I said it once, and I'll say it again: the sound of those guitars were engraved in my DNA since I was 10. The Doors were a unique attempt to not bend to commercial interests, just to good rock and roll. They have withstood the test of time even though they didn't come out with a new album for almost 50 years.
@@ricklewis5804 I understand what he is playing is not Wild Child here obviously, I was just remarking how that is one of my favorite rock riffs of all time and his playing through out is amazing.
Simply awesome interview with a legend! Learning all the little thing and details of these guitar is priceless! Thank you very much again Joe and Mr. Robby Krieger! :)
Spanish Caravan great song . All Doors songs are great. Thank you.I love that video for Wild Child when there in the studio. Sunset Sound. Such a legendary place. Legendary guitarist . Thank you Robby. Nice guitars.
Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum Cheers, Joe. I had no idea that Gibson made only about a hundred of the 1954 Les Paul Black Beauty! Neil Young has one too. I always wanted one of these. The other great thing about Robby is that he is a great songwriter as well as being an extraordinary guitarist. All those songs he wrote for The Doors gave that band another perspective and fit so well with Morrison's songs.
Hi Monique, Thanks for watching and your comments.... actually Robby was referring to only about one hundred reissue Robby Krieger 54 Les Paul Black Beauties. I’m not sure how many actual 1954 Black Beauties were produced. More than a hundred I’m sure. Best....Joe
Cool video, we saw the Doors at the Boston Garden almost exactly 50 years ago ! My brother caught Jim Morrison's Budweiser can, Robby is still going ,like the Energizer bunny thank god .. He was probably playing his iconic SG that night...
Notice the head stock on the older Gibson's are much bigger way better than today's models if you can get your hands on any Gibson from the 60s snap it up they play beautiful.
The doors guitar was never fender?....tyvm for the guitar wizardry from the man himself....btw i love humbuckers and single coil....but personally fender is more fun for me and i play and respect both
hey every breath is a blessing call me for the chance to record asap we have alot to catch up and do before we cant move please call me asap re serious music with the living as a the norm -Sincerely Yours

I believe he deserve way more. But here where I come from is regarded as being a fantastic guitar player. I've always heard people praise him.
Of all time
I just adore this genius and I always will. He's such a gentle soul.

Robby Krieger is nothing but a GENIUS!
Fantastic... Robby still being being inspirational. Just a great band.
I love you Robby. Please stay with us next 100 years...
One of my favorite players from one of the great American bands. The slide on Moonlight Drive and Wild Child makes me air guitar uncontrollably
Love you guys ...two times. 👍😎🎸
Thanks Ed!!!!! Best, Joe
Never mentioned with the great rock guitarists....so innovative
The Doors music is timeless. As long as there is music you will hear Robby's guitar in the background. Great sound and timing.
I love that opening riff for "Wild Child" and his solo and playing on that tracking is amazing, those old SG's were great guitars.
Hi Sax... Me too.... Best, Joe
brotzmannsax
Not wild child. Caravan or Spanish Caravan.

Sorry, I obviously misunderstood you to be referring to what he was playing in the video.
What a musician.
The doors my favorite band no lie 🎶👌
One of the most tasteful and coolest guitarists of the 60's. Love Robbie's style and minimalism.
Saw Robby & his band in May 2016 at the Cabot Theater in Beverly Massachusetts...great night!!!
I love Robbie
Thnx Joe as always great to see the guy and actual guitars that were used to make that fantastic Doors music.
Thanks Steve..... Joe
He's a guitar player and song writing genius. Need I say anymore. Not an ounce of ego in his soul.

Great video...keep up the great authentic history...
One of the greatest guitarists ever! Robby Krieger is one of the most fluid of the psychedelic guitar stylists. His work is timeless.

Talk about historic guitars... damn. They are the sound of 60's ROCK.
Loved this interview, interviewer is great and can really see the enthusiasm. Makes the whole thing feel real. Great job
Thanks Tom....Joe
Excellent camera work
Why would anybody give this video a thumbs down? Kinda feel sorry for them!
Mono... Probably a troll that didn’t like me:) Thanks for watching and supporting our channel.... Joe
Those who gave thumbs down are sub humans
I wish Robbie would do a guitar lesson on Take it as it comes, my favorite doors riff :D!
Very cool.
What a legacy 😊

Awsome video love it
Love it!!!
The talk is enlightening but the picture is dark. I can barely see the outline of any guitar.
Sorry we couldn’t take the big lights with us. First time using these mini LED’s.Thanks for watching... Joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Still really cool though !!

Thanks Rambo... I like both too but I mostly had SG’s and L.P’s. Best.....Joe
Subtitulos en español. Serían de gran ayuda.
In the Doors promotional video for Break on Thru, you can see Robby playing a strange looking guitar.....anyone have info on that?
R.I.P Joe 👍👍
I have the lost SG
4:25 ok, so who was suppose to take the lights for the video 🤷🏻♂️
yes... we tried these small travel LED’s... Didn’t work well. Thanks for watching... Joe
Somewhere out there is Robbie’s stolen guitar lol. Whoever has it has no idea probably.
and in another 30, someone else will have it!
Joe... which DOOR songs did Robby Krieger sing on after Jim MORRISON DIED ?
I’ll have to call him and see. I don’t know. thanks
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum I think he and Ray shared that chore ?
I’ll try and ask him... Thanks again, Joe
@@montythepython7614 Thank you !
Doors were original.
Looks like Robbie took the Bigsby off...
Hi Marc... good eye... I’m guessing because he really only used it for slide. Thanks for watching... Joe
Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum He had it on through the entire Doors - maybe he will comment about when and why he elected to remove it.
I’ll try to find out. thanks
I love Robby and the Doors, but 😴😴😴
Great interview - terrible audio
Why is Robby so sad? 😟
hey every breath is a blessing call me for the chance to record asap we have alot to catch up and do before we cant move please call me asap re serious music with the living as a the norm -Sincerely Yours
A rock legend
$400.00 in 1966 was the equivalent of around $3,755.00 back then for that black Les Paul.
