      I've always loved the UI - it's the best part of the OS - it's way more intuitive and fluid than Android and designed to be used with just one hand. Unfortunately because you have to use finger-pokey Android apps for many things - Uber etc - that ruins the experience!

      It is VERY smooth to use especially for one hand use and pretty easy to learn. There is a free version of the OS available. Only Android App support and MS Exchange support for the mail app isnt free. It is mostly open source and every file on the system is accessable. Mostly only the paid things and the GUI are not open source. Anything else is.

    The fact that Sailfish Os/phone is still not available means that it's very difficult to get an Os to the mainstream. I will really like to see and use Sailfish Os and Huawei's NextOs.

      It's not actually anything to do with the kernel. I don't know how their compatibility layer works but it'd either be a virtual machine or just getting the Android userspace tools to run in a sandbox or something. I mean heck even windows could run Android apps before Microsoft killed off the Android subsystem

    I am very suspicious of all of the European-only phones and mobileOSes. I suspect that they must be doing something underneath that would be illegal (or at least carry serious liability issues) if sold in the USA.

    • @Banilla468
      @Banilla468 3 месяца назад +3

      Generally, that’s a hardware issue.
      EU has different cellular and broadband frequency standards. The antennae in European phones are built for that, not the US standards.
      If you bought an EU phone and shipped it to the states, it would work fine, just slow as hell and spotty at best.

    • @vulpo
      @vulpo 3 месяца назад

      @@Banilla468 Okay, but it's still suspicious. Nokia made itself the biggest phone maker on Earth by selling to the US market. These companies have been in business for years now, while totally refusing to sell to a huge market of potential American customers who are craving a phone to guarantee their privacy. It just doesn't add up.

    • @RaijinTheGreat

      EU does not have a different broadband, US does, the whole world and eu are on the same page, plus it plays no role after 4g and 5g and gsm and 3g are to be shutdown soon anyways
