A story from about 40 years ago when a photographer with a camera not a cell phone wanted to take pictures of some of the kids on the res and they grouped up for the picture but then started waving their hands and the photographer went to reassure them that it wouldn't hurt and it wouldn't steal their soul to have a picture taken. And Uncle standing nearby came over and said "they know that but you left the lens cap on"

    Patrick, i like your vlog.
I'm a white person from Germany.
It helps me to understand better the problems indigenous people have in a white culture.
But sometimes i have to laugh so hard that my family thinks i'm totally crazy.
I like the sometimes very rough humor. It makes me think that my problems are mostly very small compared to the things native people have to deal with.
Over time i have learned to laugh about things that in former times would have me freaking out.
    Thank you!
    Stay safe all of you!👍😁

I am so glad I found your videos. They are wonderful. I laugh so much and it makes me miss my friends I grew up with. I was blessed to grow up in a town ( that I did not like because it was so small but so loved my friends) with a large number of indigenous friends. I still speak with many of them on a daily basis through text, email, and social media. I grew up in what was once called "Indian Teritory" in Oklahoma. Thank you making me smile and laugh and for teaching me many things that I can then pass on to my students.

Your channel has been such a gift! I’ve spent the last year diversifying the people I follow so that I can broaden my understanding of more cultures. I am a public school teacher in the United States and work to #DecolonizeEducation. Finding channels like yours to listen and celebrate BIPOC culture has been an important step in this challenging work.
I saw the Maori story you featured earlier this week and have already worked it into my lesson plans as a way to foster discussion in inclusion and respect.
I admire your wit and positivity. You’ve been a wonderful resource to better understand Native culture. My favorite lesson has been the roll of laughter and grace in moving forward to promote inclusivity. Thank you so much for your time and talents.
P.S. Jacob, you seem like such a sweet bear, much like my dear husband. And Patrick, your smile is just too adorable! Fan girl 🤗💜🤗
