  • This is a common area of confusion when solving equations (I include myself in that); why was my solution wrong? Often it is due to using the squaring operation which introduces a new solution that is not valid for the original equation. So always remember to check at the end! :)

    Question:
    Find the unknowns x and y that belong to Real numbers
    2-=[ (x+yi) ÷ ²(1-i) ]+[ (x-yi) ÷ ²(1-i) ]
    .But the )² is to the right of the 1-i

    I love to see these visually. Plot y=x and y=4+sqrt(2x) and they only cross once at x=8 😃
