  • A lot of us learners are eager to enhance speaking abilities when studying a foreign language. However, we often find that solely practicing speaking doesn't lead to substantial improvements in proficiency. The underlying reason is that achieving proficiency in speaking requires more than just speaking practice; it also demands a strong grasp of sentence construction skills. This video talks more about this topic.

    As an English person, right now, sat in my kitchen (in England) watching your video...I thought your English was flawless.
    You're using more big words than I do... ❤

    This is the explanation I was looking for. Because I was wondering why after two years of studying I can’t remember anything I learned and I can’t understand native speakers let alone speak. Thank you so much for this information because now I know that I’m not dumb 😂. I just need more input.

    감사합니다 쌤 😊.....I have actually seen improvement in my listening skills these days as a few days back, I watched a 한국어 영화 named SOUNDTRACK and could really understand almost everything and I was crying so much 🥹🤭. And I've been learning through your 동영상 since 1 year now (although I've been a learner since 2 yrs😅) and you have really helped me a lot.... please continue to teach the way you have been doing so perfectly, and I hope you'll keep a live class soon ( as my school is off so I'm free 😉😇) ❤❤❤ 진짜 감사합니다 🙏🙇‍♀️

    This is VERY true, I love hearing you speak about things like this because I just noticed that I do this. (Also is it okay if we play that game where we have to pick between choices, but both of the choices are bad, but one has to stand out more to us? It really helped me improve!😔)

    와 좋은 영상입니다! 빅키선생님 감사합니다. Recently, I started to play a pokemon game with the language set to Korean. It's probably not the best reading practice since there are so many made up words in the game lol but it is helping me to read a lot faster and because I am familiar with how the game works already I can use a lot of context to understand new words. It definitely feels like it's helping at least lol.

    I'm done watching, Thank you for the advice, for sure it helps a lot including me who is only self-studying and I am not surrounded of other learners so that in terms of speaking I felt slow due to not enough time of exposure but I also feel I am progressing little by little as of the moment. In terms of writing part, I just want to share that everyday I am writing my own journal in hangugeo and I don't know if it is strange that I took hour to compose a whole paragraph😂😂. Gladly, atleast now I know that writing can also upgrades speaking skill not just by practicing to speak all because of this. Thank you for the video and later on I am going to include it in my journal before I go tosleep, See you on the next lesson 선생님, 화이팅🙌.

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky

      You can check Korean podcasts available on RUclips at different levels as well as the reading and listening comprehension books designed for intermediate learners. Other than that, occasionally watching Korean movies or dramas with Korean subtitles turned on can also be helpful. It might be better to choose movies or dramas that cover everyday life topics rather than those with very difficult themes, like law, medicine etc :)

    정말 많은 도움이 조언이에요. 한국 친구들이 없어서 요즘 제가 ChatGPT한테서 도움을 많이 받았는데 듣기 능력 아직 그렇게 좋지 않아요. 그래서 개인적으로 팟캐스트를 필요한다고 생각해요. 저같이 초보가 아니면 중급 학생에게 어떤 걸 추천해 주시겠어요? 감사합니다!

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky

      맞아요, 팟캐스트가 정말 도움이 많이 되는 것 같아요. 유튜브에 다양한 레벨의 Korean Podcast 가 많이 있으니까 그런 영상들을 활용해보는 것도 좋을 것 같아요. 제 채널에도 몇 개 있어요 ^^ 아니면 중급 학생들을 위한 RC & LC 책들도 많아 있으니까 한번 검색해보세요 ^^ 그리고 가끔씩 한국 영화나 드라마를 한국어 자막을 켜놓고 보는 것도 도움이 되는 것 같아요. 너무 어려운 주제의 드라마 말고, 일상 생활의 주제를 담은 영화나 드라마가 공부하기 좋을 거예요. (I agree, podcasts are really helpful. There are plenty of Korean podcasts available on RUclips at different levels, so you can try out those videos. There are a few on my channel as well. You can also try reading and listening comprehension books designed for intermediate learners. Other than that, occasionally watching Korean movies or dramas with Korean subtitles turned on can also be helpful. 🇰🇷 Now the only thing I’m confused about is this… say I’m on the third round and I mess up, now I pass it to my opponent right but when he messes up do I start from the third round? Or do you always start from round 1 again if you mess up? 🤔

    저는 문제가 있어요. 제 말하기하고 듣기 실력이 많이 부족한 거 같아요. 한국인한테 한국말로 이야기해 보고 싶은데 문법 너무 신경이 많이 써서 안 하게 돼요. 그리고 내향적인(이 단어는 introvert 뜻이 맞죠?) 편이라서 무슨 주제를 이야기하는지 잘 모르겠어요. 제가 어떻게 해야 돼요? 조언을 해 주세요.

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky
      @KoreanwithMissVicky  Месяц назад +1

      그러면 먼저 writing 연습을 더 해보는게 어때요? 쓰기 연습을 할 때는 단어와 문법에 대해서 생각할 시간이 많기 때문에 나의 아웃풋 실력을 다듬기 좋은 것 같아요. 그러면서 점점 나의 문장 만들기 실력이 늘거고 그만큼 자신감도 늘겠죠? 결과적으로 speaking 도 좀 더 자신있게 할 수 있을 거예요 ^^ (How about practicing more writing first? When practicing writing, you have plenty of time to think about vocabulary and grammar, which makes it a great way to refine your output skills. As you gradually improve your ability to construct sentences, your confidence will grow as well! Ultimately, you'll also be able to speak with more confidence.)
