

i think we would enjoy it more if you complained less about the game. We like just positive attitudes towards the game. Gears have always had flaws whether gnasher, lag, movement. we adapt and play the game regardless of how bad it can get because it’s like no other game. We love you as a player and respect the time you take to do this.

I think the ugliness of Gears 5 happens when everyone is using Lancers. You know that whole you feel in your gut when that happens. Basically making the game not fun anymore when your trying to use the Gnasher only ...

PC ruins gears. Literally makes the game unplayable. Dudes hit full spreads even when they shoot 10 feet over your head yet console players shoot pointblank and do zero damage.
