Great story. It did a wonderful job of encapsulating the general fears most people have about pursuing a romantic connection. Intresting situation when the MC (I don't think you named him) was in a sense unable to run away. Not, trapped, but had nothing to gain from leaving Juan and the cabin. He was forced to either let down his walls, trust, and grow as a person. Or return back to nothing but an empty existence. Not, that he couldn't have found that on his own. But, it was clear he had a lot of healing he need to resolve first. I appreciate the fact that while they found comfort in each other and the possibility of a connection before them. It wasn't instant romance or intimacy. That fear wasn't abandoned or discarded simply because of "lust" or "desire." That this was a new beginning. Not a certainty as portrayed in a fairytale.
Merry Christmas! This story hit way too close to home. I understand just how he feels like you just aren't enough for somebody to love and be a real human being. I always felt like I was never good enough to do anything right. This story really dragged up feelings I have never learned quite how to deal with. Thanks for sharing the story!
