Nobara's return felt forced, purely for plot convenience. Her condition was left in the air for over 100 chapters, with no foreshadowing of her comeback. Then, outta nowhere, she wakes up just in time to help yuji deliver the final blow to sukuna. TWO PACK OF ASS

You could see it in the art. Go back and read shibuya and compare it to the final shinjuku art. The art was amazing in shibuya. It was very dirty and gritty but clearly detailed and time went into it. In shinjuku the consistency of the art fell off hard. Far far less shading and detailed art. We only got decent art in the double spreads which were thankfully still very good.

Not gonna lie, I was defending Gege saying: "let him cook, it's just weekly reading experience, let the story conclude" and oh boy it has indeed concluded. The level of disappointment, missed opportunities is compared to Game of thrones season 8 (aka the worst season in tv history that destroyed the brand and forever prevented people from re-watching). It's clear gege wanted to end the story as quick as possible, I don't know whether Shonen Jump forced him to end on a specific date (like it did with Bleach, remember it's business after all, deadlines, contracts etc. and other series are about to take the missing spot). Something must have happened during the last one month break, the pacing was absolutely bonkers: one fight, another fight, let's go, we don't have time, timeskip, the end lol ;) The writing in the last stretch of the chapters was kindergarten level. Omg culling games, 10 gigantic barriers, Yorozu added a rule that allows to exit colonies and the players maybe will kill civilians for points, lol nope it's irrelevant, we got Gojo back, one month preparation, how are you feeling Gojo.... nope, time skip let's fight, Omg Kenjaku the "mastermind" the merger, the theme "optimizing cursed energy or eliminating cursed energy" my plan will continue lol nope: Kenjaku's dead, got one-shotted after comedy sketch, Omg the USA is capturing sorcerers there will be conflict lol nope: in the 270 "we're gonna rescue kidnapped people by USA", Omg Nobara's back after missing for more than half of the story, how are you feeling Noba.... lol nope, not a single panel, time skip, Omg culling game is still on 10 barriers, will Tengen barriers fall? It means the curses will spread all over the world what are we going to do lol nope: Gakuganji "don't worry, you're still young" and creme de la creme: yuta in gojo's body, what will happen after 5 minutes? kenjaku's technique burned out after domain clash, what will happen? we killed Sukuna, 3 pages "I'm you" let's go, there's no time, we're doing time skip, "we need to save Yuta", lol Yuta is alive and better than ever "somehow through my connection with Rika my consciousness was able to come back to my body, by the way Rika used reversed cursed technique to maintain my body" and Kusakabe "Lol, Kenjaku probably was using some kind of barrier techniques in his brain", "peak writing" reminds me of "somehow palpatine returned", Why the f*ck you introduced these all concepts, make big deal of Kenjaku's ability just to resolve it in a stupid "we're gotta handle this" and "everything turned out ok" What was a point of yuta in gojo's body? btw, the more I look back the more I'm noticing the characters and their abilities are just introduced in the last moment to resolve the plot problems (and don't remind me of binding vow, which became dogsh*t plot conveniences). Gojo's inside the prison realm, don't worry Tengen happen to have "the back of prison realm" how convenient, the person who Megumi saved has the ablility to release Gojo, and she's a friend because we got 2 pages of her backstory, how convenient. Kenjaku has anti-gravity technique which saves him from Yuki's black hole, how convenient. Ui Ui has the ability to teleport but he can even teleport souls, twice a month so we can explain our power-ups (why specifically twice? We don't even have the explanation of his technique, he only says lol I can switch "content within containers") how convenient. Sukuna's "improptu binding vows" were able to recover his domain in full power but the "drawback" is he can maintain it for"only" 99 seconds, how convenient, yeah truly the drawback of all times. Nobara happens to be absent for half of the story just to strike sukuna's finger at the right time, how convenient. Todo's absent for half of the story just to come back at perfect moment, how convenient, even his binding vows make his boogie-woogie actually stronger, and I can go on and on. If there is no continuation I give the story weak 7/10. And the Kenjaku's plan/merger was the friends we made along the way.

Naruto's entire plot contradicts its themes in so many god awful ways.
I think bleach thematically is very good, so are its characters. But much like JJK, got flack for its last arc heavily.

i noticed jjk will be terrible ironically at its best arc. the shibuya incident. why? because jjk was supposed to be a story about slowly discovering more and more of sukuna fingers via multiple battles. but lo and behold yuji suddenly fed like what... 10 fingers at once? shortening and rushing the story.

Then we go to the Shibuya incident and all the sudden half the characters die. The surviving characters go through depression. We get some complicated storyline about how kenjo is actually the father or mother of itadori And choso It felt like it was all crammed way too much. All of that could have been spread out into like three arcs

About the Nobara thing and the entire concept of chekhov's gun, there was in point in introducing Arata if Gege didn't plan for her comeback, especially with the way the story played out. Gege left the chekhov's gun dragged out for way too long it wouldn't make sense to not give any explicit mentions of her status for over 100 chapters if the outcome is that she's really dead.
Besides Gege had a very obvious pattern with the way her writes other characters deaths: they're all spelled out in crayon, so the natural conclusion to how Nobara's status was handled is that she's actually alive. If Nobara was meant to be dead then there's no purpose in conviently introducing a character with a CT that halts injuries right at a moment when everyone thought she will die. And the "But Arata could've just said that to give Yuji hope" is just a lame excuse to cover for Gege back there because Todo literally fullfilled that purpose, he also mentions in an interview post shibuya that Arata could do something about her condition and that he will surely do his best. That alot of tiptoeing for a character that was 100% gonna die!!!
And let's say the whole Arata thing was indeed only to give Yuji hope to keep fighting , we could've seen his inner thoughts about it, or show a scene post shibuya where he delivers the news and Yuji actually acknowledges Nobara's death properly and the rest of the series actually shows the weight of her death, but what we actually got is that the impact of her supossed death had the energy of a wet fart, no one actually talks about her, that now how you treat a main character. So yeah the natural conclusion is that she's indeed alive, the only issue is that it happened too late.

As far as I'm concerned, Nobara was in a coma until her status was revealed. She never died. Nanami died unambiguously but Nobara didn't. Her flashback and the story just told me she was about to die. And Nita just confirmed she was still suspended in that state.
I was definitely a Nobara is alive believer but regardless I'm just pissed she wasn't there for over half of the series. I'd be pissed if she was never confirmed dead. I'd probably still be a little pissed if she wasn't confirmed dead till the end of the series but that or bringing her back earlier would've been my preference. Also notice how Nobara wasn't in Gojo's train station scene.
I'm mad about the time skips. Gojo was booted from the story in Shibuya and when we got to see him in the present again we time skipped to his final battle. And that month time skip was fed to us through flashbacks for what felt like no good reason. I thought we were gonna get some interesting unreliable narrator stuff but nah.
25:42 100%. I was ok when we just knew she was chasing a bag but after that scene all I'm thinking is "This predator should be in prison". She's the shit stain in the series like Mineta is for MHA, Yuri is for Spy x Family, Makoto is for Saiki K.
32:00 Also be so fr Toji is still a deadbeat and him caring a tiny a bit about his kid being sold to the clan he hates changes absolutely nothing. I had no qualms with that and that gave him zero brownie points in my eyes. One thing about his character I thought was interesting was that he was turning his life around when his wife was alive and gave up after she died.
I think Kejaku's death was lame. Takaba should've killed him that would've been more interesting lol.

IF this anime had a mid-2000s Toei budget, it would've NEVER gotten popular, the only reason it is popular is because of the stellar animation, the problem of the story being ass and making no sense doesn't matter when it's high octane visuals the entire time.
But you can't live on Prime your entire life without dying of lead poisoning you'll need something more substantial than just the insane levels of chemicals in it to live and JJK never had anything worthwhile in it, we learned this right after Shibuya where the entire premise of the story was lost in the self-sacrifice of Yuji to defeat a real evil.

The end of the Gojo vs. Sukuna fight should've gone like normal up until the part where everyone says Gojo won. I think instead of the new chapter starting with a flashback, it should start with Sukuna acting overly confident, making the audience question whether or not he has some last trick, but without actually revealing it yet. The audience believes that an injured Sukuna cannot bypass Gojo's Infinity. Sukuna glazes Gojo a little, saying that line, 'I'll never forget you,' and Gojo goes for the kill. Except Sukuna makes a quick hand sign, and a slash seems to cut through the panel, showing a surprised Gojo face. After that comes the little scene with him in the afterlife (I actually think this scene is pretty good), then it cuts to Gojo's body and all the explanations of what happened.
For me, that would be perfect because Gojo didn't lose when he let his guard down. Gojo lost when Sukuna made that Binding Vow that allowed him to use Cleave with just one hand sign. I think it would hit way harder than simply cutting to the dead body.

I saw a comment that said "JJK glazers would call you dumb for not reading bewteen the lines while they explain the story with their own headcanons" and the more I watch JJK the more I start to wonder how this series was ever called "peak shonen"
I think 20% of JJK’s downfall was the glazers well glazing this series soo much and acting like it’s the most tragic deep story ever
I remember seeing a bunch of character analysis’s videos on characters like Gojo or Geto and thinking that the characters were deep, only for me to watch the anime and starting to see that all this analysis is just people making shit up, don’t get me wrong they’re good analysis’s but man are they still making shit up
The most prominent example is Gojo being "lonely", we never see Gojo being lonely because he’s at the top, we do see that he does think of Geto fondly in JJK 0, but for the majority of the series we see that he enjoys beating curses
Same with people saying that Geto was soooo tragic only for him to become a mass murderer after his talk with Yuki which was like 2-3 minutes? It’s worse since I was really interested in how his character was going to get to this point but all I could think about when the village burned was how rushed and ass it was, same with his "friendship" (a little more than friendship) that he had with Gojo, I get they were close friends but we barely saw them interact apart from the basketball scene
The KFC breakup was glazed too, personally I was like "oh how sad, man this is disappointing"
People can have their headcanons and opinions but when they bring that to explain why the series is so good and revolutionary it just fall flat.

The first mess up was having Gojo exist, a powerful teacher that doesn't care about his job and hates on his elders. The most powerful man in history wins every battle with one shot and then walks off.
There's great characters with abilities that could have been interesting like hanami jogo And more these characters could have been great but the second they fight Gojo. They get whooped and made fun of these horribly field characters getting beaten by the same guy that has beat everybody else. Is it just annoying every battle that includes Gojo. Just ends with him destroying whatever sorcerer or curse is attacking him
Also going back to earlier I can't find any character interesting that has such a lazily developed plot. He's a teacher at a school that has other schools, but instead of making a character who specs his higher-ups to make it a more interesting rule following character (instead of the same generic rogue who can one shot) they just may get someone who blatantly disrespects everyone and pains. It is cool
I feel like I only need to use few words with this take. Why on this planet, Earth would gege make a character like mei mei My comment might get taken down if I say what she actually does. But why on Earth would they animate a scene of her and her own little brother flirting? This shouldn't exist. Who in the right mind even does that and then expects me to like the character. It's gross and shouldn't happen. Why on Earth has everyone just normalized it as a joke? It's weird why would anyone want that animated or in their series? Yes Gege did say that she's dead. Well not really i remember him saying that she's "in a bad place right now." Specifically.
But even if its true that he said that she was dead that does not confirm anything. Why?
Because why would the aurthor of the story just say, "oh yeah she's alive." Potentially spoiling the manga for her eventual return and getting rid of the shock factor he wants people to have? You never turst mangakas when they say these type of stuff about future events like character deaths because you dont know if they're lying not.
Even so he let her go out of the manga and made sure people thought she was gone because he also wanted that shock factor for when she did come back (even though i do think the writing there was bad because why bring her back at the like LAST chapters??)
He legit did that with every character, throwing everyone in the ring againts Sukuna.

Watched the anime season 1 two years ago, after the hype and thought it was pretty basic shounen. The concept are actually something i would enjoy but the execution was bad. Watch youtube videos hyping it up, how gege subverts expectations and troupes. One of the example is how nobara could handle herself and how well written the female characters were. As a female i value female representation in shounen. But what jjk did was like what should be the standard for female characters, they werent really special, especially after we know how all these female character were treated and sidelined in the manga. Bleach handled it way better. Watched season 2 when it released because i got spoiled each week and i loved the opening and liked gojo and the season 2 was so good that i started to read the manga. The whole time i thought "when will it finally get good?" Thought the aspect with american soldiers would be intresting but it went nowhere. I waited for the explanation about all the clans people talked about online only to find out "hey actually nobody knows anything about the clans and just deducting things from the breadcrums we are being feed." And before i knew the battle was over that was the final battle, manga is ending in 5 chapters and almost everyone is resurected for no reason, and vcharacters do almost not reflect on what happened makin it all lacking consequneces. Therefore the world building was terrible. Gege should develop concepts and fights and let the drawings and story hanle by someone else until he is skilled enough. For all the s*** and redcons naruto had, atleast we knew how the world somehow functioned and were shown it. While JJK talks about the world without showing it.

I only watched to 1:35 and here’s what I will say (I not watching a hour of this btw) Jujutsu Kaisen was promising in the beginning the show all the way up until was showing signs of greatness however Gege fucked it up by writing off his most important character and doing this battle royale thing where he makes everyone fight for 100 chapters until plot actually happens and then he does the plot twist that leads to the most disappointing endings ever in manga. So I think Jujutsu Kaisen showed potential to be genre defining but Gege was a bih about everything and screwed everything up and fired all his editors trying to write a good story for yes men background artists.

Ok Nobara , the issue isnt that she is back to life, which, yeah she is given a death scene and without any other sign , well narratively dead. And bringing dead in the story back at least should have a price.
Its terrible writing because he could have used, she was too far gone, and we made her a cursed doll, part cursed dull, some price? Seriously that could have ddone nothing with the dursed doll storyline if they thought they needed her technique and made her part cursed doll. Which he could have done or some cursed bit thats dark. If she is brought back with some dark consequences or, make her part cursed doll frankensteined?
Its the same why the people who straight up died in the last battle should have been at least mostly dead, it breaks the bit thats actually fun in the story, the edgy, you cant be edgy as hell and then just brin the dad back without consequences. That makes the end so bizarre, it undoes what the last bit has in engagement, the edgy rampage thats something , should have the dead , stay dead, if the were and part cursed doll nobara thats aproviate dark for an edgy, ok at the end all it had was the edgy and he did break that too?
And yeah the comedy fight was really good fleshing out the characters. The comedian and kenjaku explored as kinda bored mad scientist troll is really good, and them bonding is actually earned. Too bad kenjaku gets killed lackluster, but the comedy fight is amazing.
And agree if you add flashbacks before deaths, that makes it hard to invest if you , ok akame ga kill is selfaware and fun enough to not to have be taken too serious but JJK needed character explored before that there. Akame ga kill is fine wit htropey because, honestly ir is fun camp. JJK wants to be taken serious.
And i like the lawyer, but he should be ded which would fit with his he wants to atone character arc, and that gege is very edgy. And would fit.

I liked JJK as a whole. A solid 7/10 for me.
Had it been more fleshed out maybe I would rank it higher, but this is somewhat acceptable.
A few gripes I have with this are Kugisaki’s return (extremely poor writing choice, Akutami-sensei…come on!) and the lack of fleshing out the Culling Game. Had these two issues been taken care of then I would rank this as a 9/10.
    This manga wasn’t extremely trash.

2.68/10. No, it is not QUITE .69, because this stupid series is a TEASE in the worst kind of way.
Written by a disgruntled millennial that has grown up on too many video games. I should know - I, too, am a diagruntled millennial that has grown up on too many video games. More than once, you can see the moments a stupid decision was made, or when they realised 'shit, we fucked up, plop a post-factum explanation page in next chapter', when they didn't give a sshit abiut setup (Sukuna's fire attack being explained first page of the chapter by the narrator), or when they were straight-up trolling (final two chapters).
There is no 'story' - it just consisted of TikTok-ready moments (you can practically hear the bassy phonk track in the background and feel your eyes do the blurry-shaky-slowmo-transition) glued together by paaaaragraphs and paaaaaragraphs of contrived explanations that hope to either bash you over the head with so many words that you hopefully give up, or hope to make you feel smart and superior if you do manage to read it all. Case in point - Hakari's three-page chart if how his stupid domain works... HE CHEATS! THAT'S THE POINT.
Speaking of which, the power system is ass - it was showing as early as Gojo v Jogo. The Domain Expansion, a power-up that makes you attack hit for certain (some big deal that turned out to be - I don't think a single character of any importance died to a domain), and a guy who LITERALLY CANN'T BE HIT BY ANYTHING. Some doozy those would be to write. Either you break everything and go full stupid, or you find ways to make them inconsequential. Obviously, it was the latter, considering at the end Sukuna managed to barely kill anyone - the aforementioned 'untouchable' guy with the most ass-pulliest of ass-pull attacks, that stopped being relevant after its first use, because against anyone other than Gojo it's just a regular-ass slash - and that flatbread Choso. By the way, our OC completely brainwashed and indentured two people into being eternally devoted to him to the level of being ready to give their lives for him at any point. Whatever happened there, I wonder... Also, I would like to bring to your attention to the fact that Gojo can, apparently, shrink people. Oh, and that stupid 'back door to the Prison Realm in the Marianas Trench' bit. That was dumb as shit.
Oh, but 'It's just a battle manga, bro, you are reading too much into it, just turn your brain off, elitist'. Suuure, only Gege and his team, who all obvously barely cared what they were putting out as long as the sales were rolling in, were also INSISTANT on trying to be 'cutting edge' and 'subversive', and 'phylosophical', and 'deep', and 'complex', and 'meticulous'. There are literal (and very forgettable) PAGES UPON PAGES UPON PAGES of characters SITTING AROUND and discussing strategy and motivations. If youre gonna put so much effort into presenting your material in a certain way, then it should also be critiqued on that same merit. Or lack there of. But they were great hitting the right spot - the lowest common denominator.
Finally, the characters are barely characters, and, frankly, most of the designs are bland, AND for most characters, they barely changed at all. Nanami taking his jacket off for a little bit was the best we got. Gojo and Geto getting different drip through the timeskip was fine, I guess. Besides that, it was minimal stuff. MC Yuji got NOTHING. Meanwhile, in One Piece, Oda is coming up with new looks for the Strawhats every damn arc. Luffy's got, like, 34 different designs. Ichigo has 15 friggin transformations. Naruto would upgrade his wardrobe everyone once in a while. And that's just the MCs. I'm not saying go full shonen, but how about SOMETHING? Yuji got jack-shit. Just those stupid flesh-gloves, and a scar that makes it look like he's constantly sticking his tongue out on the side. That bland fuck Megumi got fuck-all. Besides the eyepatch, Nobara has been wearing the same uniform since she was introduced and got popped in Shibuya. She probably smells. The side-cast got more care. Stupid brainless Demon Slayer has more flair.
But that's just it. Gege and Co. barely gave a fuck and it shows. The manga had a great premise, and it was given zero love by its creators. Glad it's all over.

i could not disagree more on the take of gojo vs sukunas fight, gege was clearly going for an atmosphere where the reader is placed not as an omnipresent spectator, but as a sorcerer in the room spectating through all the screens, this is so crystal clear that i don't get how you missed it, the exposition dump helps the atmosphere build up since it reinforced how neither you nor the characters know what the hell it's going on, and you are as much on the edge of your seat as they are, you truly feel like you are there with them watching the fight, its one of the coolest aspects of the fight, speculating as things happen. Now im not saying is perfect, cause It's nowhere near perfect, it did it had some pacing problems with said exposition, it was handled poorly since a lot of it got spit out to the viewer at the same time, instead of fed drop by drop, but saying to remove ALL the exposition and put it before the fight? That's what's called missing the whole point that the writer what's going for. The ending of the fight is garbage, so we agree on that at least.

@@itsyaboi921 Finally someone else mentions it. Although, to be fair, there is so much bullcrap in this series, so much bullcrap IN THAT FIGHT ALONE, that it's easy to forget.
Yes, that mightiest of slashy-slashes was complete dogwater. They played it up throughout the whole Sukuna cycle, everyone was pissing their pants abiut it, but Sukuna never fired off a second one. It is purely a plot device for them to kill stupid Gojo off. The moment he died the slash became useless, because all those other scrubs can die to a regular old slash. It was also the reason why Sukuna's 'power level' was all up and down during the fight - his slashes can kill Mahoraga when he was at 12-15 fingers, now at 19 his dismantles kind of just scratch up regular-ish people's sides.
Can we also talk about how in the SAME STUPID FIGHT it turned out that Gojo can shrink people with his domain? Like, is that just him? Can anyone do that? Why didn't they both just get crused by the domain shrinking down to a basketball? What are domains then, anyway - is it just an area you cut off, or is it a separate mini-dimension? If so, why would Sukuna EVER remove his domain's barrier? And how does THAT work IF domains are separate dimensions? But they aren't, since Yuji literally punched his way into Mahito's? So it's just a physical barrier... SO THEN WHY CAN FUCKING GOJO FUCKING SHRINK PEOPLE?!

@@itsyaboi921 Apparently, since it Gota/Yujo did the same thing against Sukuna in their domain clash - they narated the crap out of how 'Yuta already knew Gojo's solution to Malevolent Shrine - the compressed domain blablabla' and there was a panel of them inside the shrunken down domain. So yes - for a bit there, TWICE, Sukuna and Gojo/Yuta got miniaturized to the size of action figures, I imagine.
You know, I had my doubts about the series ever since the first crack in the power system showed themselves was it revealed vs Jogo that Gojo is literally untouchable, and that domains give you a 'sure-hit' attack. Even back then I thought 'well, everything seems broken from the very get-go, so either these powers don't fit the scale of the series, or it's gonna be a bitch to write, cuz that's some buuuullsshit'. And when dit all atarted collapsing, I found new joy when Todo's vibraslap arm was introduced. So I started hoping for just more of that ridiculousness. The series was on the cusp of becoming 'so-bad-it's-good', but they insisted on it taking itself super-seriously till the very end, so they never managed to cut loose. It would have been a great finish if they just went all Guren Lagan / Fireforce - style at the end and leeeeeaaaaaned into the stupid. Sadly, it was not to be.

This shit is not about what Maki, Yuta, Kusakabe, Nobara, fucking Ui Ui, or Miguel think, its about the moral beacon and immoral beacon connecting. Yuji speaking to Sukuna and trying to get him to connect is Sukuna's entire thing, he's never tried connecting with someone and he's never wanted to because of how he was treated in his life early on. You can say you don't like the theme of empathy and connecting with another's humanity, but you can't say its mid or written badly. Ive had problems since Shibuya tbh its a great arc but even that arc had some problems, i personally did not like Gege bringing back Toji as this mindless killing machine and his interaction with Megumi literally doesnt matter and even when Megumi knows Gojo killed his father he just laughs its hot air and felt genuinely out of place. I think its a problem Gege has with his characters in general all too often the main cast is side lined for random side characters its so frustrating. Gojo being sealed felt pretty cheap imo because he fought like an idiot dude can just wipe Hanami out of existence but doesnt kill Jogo or Choso who are even less durable btw. He also waste his 100 seconds killing Mahitos transfigured humans when prior we are literally told several times when encountering a curse or curse user who uses summons you just kill the summoner and neg all the summons. Also how is he even tired after this if hes got rct around the clock the only thing he should be feeling is ct burnout and even then we have seen people recover it arguably sooner than 100 seconds and im not talking about gojo and sukuna healing their brains with rct. Yuji can point blank dodge a surprise attack from a special grade grasshopper but cant dodge Choso pulling the same move like what 30 minutes later? That absolute clown that gets dog walked by Nanami somehow is fully recovered and is able to put Megumi so close to death he summons Moharaga instead of just using rabbit escape or any other shikigami keep in mind all that happened was Megumi got stabbed i know he used his pseudo domain twice now and got scared by Toji but other than that the kid should be more than fine. Theres just too much coincidence and contrived circumstances in what most consider to be the peak arc of the series it was no wonder the fall off happened. I will say when i was reading Shibuya as it coming out i also thought it was peak but once we got everything after shibuya i went back to reread because genuinely no way the fall off was just this bad right? And i was correct jjk has always had these problems but prior to the culling games the art was better quality, Gege really simplified his already sketch style of art in the second half i really dont like it, the fights were more satisfying, the narrative was far less predictable, and the philosophy like in Mahito vs Yuji is so much deeper than surface level, its crazy he literally tried to recycle the whole i am you Yuji did against Mahito with Yuji vs Sukuna, so bs Mahito and Sukuna are genuinely very different you cant just copy paste i couldnt believe what i was reading when the sukuna fight was ending i was genuinely like no way hes just doing the same thing again?

But I'm pretty sure clashing with a Special Grade's domain and then having to fight Toji is going to put a LOT more strain on your body as opposed to just opening it, which already drains him plenty. You have great points but some I think are a bit harsh. Getos exact last words weren't really screw those monkeys and I get that you weren't specific to prove a point but it does just show that he had genuine connections with the other sorcerers. I think his parallel of being a father figure to his comrades or leader is quite simaler to Gojo too. I do admit him killing his parents was out there but I guess he had to make those sacrifices and he was willing to. Plus we don't know his relationship with them so we don't know if it was entirely positive. Gojos airport scene to most wasn't necessarily heaven but rather his own personal afterlife vision/void. All the characters shown there were dead. Other characters have different afterlife scenes/voids which don't represent heaven. I think it's rational to assume everyone's afterlife is unique thus the toji being in heaven critique isn't that solid. Toji is barely fleshed out like you said and it's sad that he essentially went through that character arc/cycle twice, I will say they do try and further elaborate on him by saying Toji didn't kill the zenin clan on a whim. Which isn't much but says something about his character. But it's ridiculous that we have to make excuses and put puzzle pieces to justify his writing. Same can be said about Gojos isolation I feel like if you read between the lines you can come to that same conclusion that he wanted to foster strong allies to avoid what happened with him and geto. That he didn't want to leave anyone behind and give that burden to solely one person yk. Also I think the month training arc would've really elevated the stories character writing but I've come to accept that the show itself tends to focus on the plot and the openings focus more on the relationships even tho it's brief scenes it truly does add an extra dimension. It's just a shame we don't see it in the actual show. I lowkey enjoyed jjk a lot tho, flaws and all I think it was quite a "hype" show and if u love a good fight scene and just wanna watch for fun then I'd recommend it. I mean yeah. It was a series where the author knew how to make cool as fuck fights, a cool power system, and characters who have aura. When it came to the story writing, JJK was painfully mid. It had some promise with the things Gege set up but we all (or at least you should have) knew Gege does not care about world building or fleshing shit out. People just kept getting blinded by their own ideas for what COULD happen rather than realizing what WAS happening. It's the same with the character relationships. The fans made up a lot of ideas for how close everyone was and then when Gege showed that the characters were not really that close, people lost their shit. I am referring to Gojo and how nobody seemed to care he died at the end. Gojo is NEVER showcased to be that close to anyone besides Yuta and Geto (and KINDA Yuji). "OH, what about Megumi" even that relationship is never shown to be more than "Gojo is his benefactor and teacher", but a lot of people filled in this whole lack of dynamic with "AH GOJO IS HIS FOSTER DAD" when that was never the case.

I strongly disagree about the exposition dump during Gojo vs Sukuna. They were both so evenly matched that if not for the frequent explanations it would be next to impossible to justify how one managed to secure an advantage over the other without it. Also the exposition gave much needed context regarding the high-level techniques and cunning tactics they were employing.

An alright video and I don't even like jjk anymore, but some of these criticisms are just straight ass. It's like everytime you see a plot twist "Oh that's bad writing". You're criticizing that mechamaru and Toji are reintroduced to the story and nobara being reintroduced like they are the same thing (Keep in mind I wanted her to return but I do not like how it was done). Mechamaru's "return" were dying messages to help his companions in a last ditch effort, we already known he can control his puppets remotely, so thinking he can impart some final words doesn't need to be foreshadowed to make sense. That's not a return. Toji is just killing machine as described in the story, again, not a return, because he only gains his last shred of humanity when he sees his son. So treating it like they are at ALL the same as Nobara is just dumb. They are still dead and the impact people felt from their deaths is still there. If you didn't notice Gojo's character arc about his loneliness as the strongest, I straight up just don't think you paid attention. It was set up in the flashback how gojo lost the only person he understood him and that's why he cares about geto so much. Because THEY together was the strongest, evidence is their last conversation before jjk 0. Geto had a slow descent because he had to grip with the fact that he WASN'T strong. Geto was jealous of Gojo's power and his refusal to use it for something more. It's one thing if you don't find it compelling or well executed, but to say it ain't there is just wrong. I straight up disagree that Hikari is mid, he's awesome, just because he's simple doesn't make him bad, so is toph from avatar and they are pretty much in the same boat. The fighting, I agree and also disagree, I agree that we don't need to see so many reactions, but to just walk through the action without understanding the nuance of what's happening in the fight is just dumb. We need the dialogue to understand why what's happening is crazy and to keep tabs on things that we aren't necessarily thinking about. The domain clash is more impressive with the explanation, the remote purple is more impressive and big brained with the explanation, the description of how the character's feel is also important Imagine if this was said for something like saitama vs garou or Hisoka vs Chrollo, it's just a dumb thing to say. Saying that Gege should just have skipped all the explanations and people should just watch the action without understanding anything is just a boneheaded comment. I don't care for your opinions on resurrection implying that those who want a character resurrected don't care about good writing as if it's always bad when it isn't, just makes you come off as a know it all, smartass. Also if you yourself admit that how Gojo was taken out was ass, then bringing him back WOULD make sense. Other than the stuff above, I more or less agree with everything else aside from how many times you think it's just pure plot armor or a lot of the nitpicking you do. Such as that a character can do something we haven't seen them do before is somehow just plot armor as if there's no logical explanation for it. One thing you should've mentioned is badly the power system is handled and how mid it really is. It only ever feels fully explored by like 4 characters and I am not a fan. Keep moving dude

thanks for the criticisms and for watching the vid however let me address some points u made🖤
mechamaru's return being dying messages doesnt invalidate the fact that he was brought back into the story when the story led u into thinking mahito killed him, meaning his death against mahito doesnt have the same emotional value in retrospect
toji being a killing machine doesnt invalidate the fact that the story brought his character back to give him another moment especially when u have that scene of him offing himself in front of megumi after finding out he didnt take the zenin name. his character was already concluded in the hidden inventory arc and the story came up with a random way that was never fleshed out in the entire story as a way to give him a moment with megumi which proves that death doesnt have too much meaning in jjk so theres no point in trying to take anyone's death too srsly bc of the possibility that they're gonna have another moment later in the story. the impact ppl feel from their deaths is not the same anymore bc that final conclusion is no longer a conclusion. i have already acknowledged in the video that technically speaking, they were not resurrected but im talking about from a character writing point of view and the finality of a character's last moments
if ur using jjk 0 as evidence, u are already burying yourself a hole to defend the story bc jjk 0 is a separate story with a chronology thats all over the place in relation to the overall plot. its very possible to read jjk from ch 1, or watch the anime and skip the movie. but lets be nice over here and pretend jjk 0 is an absolute requirement/prerequisite before watching jjk despite its clonky chronology, theres nothing in jjk 0 that tells or shows or makes the implication that gojo was lonely for being the strongest. these are merely interpretations from the readers without any concrete evidence. just bc other ppl dont quite understand u, that doesnt make u lonely bc u can still form genuine relationships and good bonds with others, so the logic of gojo losing geto isnt enough to give the implication that gojo was feeling lonely. an anime that does a much better job at showing a character who feels lonely for being too strong is one punch man. the story actually dives deep into saitamas feelings and his blank face and makes it clear to the audience that he feels isolated for not finding a worthy opponent. this is not done for gojo's character. im not saying the author has to hold my hand, but he needs to show me the road. unfortunately, gojo's character was not thoroughly explored throughout the series and was instead done in a way that was incredibly fast paced/
i never said hakari was a bad character, i just said he was mid. hes not bad nor good, hes just mid. he doesnt have too much depth to his character, he doesnt get as thoroughly fleshed out with the amount of screentime he has compared to other characters like takaba, higuruma, and yuji. and i never said he was a mid character due to the simplicity of his character. simple and complex doesnt automatically determine if a character is good or not.
u dont need the dialogue to understand what gojo and sukuna are doing is crazy. a story does not need to remind or do exposition dump to the readers to keep tabs on things they're not thinking about. a lot of times, stories can have preestablished rules or information that the readers can connect the dots to on their own without the story having to feed them the information. if the reader missed out on stuff bc things went over their head, or bc they couldnt keep tabs on what they shouldve been thinking, thats moreso the reader's problem and not the story. now unfortunately jjk is a series that doesnt properly flesh out its power system before its climactic points of the story, which is why u come to this situation where gege has to flesh out and explain whats going on with heavy exposition dumps during the middle of a climactic moment. i also provided 2 possible options for gege to make gojo vs sukuna much more tolerable: i said either flesh out the power system before the fight even begins so that the readers are able to put in the pieces by themselves OR just dont bother explaining it. and the reason why i said this was not a bad idea is bc gojo and sukuna are anomalies themselves. so having an exception for just these 2 characters and deciding to not give them explanations would fit with the nature of these 2 characters. both of my options leads to the readers making their own interpretations on whats going on, although the 2nd option obviously leads to much bigger interpretations, however i think this is much better than to horribly execute the pacing of the fight when gege simply couldve made an exception for gojo and sukuna. as a matter of fact, gege could write down what was happening in a bonus page to confirm the readers interpretations. just bc the explanations make it more "impressive" does not excuse the poor execution of the writing. if gege decided to have yuji gain the sudden strength to explode the entire galaxy by giving a 5 page essay trying to explain why and how he was able to do it, would that excuse the writing simply bc the explanation makes it much more impressive since the readers are able to understand the nuance and complexities of how yuji was able to perform such a feat? no it wouldnt bc the execution is terrible. ive never read saitama vs garou or hisoka vs chrollo but an example of a good fight that doesnt get interrupted by exposition dump, narration, and internal monologues on the powers is naruto vs sasuke. from the readers perspective, we understand everything there is to know about their powers and are simply seeing how these characters are using the established abilities in creative ways that dont require all that exposition. ofc jjk's power system is much more complex but thats not an excuse for gege to do horrible execution. and i never said ppl should watch the fight without understanding it. i said gege shouldve made it so that ppl would watch the fight and make their own conclusions on whats going on by interpreting the fights through its art
there is never a well written moment in a story where it convinces you or presents to the audience that a character is given a sendoff/conclusion with their death and then brings them back without any prior foreshadowing. if u have an example of a story that does this in a well written way, i would like to know
me thinking gojo's death was poorly executed does not equate to the story needing to bring him back. its like ripping a piece of paper into a million pieces to then try and glue it back hoping that the paper would be back to normal. once the damage has been done, its too late
as for the power system, i didnt even care too much if it was poorly written or not bc at a certain point, it was useless in trying to actually get invested into it when the execution was going to be trash. but i did kinda go over how the writing was bad for the power system when i was talking about gojo vs sukuna and sukuna vs everybody.
something having a logical explanation does not excuse asspulls or bad writing for that matter. if i wrote a story in a world with no aliens, and 80 chapters later i have an alien teleport to planet earth, writing an explanation afterwards wouldnt fix the bad writing when there is 0 setup
if u barely read any of this, thats ok just leaving it out

@@RealistDY I read what you had to say but it's still wrong. And they are wrong because they ARE dead. Mechamaru DID die, so there was no misdirection. What you're saying happened DID NOT HAPPEN. Toji's story DID conclude. It's like getting angry that Jiraiya left a message on the frog and Naruto reflects on his words when talking with pain Or nighteye with Mirio. Mechamaru's last message was to the classmates he formed a bond with and just serves as another conclusion. So i don't understand why that makes you think his other just gets cheapened in the process. You think that Asuma's resurrection in the great ninja war took away from his death and shikamaru's character? If so, I don't know what to tell you because that's just not true. Again Toji getting brought back was a decision that stripped of all of his being away. That moment was not meant to develop his character because he isn't actually revived, it was reinforcing what was established at the end of the flashback, that he does love his son and megumi is the reason he retained his humanity. It's not resurrection, so treating it like it is just a false equivalency, which means it's just a bad take.
You straight up did not read what I said about jjk 0, I didn't use it as evidence. I said the last conversation BEFORE Jjk 0, as in the end of the flashback. I didn't say jjk 0 itself, and it was one piece of evidence. Other evidence includes his motivations, he hated the jjk world because it punished people with potential, who wished for people attain strength similar to him, it's laid out pretty clearly that he wants his students to approach and understand him the same way geto used to. which is why he never killed the higher ups, another piece of evidence is Gojo's very power which doesn't let anyone who isn't on his level approach him. The infinity represents his relationship with other people, he's untouchable in all ways to friend and foe. So once again, if you don't like it that's one thing, but it is there for reader's to find.
As for hikari, that's just personal preference, not every character needs to be multifaceted and dimensional, he has a good personality. He's like Kenpachi, Inosuke Leorio or Toph characters that aren't all that deep but with a good personality and characterization even if they are mostly static. Again this is just a personal opinion so pay it no mind, I just disagree.
Ok, the fighting, So to start you chose a very poor example of naruto vs sasuke, the power system of naruto is not only far simpler, but naruto and sasuke don't play with the fundamental principles of the power system the same way Gojo vs sukuna does. The domain expansion is a finishing move in the jjk world, so when they clash domains you'd think that's the end of the fight, without the explanation, how would you possibly know that infinite void gets destroyed from the outside because Malevolent shrine is a barrierless domain? That's an explanation that plays on the reader's expectations, but then when the NEXT domain hapoens, there's no way you're gonna know that gojo could shrink and expand his barrier ON TOP of turning it inside out. That's what I mean by "describing how impressive the actual action is". Those are the explanations i'm talking about, the ones that require intricate knowledge of the system. I guarantee you most people don't understand how the ring on maho's head works. That's required to express the level of mind games and tactics. NO ONE has ever used reverse cursed technique on their own technique to restore it so how would anyone know how absurd that sounds if it's not explained, Hxh does this all the time and the fights are compelling stuff. Your example of Yuji using a galaxy busting attack is another false equivalency because I'm not talking about flipping the power scaling on it's head, i'm talking about flipping the system and utilization on it's head. We as the audience know what the standard rules are, so understanding how the standard is changed is what makes it compelling. I already agreed that he could've inserted the commentary better, I disagreed with your recommendation to just look at the fighting and ignore all other context.
I don't what you watched or played, but a character in Shaman king, D.gray man and the trails series all do what you just described well. Hell even kakashi did this and was brought back to life in the pain arc. Also the reason I brought up you not liking his ending is because THAT'S WHY some may want him back not because "They don't care about stakes" maybe they want their character to be done justice. That's all that was meant to say, and you say him being brought back would mean it's with no explanation when there are avenues for him to be brought back, such as his head not being cut into a 4 by 4 and not seeing his decision at the airport (unless we did and I just forgot). I don't care whether he comes back or not but I disagree with your point painting people who DO want him back in a negative light.
To address your last point, that's an oxymoron, if there is a logical train of thought to an event in a story then that makes it not an asspull, it's also not an asspull if it's narratively earned as well. Maki's powerup is not an asspull. You can argue it's a retcon but it ain't an asspull. Yuji gaining new skills to fight sukuna isn't an asspull, Gojo surviving against toji when he is the new center of the jujutsu world, isn't an asspull. So that's just wrong, but that ain't even to say asspulls don't exist. It's just about understanding the distinctions and as for your example, That's just a terrible example, you realize that that's the plot of dragon ball right? lol. There's such a thing as mid series shake ups that change the landscape of a show as well. I get what you're trying to say, a story shouldn't be random, but it's about execution of an idea or retcon or shakeup to the landscape. Just because we aren't privy to all knowledge doesn't mean that when we're introduce to an idea suddenly means it's an automatically bad idea. I still think jjk is mid though, don't get it twisted it fell off precisely after shibuya, yes it was flawed before that yes, but these criticisms are not ones I agree with and it was good and entertaining to that point.

@@TrueReverse74 i already acknowledged that the characters died both in the video and in my comment so im not sure why ur trying to tell me these characters died when i have already acknowledged that. my point is going over ur head cause ur not even addressing my actual complaint for ur whole defense. the examples u provided with naruto and nighteye have 0 correlation with the criticisms i have bc jiraiya and nighteye's characters were not brought back again to have another moment. other characters acknowledging a dead character and their words is not the same thing as a dead character being brought back to have another conclusion when the story already concluded their character and had 0 foreshadowing that they would have the capacity to come back later in the story. u brought up edo tensei and edo tensei is one of the worst plot elements of naruto. it was fine in part 1 when orochimaru used it on hashirama and tobirama bc A) those 2 characters were never fleshed out and were pretty much NPCs in terms of the reader's emotional attachment towards them, and B) edo tensei was fleshed out as an ability that made them zombie like, so they werent actually them. this all changed in shippuden bc they started giving asuma and itachi actual character moments with other characters so the aspect of them being zombie like is completely stripped away bc now the story is actually giving these characters that already had a conclusion, agency to push for another conclusion when we already thought their characters were completely finished forever ago. if edo tensei made the characters zombie like for the whole entire show, then that would be perfectly fine and wouldnt cheapen their original deaths bc they literally dont even have the same personality. this is similar to toji's resurrection. if toji was a killing machine for the whole entire time, that wouldnt have cheapened his original death bc this means absolutely nothing for his character. but then the story decided to have toji come to his senses at the last moment and have him develop his character. so if u believe that itachi's reanimated corpse talking to sasuke, and toji talking to megumi were scenes that meant a lot for BOTH of their characters, then u urself have to acknowledge that the story brought their characters back for another conclusion, and that any time you see a character die in both of these series, u should always have doubt that they will never come back again. if u believe toji's conversation with megumi did not develop his character, then u believe that that scene means absolutely nothing bc the only thing that that scene did was develop toji into earning the satisfaction of knowing his son didnt adopt the zenin name.
gojo hating the jjk world is not evidence that he was feeling lonely. it has never been laid out in the story that gojo wanted his students to understand him. i already said in my video that gojo wanting his students to become strong was to take over the rotten jujutsu society bc he thought the higher ups were all scum, nothing in this makes the implication that he was feeling lonely. gojo's infinity is not implication that he was feeling lonely for being too strong. if the story wanted u to know that gojo's infinity represented his loneliness, the story did a horrible job bc theres nothing that implies that, so any interpretation that those elements represented him being lonely is headcannon bc theres no solid evidence to support that
i never said every character needs to be multifaceted and be fleshed out, but every good character needs to and hakari is just not one of those characters and thats perfectly fine. its fine if a character is mid and hakari is just one of those characters. neither bad nor good, hes just cool
i already said that naruto's power system isnt as complex as jjk, ur missing the point. the point is that a good fight shouldnt have to interrupt the pacing with exposition dumps, and jjk having a complex power system is not an excuse to let that slide. domain expansion is not a finishing move in the jjk world, this has been proven multiple times in the story. mahito's domain did not work on nanami, it didnt work on yuji. jogo's didnt work on gojo. higurumas didnt work on yuji. so from a reader's perspective, the idea of a domain expansion being the finishing move shouldnt be on the reader's mind bc the story has proven multiple times that just bc its a domain expansion, u shouldnt think thats the end of a fight. u keep saying how are the readers supposed to know and thats the whole point of interpreting something. nobodys answer would be right bc the story doesnt confirm it, however this would be able to create a lot of discussion and the readers would all have different ideas on whats happening in the fight. u also ignored me saying gege could literally write what happened in a bonus page and this would confirm ppl's interpretations, and the reason why i say this can work for gojo v sukuna is bc these two characters are considered the exception in their world. u can describe how impressive something is without having to explain it. u also ignored my other option on how they couldve properly fleshed out everything before the fight happened. my example of yuji using a galaxy busting attack serves my point bc it proves that having an explanation to show the intricacies of whats happening doesnt make things better. you said it yourself that the explanation made it more impressive, and u were using it to justify the writing which is why i used an extreme example to show that that logic is flawed. i also never said to ignore the context, i said the readers can make their own interpretations by looking at the art. thats not ignoring context, thats using whats visually depicted to make your own conclusions
never watched shaman king or d gray man but kakashi being brought back is one of the worst written scenes in naruto. this is another example ur providing that shows a series where death loses its emotional value. if i wanted to be petty, death in naruto became meaningless the moment neji and choji were confirmed they were alive in the sasuke retrieval arc even though the story depicted it as them dying. if we were to ignore this and pretend it never happened, the show does it again with pain having the ability to restore everyone back to life which came out of nowhere, bc kishimoto wanted ppl to feel a sense of loss for the villagers of the hidden leaf and feeling of closure for kakashi's character when in reality all of those feelings were manufactured bc nobody died and kakashi's character wasnt concluded. u keep bringing up examples and expect the argument to change when these examples u provide have the exact same flaws as jjk. ppl not enjoying the conclusion of gojo's character is a reason why some ppl want him back, not justification. i already pointed out in my previous reply, that once the damage has been done, u cant undo it. u cant just glue a torn sheet of paper and expect it to look good. ppl who genuinely wanted gojo would come back is proof that these ppl dont care about stakes, bc if they truly cared about stakes they wouldve accepted gojo's death whether or not they think the execution was bad. just bc something is poorly executed, that doesnt justify the story to dig another hole by bringing them back. gojo's death is supposed to give u a sense of loss from his fight with sukuna. that is whats at stake, gojo's life. so if the story is trying to convince the readers that gojo is having a sendoff, then the story completely failed in doing so bc ppl are now having doubt when the story never wanted u to have any doubt. this is an example of the boy who cried wolf. now the author loses trust from the readers and scenes that are supposed to impact the readers in a particular way is completely altered and being interpreted in ways that are not intended to be interpreted that way

@@TrueReverse74 logic does not determine if something is an asspull or not. asspulls can either make sense or not make sense. an asspull is when something happens in a story with 0 foreshadowing. that is what an asspull is. this works both ways, something can be foreshadowed with 0 explanation. just bc theres no explanation, does that make it an asspull? no, if it was properly foreshadowed, then by definition it is not an asspull. now that still wouldnt make things well written bc theres 0 explanation. ur addressing my last point as an oxymoron bc ur applying logic in the definition of asspull when the actual word doesnt consider the factor of there being a logical explanation. that is the whole point of the example i used with the aliens. just bc i was able to provide a logical explanation on why aliens existed, that doesnt excuse the fact that i implemented aliens in a story that doesnt have any aliens with absolutely 0 foreshadowing. this is ur own personal perspective that tries to define what is considered an asspull when the actual word itself isnt that. ur applying ur own criteria on what is considered an asspull when the actual definition defines it as the author pulling something out of thin air with no proper set up. an explanation is no good when there is 0 setup. now that i have provided the actual definition and criteria of an asspull, then yes, maki's powerup, yuji's abilities, gojo surviving against tojo are all considered asspulls. why? bc there is no proper setup for any of those. if gege dived deeper into how maki's heavenly restriction worked in relation to her sister, then its not an asspull. if gege fleshed out the 1 month training everyone had, fleshing out all of the powers and abilities they were working on before they had their final fight, its not an asspull. if gege added sprinkles that gojo was going to learn rct at a critical moment like death, then its not asspull. and u said that my example is pretty much the plot of dragon ball. what exactly is dragon ball supposed to do with this argument? dbz is a poorly written series with constant asspulls. dbz literally fits my example bc its a poorly written show, so im not sure if ur using this to counter my example or if ur using dbz to support my argument. i never said we needed to know all of the knowledge before we're introduced to a new idea. i said we needed sprinkles or hints. sprinkles/hints/breadcrumbs is not ALL knowledge, that is simply foreshadowing. u can either share ALL of the knowledge or SOME, but having NONE just leads to asspulls and jjk constantly shared NO knowledge for many elements of the story

@@RealistDY At this point it's a matter of preference so i'm not gonna argue with you further, You're just blatantly wrong about what an asspull is, an asspull in writing is a hastily fabricated or contrived plot twist, when there is a logical explanation for an event happening and can be reasonably justified within the plot that makes it NOT an asspull. Gear second ISN'T an asspull when luffy fought Cp9 because it can be reasonably justified that luffy can pump his blood even though that not something anyone ever thought he can do. That's what i'm trying to tell you, as for edo tensei, In no way shape or form did asuma's return, take away from his previous conclusion. That's a you problem and you aren't addressing what I'm saying. You're mindlessly spamming negative terms. If you honestly think Kakashi's return after pain invasion was terrible then you're just hating, that's all I can say to that. Because Kakashi made peace with his father and we continue to understand why he's been depressed for the entire series and he gained another conclusion with Obito. That's 2 great conclusions to 2 parts of his character. Symbolically he healed his events and both moments do an amazing job of helping us understand Kakashi's character. The events still happened and the effect on the characters still happened and that's what is important. There's nothing wrong with reinforcing the impact that a character has on others. Itachi is considered all the more brilliant of a character because of hid follow up with saauke, People appreciate what those moments for the characters who are alive. The reason I'm telling that them being used in the story after their death is because you seem to be under the impression that a character can only conclude once which is false. No Toji's 2nd death did not add to his character it REINFORCED WHAT WE KNEW ABOUT HIS CHARACTER. That is 2 different things but itachi's death did give sasuke a new perspective on things so it did add to itachi's character and no, I don't have doubts about another character's death just because somebody else got resurrected, that's such a bizarre thing to believe. No one thinks Ace or Whitebeard is coming back from death just because Pell survived it's nearly the same circumstance. I don't think the samurai are coming back just because luffy did. No one thinks Obito is coming back just because Orochimaru survived. If you have that expectation when the circumstances can't be repeated then again, that's a you problem. I've never had that problem. Also, If you don't wanna believe the signs of loneliness in Gojo, fine, I ain't gonna try to convince you, but the signs are there if you just pay attention.
Why you keep going back to hikari is beyond me, I said that it's personal preference and I find it funny that you said that "I never said that every character said that every character needs to be multifaceted" and then in the very next sentence you said they do. So you do think they need to be a nuanced take on the human condition to be a good character, that's why we agree to disagree.
I'm not going to go over the fights when I already told you, what I think. Not every twist in a battle is an asspull, and the author can afford to give us some explanation to further clarify what's happening, it happens in one punch man, it happens in HxH, it happens in Naruto, and yes it is better in those shows, I'm specifically denouncing when you said just to read through the action.
The point of me bringing up dragon ball, is that it did EXACTLY what you said would be bad in a story and is still a great story. An alien (Raditz) comes down to earth after like 200 chapters of martial arts tournaments and saving the world. Dragon ball is a great story with plenty of good to be had. There are good and bad ways to do resurrection and like I said in the first comment and you seem to think it is all bad so i'll tell you again. No it isn't and we can agree to disagree.

23:59 Alright you might be dumb here. The hidden inventory arc’s ending was the thing that shows us Gojo was lonely at the top lmao.
And 24:54 yeah this is just a dumb criticism, the characters are all in a cursed world where their actions are almost entirely forced upon them from the start and that nothing could’ve changed them as they were dealt with a “curse” at birth, Yuji literally talks about this and how next time he hopes Sukuna has others around to help him. This is a constant criticism among anime fans about anime villians but jesus, the manga literally tells us “yeah our curses are up to luck, what we become is forced on us. Let’s hope next time we have someone there to help us with it.”
Everyone effected by this theme: Geto, Gojo, Maki, Mai, Sukuna, Toji, Uraume.

Ngl, Gojo's death was in doubt because look what we had with Nobara, Nobara got a backstory chapter, got a death scene, had Yuji cry about her, Megumi implied she died, Gege said she died, and yet she's back. So yeah its dumb but it makes sense people hoped Gojo came back.

Also probably one of the only series which I can turn off my brain and just enjoy it from episode 1 to S2

The high points were crazy high and showed this series had a real potential for greatness. Unfortunately Gege didn’t have worldbuilding or character developing to flesh out the world of JJK and give it some depth high on his list of priorities. Shibuya was the best complete arc. Culling games was ehh but Gojo vs Sukuna built back up the momentum before fumbling in epic fashion. The shinjuku guantlet afterwards starts off neat but gets worse the longer it went on. 6/10 Gege when I catch you 😤
Edit: switched score from 7 to 6 upon rereading the series.

The inconsequential nature of the constant revives ruined most of the show for me. I absolutely agree with your opinion on Toji as a character as well.
The first season was great and pulled me into the show since it's rare to see a Shonen take itself and the themes of death seriously.
Then the shibuya arch came and the Geto reveal happened which killed most of the show for me. Geto was such a strong character that is actually relatable and then they just throw him away and exchange him for a cookie cutter "brain monster".
It was such a huge disappointment that I had trouble sticking to the end of the shibuya arch.
Mahito is also one of the weakest villains I've seen which is ironic considering how much presence Sukuna and Toji commanded on screen. This furthermore made the fights with Mahito seem inconsequential and sadly boring no matter how great the animation and fight scenes were.
Ultimately JJK disappointed me not because it's a bad show but moreso because it had such a strong start but turned out ultimately just meh.

Amazing video. Tell me, if Gege gave the seires another 100-200+ chs to develop the characters, world, power system, ECT, how good do you think the seires would be?
Also, isn't it weird that super popular battle Shonen tend to be rushed af? Why can't y'all be like my poor baby Undead Unluck and have like 50 mini arcs for developing its cast and world? Fuck VIZ for encouraging these mid ass best selling series by eliminating hidden gems because they're not selling fucking tens of millions 🤬 and just before its end at that!

    • @RealistDY
      @RealistDY  2 месяца назад +4

maybe not 200+ but gege should've added a lot more chapters especially before the shibuya arc. if he ended up fleshing out a bunch of characters, did actual setup, it wouldve been a lot better. also gege could've trimmed down a bunch of chapters where he would have characters fight NPCs. gege needed to find a good balance bc his pacing is often either too slow or too fast, but i feel like gege doesnt care if his writing is flawed or not, he just enjoys the element of surprise
and yea its kinda weird shonen be getting these underwhelming ass endings. somebody must have these mangakas family hostage or some sh** cause this is crazy 💀💀
