  • I intentionally did not research functionality of DaVinci before using it because I wanted to see how easy it would be for me to pick it up coming from Premiere. Kind of a long video, but maybe helpful to someone out there! Spoiler: I did have to look up a few things during the video because I was getting no-where!

Bro, watch some short basic how-to videos, it will help. In the beginning you're on the cut page tab. Go to the bottom of the screen and click the edit page and you will be in familiar territory

Yep, I have done that since this video. I was very intentionally not watching any help videos before shooting this because I wanted to see how intuitive it would be to use as a complete beginner with no context.

@typicalthrill I gotchya... so how is it coming along? I will NEVER go back to Adobe, period. I am investing in Black Magic for my editing and streaming and studio needs. I use Affinity Photo, Design and Publishing for photo work, layout and publishing needs.

@@TimotheosEnterprisesMedia I really like it! Still feeling my way around, but I can tell there is a lot it can do that I haven't discovered yet. Watching lots of videos to help me improve, and I don't see any reason to move back to Premiere. I've used Blender as a video editor before as well. It works, but even more of a learning curve than DaVinci.

@typicalthrill if you are familiar with and used to the node based work flow, then you are a good step ahead... I have trouble mastering that.
