Just started playing around with tint. This video should be one of the top tinting videos. Helped me so much on an 96-00 civic rear window. All 4 corners gave me trouble until I saw this trick. After seeing this I got it in 1 shot with minimal mistakes.
Man i appreciate this video. You just gave your secret away. Now you have given me confidence to go n try the rear window again. 10 out of 10 for you my man!!!
Awesome video. I’m glad you showed us the pinch trick vs the pink chisel tool. 👌🏽 you made it look super easy. I’m gonna keep referring back to this video as I’m doing this kind of rear window tomorrow!
This is where I'm hung up on my car (A3 hatchback). My first time tinting: got everything else done fine, but the rear window has gotten me twice now. Thank you for doing this video
Excellent video. The curved rear window of my Ford Crown Vic is a real challenge to shrink. I keep getting creases. You gave some good pointers which should help me tomorrow when I give it another try.But when watching your film is shrinking much better than the film I bought off of Amazon.
Hire a professional. You will never be able to complete that job right with amazon film and no experience, you'll just waste time, money, and need plenty of headache medicine. Hire a good professional installer
Point taken - I like privacy & installed tint darker than legally allowed and will have to remove and reinstall it each year to pass inspection with 3 cars in the family that would cost about $1000/year. So I took the time to learn to save $$$. The side windows were quite easy but I'll admit I used 50 feet of film before I finally got the rear window completed. If I had high quality film such as www.flexfilmplus.com/ that is suggested in this video I am sure I would have used less.
I Ralph, I'm french. I learn to tint windows whith your videos ;) So thinks for that! You realy do good job. You Just have to traduce your videos in french to be perfect ;) Because i don't understand anything what you say 😂 Sorry for my english, bye.
Yours videos are probably the best I've ever seen. You explains everything in the best possible way. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. In one of your videos you mentioned that sliping solution is one of the most important thing. Could you please tell me what ratio is the best ? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for answer Ralph, but: 1. I don't do window tinting commercially. If I did, I would probably go for Tint-Tac, but I just want to tint my own car. Your videos explained everything I need to do that except slip solution. That's why I asked you for ratio water:soap. 2. I live in UK and as far as I can see your product is not avaiable in UK. Anyway thanks for your videos. I will experiment until I find best slip solution. Regards
The MK5's really stress me out sometimes. One question to Ralph, Could you do a video on why the 2009-2012 Mazda 6 rear window glass always bubbles up at the bottom? It is a pain in the butt to get film not to bubble off and away from the defroster lines on those model year Mazdas 6.
I have a VW Jetta that I’m getting ready to tint the windshield on but can’t get any tools in between the dash and windshield on the bottom, any suggestions?
wow your good i just did a little car rear glass on my own car what a mess thought id give it a try anyhow if it looks hard work you aint worked hard enough! you musta worked hard cos you make it look easy it isnt but thanks to your vids ive got enough confidence to buy some more film and have another go thanks
Thanks for this video, the golf is still one of those windows I don't like to see coming in, the newer 2010 2012 ones are worse, thanks for the tips 👍👍
What side of the tint go to the window the clear of the dark side or what side touch the soap if you can let me know please and Thanks great video by way
I've been watching you do your art, your very good sir. So I've subscribed. Do you do anti glare film, I've just bought a new car with rear tints but want to put anti glare. Some way as tinting I presume ? I've learnt a lot from you. Well presented. RM UK.
I put this question on several tint videos. But it applies to this type glass. How do you remove the old tint off a small hatch like this?? And not ruin the defroster? No one seems to show how to remove the old tint. So...any hints? To get it ready for new tint, when it is STILL 98% tightly held onto the glass???
One more question what if we don’t have a inside job to do hr tints what if we have to work outside in the heat that’s the biggest challenge I’m having rite now who got a outside 2018 video of tints yeah u will always get good tints inside but what a bout outside wind blowing heat bugs flyers because water and soaps is they key of life so how can I get a good tints outside. Why you need a heating gun if the windows is percut tints and can you crack your glass with a heating gun by shrinking your tints to make it a perfect shirking so what’s the spots no the important spots you need to worry a bout when you shrink because I be having ruff problems on the side like it gets very crispy when I get done with the bottom and work my way up to the top rite or left hand corner

I am wondering, what is the difference between Golf GTI back window and standard Golf hatchback back window. Lot of golf shrinking movies are named „Golf GTI”.Anyone knows?
@@FlexFilmPlus Did you find a MK5 to tint? I'm curious to try out your technique. It's one car I'm finding difficult. Also the new VW beetle would be nice to watch you try
@@stringsnare I've done a few now. I've learnt different ways to heat. Key I've found is leave plenty of film at the bottom. Then catch the film before it trys to bunch up. Images on Instagram. instagram.com/SuffolkWindowTinting
The concept of this video is awesome but the camera views suck. The majority of the video should be recorded only by the camera man with a close up to see more in detail his technique and the way the tint works with him. Specially on last three corners where the shrinking starts to get tricky.
You could float the tint with dabs of baby powder. All you need is to break the static cling of the film to glass. Instead you went to this drawn out process of wiping soap, waiting for it to dry and washing your hands. If you're making a video about shrinking film on a back glass of a GTI it would be helpful to show a tint on a complete car. You seem to think adjusting your technique to work around the upper wing and side shrouds isn't useful in a video of how to tint a GTI.
What a dick. Only reason to comment that was to be a dick and a hater. Prolly goes around all day sayin rude shit to people over the internet hed never say in person. U didnt talk too much Ralph, ur the man. Can u send me a sticker for my car if u have any from ur shop!? I'm finishing tinting my audi in the morning myself and a subtle sticker would give the finishing touch Lol
