- Hey everyone, welcome back to another Mental Motors video! Took a little time off for my wedding and honeymoon, but now we're back in action.
Last year I went up to Maryland with my good friend Mike to buy a car I've always dreamed of owning, a C6 Corvette Grand Sport. I had planned on using this trip to try to kickstart my channel with a big vlog, but unfortunately I accidentally had my camera in the wrong settings and a majority of the videos were unusable... Oof. Thankfully the GoPro's had no such issues!
For this video, I just wanted to really throw together the video we got driving the Tail of the Dragon. No commentary, no big plot, nothing like that. Just pure, uninterrupted driving on one of America's best roads.

lol first time I heard the scrape after driving the C6 GS out of the dealer lot I thought I messed up the front lip. Turns out it's even in the manual to not worry about the airdam, it's almost designed to scrape just to teach drivers to be careful with the actual bumper
That's wild that it's in the manual lol I never knew that! All my Corvette friends laughed when I was worrying about it at first.. Glad to know it's designed to be beat up
I take my C6 Grand sport down there every year.
These are my favorite kind of videos. Clean and simple. Gorgeous views and that Grand Sport.
Appreciate it! I hope to bring my TT Viper back up to that area soon 🙏
@@mentalmotors935 That would be awesome!
One of my favorite Vettes....nice video
I definitely agree! And thank you sir! I really appreciate the compliment.
Was this October or November?
sick video
Much love bro 🙏
Beautiful roads. Where is this?
It’s the Tail of the Dragon in the Smoky mountains
Why you goin so slow
It was my first time on the Tail and was not familiar with the road, plus my front tires were under steering on hard turning. Was not optimal conditions to push it
@@mentalmotors935 Here I was going to give you shit for driving like you're 75 but glad you kept it smart. My 1st thought was I bet those tires were cold. Nice car. I'd love to have one but personally I drive an under powered RSX with suspension and chassis mods that let me push the car 100%, plus its manual. Its fun, great in twisties but slow everywhere else! I do miss a V8 & RWD some days!
I'd love to see more videos of the car as you progress.
@@mentalmotors935 I've driven a couple of cars on the TOTD, and my C6 GS is less than ideal for that road. The HP and gearing for the GS is better suited on an actual race track. If you want to enjoy your GS to its maximum level, I'd recommend taking it to VIR for a HDPE (high performance driving event). My last one was sponsored by First Settlers Region Porsche Club. They always do an excellent job, and are well prepared to accommodate drivers of all levels. Your Corvette is designed to stretch its legs, which the TOTD does not allow but the full course at VIR will. Go for it!
@@GeezersSi So what I'm hearing is this road is perfect for my RSX? 😁
