Got a set of Big Blades and installed them in an Ibanez BTB 5-string. I also replaced the preamp with a Noll TCM-3 and added a passive tone control. Sounded amazing! Switched out the Big Blades for some Barts. Going back to the Big Blades. They are just fuller sounding with more growl and bark. The Barts are great pickups, but the Nordys are better. IMO.
I know this is an old comment but you may see this. I have a btb 676 from 2012/13. Really want to switch out the pickups and the pre amp. How difficult a job is it to do. I'm a welder fitters by trade so I'm fairly competent with hand tools. Cheers
Finally! Thats the term for my time with the big rig pups! They were kind of a let down until l sorted out my settings on my bass (skyline 5501, ash body/maple neck) and ehx battalion pre with a markbass ag1000 and 102 210 cab. The harder l leaned on them, the more they shined! Smooth but definitive fingering to hi fi slapping and all l had to do is move my balance control slightly from song to song. The set was funk and R&B and a little disco. Thanks for the help from nordstrand's call line. The skyline still has the lakland standard preamp. I'd like to try a bart 5.4???
Were these the Warm and Wooly Big Blades, or the Clean and Clear? I'd love to hear these pickups in Rickenbacker 4003 positions. That would be beefy as hell.
Been thinking about the very same thing in fact. I wonder whether the blades or the big splits will sound growlier gnarlier more aggressive thinking of rock
Man that Genzler Rig sounds great! And Both the pickup sets are Gnarly AF! Will be getting those big blades soon! But Big rigs will be in my next bass!
Since these guys wouldn't respond and didn't mention it in the info section, did anyone figure out if these were the clean and clear or the wild and wooly? That should have been provided as it is important.

I like the TONALITY of the first pickups...

The first pickups were the BigRigs.

Are the big blades noiseless?

I Love the big Rig's .

Stewr306 I went with the Big Blades.
@@Thebasshang What did you install them in?
Badass, Someday I will rathole away enough money from my wife to get my grubby little paws on these. Nice Vid.
What is up with the demons breathing into the microphone between riffs? Is it just my headphones? Geeze...
old guy made the hat nervous, couldn't get past the nervous playing, showed me very little.
The guy on the left is on coke during this, right?
Matt Miller That’s amazing!! Such an intelligent statement my friend. Really appreciate your input.
No, he prefers Dr. Pepper.
