7:30 LOL yess I'm Ojibwe and I've done sweat lodges before and they get so hot, I was warned to lay down if I got too hot before hand 😂 it works. Also the mud and medicines they use definitely do help, natural minerals LOL. it's nice to jump into some water after a sweat. 😂

Good to see you reconnecting to your Guachichil culture. Yes sweat lodges are used to cleanse the body of toxins and purify mind and soul. I'll add that meditation or chanting or prayers (maybe all) is typical of many Indigenous sweat lodge ceremonies from Central to North America. The heat, meditation (some times fainting) with the chanting may bring on visions to some people in the sweat. The visions are the ancestors responding.
What an awesome journey you went on. I can’t wait to see the statue you mentioned ❤️ and I hope one day I get the chance to take a similar journey.

QUESTION: Are the Guachichiles descendant's of the indigenous tribe of the Guanaches of the Canary Island of Tenerife? My great grandmother was Guachichile from Cienega de Mata, Aguascalientes and her ancestors were from Tenerife Canary Islands via documentation.
My ancestors are also from san louis potosi

Halfway through my first temazcal I did the same. I breathed as close to the ground so my nostrils didn’t feel like they were on fire. Meanwhile the teenage daughter of the shaman didn’t move anything other than her lips the entire time lmfao

So my grandfather is from Montana SLP and my grandmother is from Canada grande/Santa Catarina area is that the same area or people as Guachichil I’m trying to figure out my people too my grandfather was born in 1907 and my grandmother 1931 both of them from SLP my grandfather was very dark slim built man and he always told my tios we were nativos but I’m trying to find out exactly what, I still have some distant family down there but don’t have too much opportunity/ability to connect with them
