Lionel Richie's All NIght Long and Hello and Donna Summers Hard for the Money were displayed alot on the early days of Music Television. Whitney Houston arrived on the charts in 1985. @@johnd5931 hell nah that’s some 50s and 60s shit this wasn’t that dam old
@@tjay6803 I think you quoted the wrong person. New Edition definitely did use drum beats and wasn't real music as the OP implied.
@@johnd5931 and ur tripping real music is drum sticks and new edition used the beat machines this is the 80s wtf r u talm bout😂
@@tjay6803 And I quote my earlier comment "They used drum machines to create beats." I literally said what you said. Drum machines are not real drums.
Damn, times have changed man.
😔
agiftedrighter.com OKAY?????
Seemed like a more simpler time.
Seriously
Black R&B music will always be remembered we started music 🗣💯🖤🖤✊🏾
That's probably the most ignorant thing I've read in awhile
New Edition keeps their music going hard
I love this type of music so much, innocent times, noticing in that time the clothes looks real colorfull, makes you want to be young again
Facts
These were far from innocent times. These kids came from some rough as projects. The 80s was high murder rates high gang banging hiv n crack
This were not innocent times, wtf ?
@@MikeLaRock88 can't lie though I wish we could have some of those times back
@@cosmosadorabilis7677 it might not be in the ghetto projects or hood what they call it. But elsewhere was...not like now days with smartphones kids see very unpleasant stuff here.
its crazy how hip hop r&b started its crazy how it is now
Clinton Dezeurn I love the 90's and 2000's but the modern day shit is horrible Biggie
Leanna underwood guess Kendrick J cole Tyler gambino Joyner Logic and Chance are horrible
Good song. Brings back memories.nothin like the eighties...pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pure bliss
Way to rep Boston. As a Bostonian myself, you guys are the biggest hip-hop inspiration from this city. The 80s were just different also these guys went to my local high school 😂
Decades later and Ralph's rap verse still goes hard. Lmao.
Nicanor Mercado word!!!!
😎 it down when u 👀 something crazy😂😂😂
hi nicanor!
Fax🔥
I know right. I wish more Rap out today was like Ralph's instead of the vulgar Nicki Minaj or Lil Wayne
I was in 5th grade when this came out in 1984. Cosby show premiered also in 1984. Michael Jackson Thriller was on the top of the chart for so many weeks from 1983-1984. Lionel Richie's All NIght Long and Hello and Donna Summers Hard for the Money were displayed alot on the early days of Music Television. Whitney Houston arrived on the charts in 1985. All the kids were moon walking or break dancing and it wasn't considered rebellious nor counter culture. Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Kool in the Gang, Irene Cara, Tina Turner, Sade, Kool and the Gang, Prince, Pointer Sisters... list goes on and on. The image of Black America in the 80s portrayed in the media were generally positive. What happened?
MTV won't play black artist
😱 u took it back i was 10 when this song came out
NWA blew up
@@oholm09 MTV was cable TV. People make it sound like 80s was void of Black People on TV in America. Music Videos were played over the air without paying extra at least where I was living in Chicago Burbs.
What a time to be alive!
Ralph is so expressive.
Facts
So buy he can sing tho!

Moana Disne
I love this kind of music
Moana Disney same
I'm 12 3/4 and finna be 13 and love this music more
Moana Disney facts!!!
So do I
I was 12 when this song was released. I listened to it intently each time it played on the radio, with one purpose, to get Ralph's rap down pat. Don't get me wrong I love this song, btw! It always brings me back to the days of playing out in front of our house, riding Big Wheels around!
Whenever I play this on my DJ set up at my house when there is a party, I would grab the mic and rap that part in a high pitched voice. The embarrassed look on my oldest daughter's face while her little brother and sister watch and laugh...🤣🤣🤣priceless! While my wife is laughs hysterically.
So beautiful song and video.!! Thank for sharing
Had this on repeat all weekend
When you notice that Algee Smith did this exact walk at 1:07 in the mini series. Great attention to detail BET! 👍🏾
