The Netflix Series "First Love" is a new story that has been crafted through inspiration from two songs by Hikaru Utada: the 1999 smash hit and musical gem "First Love," and "Hatsukoi," released 19 years later. The story follows a couple retracing their memories of their unforgettable first love over the course of more than 20 years and spanning three decades: the late '90s, the 2000s, and the present.
The ultimate love story presented by the miraculous combination of Hikari Mitsushima, Takeru Satoh, director Yuri Kanchiku and the songs of Hikaru Utada
The Netflix Series "First Love" starts streaming from November 24, 2022, only on Netflix!

Young, free and madly in love. As teenagers, the world was their oyster - but as adults, their lives seem dimmer, like a very important piece is missing. Развлечения
Finished the series and its gonna make you realize how loving someone more than yourself is the bravest beautiful n dangerous thing ever.
yeah… im scared to end up like harumichi to be honest😂
Beautiful story
@@bapsnatchedmywigwhy? He's got job and girl. 😊
I felt this.
I cannot describe how much I love this series. The true art. The true masterpiece. Every character is portrayed perfectly and I'm in awe to see just how much the actors and the creators put their hearts and souls while creating this beautiful, BEAUTIFUL work of art. For me, First Love is indeed the Netflix's highlight of 2022.
Verily
Watching it right now. The story is similar to The 8 Year Engagement.
@@rumblefish9 Yes! Absolutely loved it too! I think its part of the reason why they chose Takeru Satoh as the lead in this series.
really?
forgot to mention excellent camerawork.
The reason the series is so amazing is because it is not just about a simple first love. It's about childhood crushes, motherly sacrifices, navigating being a man in late 20th century, effects of separation and so much more.
It is life in 9 episodes, and all our first loves within it.
I just come to see comment section and found this angel number 222 on your comment likes and search the meaning of it, and here's what I search.
Seeing 222 is likely sending a message to focus your attention on your heart connections, meaning friendships, romantic relationships and family ties, according to Wilder. However, she noted that twos do not signify brief connections or everyday encounters.
Sorry my English is bad:)

Is this series finished the story or ended at cliffhanger???
The scene where she listened to First Love with Tsuzuru then all her memories with Harumichi coming back was brilliantly written.
Oh man, I thought that it was the ending at some point. 😫 glad it wasn’t
@@creativepicnlohh dear I'm sorry, I hope I didn't spoil that much 😀😀
@@Midoriblitz No worries. Binged it from beginning to end. 😄
I was crying with all my emotions so hatd at that scene
@@creativepicnlI did too because they were playing the full ending credits and didn’t have a skip option until the very end. I’m glad there was one more episode, but I think this would have been a powerful ending too. 😢
The Namiki family's clothing color is red, and the Noguchi family's is blue. When red and blue are mixed, they become purple, and the flower Harumichi is holding is a purple lilac, which means "first love".
This is the most modern Japanese Drama I’ve ever seen. True craftsmanship from writing, acting, cinematography, editing, set locations, and to costume design (notice the use of colors throughout). And they truly captured what falling in love as kids back in the 90s. The story has no loose ends. I can’t believe this dorama even exists as it is soooo good. And a special treat for fans of classic 90s Jpop

@@jameshenrysmith Fake. No more korea.
I got really engrossed with the world built in this show. I wanted to know if Yae reconnected with her best friend, confronts her half sister, or telling her mom that she remembers Hachimaru.
This is the most beautiful show I’ve seen this year. Had me sobbing and smiling. Simply a masterpiece 💛
IZ*ONE covered this song. Kim Chaewon covered the song again now as part of Le Sserafim.
I just love it that the very first line of the series goes like "someone has said, that life is like a jigsaw puzzle.", and that's how they presented the whole series, these mini flashbacks as the puzzle pieces, to have the full understanding of the characters relationahips.
IZ*ONE covered this song. Kim Chaewon covered the song again now as part of Le Sserafim.
I just finished watching the film and it made me feel different kinds of emotions. I just hope Netflix will release more masterpiece like this one. I love the ending, how it left the viewers thinking what happened next, or what Yae's story from the very first start since we already know Harumichi's. Utada's song hits different when it boomed during your childhood.
how can i watch for free? please give me the link
I know there's one in bilibili app. The title's First Love:Hatsukoi
the ending was so dreamy. it was like an Illusion 😭i never wanted this, series to end. i wanted to watch these two together always. everytime they spent together was so precious. this series has my hearttt. literally best series of the decade istg😭
Ive felt that this series had 3 endings. First when she remembered Harumichi in EP 8. Second is when episode 9 ended with her exploring and going abroad. And the last episode is where they finally met because of fate. It’s all cascading from the 8th episode and you can actually segment it and for me, whatever ending fits. Ofc I was hoping for the true series ending where they lived together. But imagine if they didn’t, its painful but more realistic and I would still love it.
Did you see post credit scene? They are together.
For everyone discovering UTADA HIKARU for the first time, WELCOME! I strongly encourage you all to dive head first into her entire musical catalogue, you won’t be disappointed!
Everything about this trailer is so captivating, especially the soundtrack. I know I'll certainly be needing some tissues on November, 24.
PS. Just waiting for Netflix or whoever wants to create a Spotify Playlist with all those songs
or not
could have a happy ending
A beautiful story/movie doesn’t have to be sad for people to cry🥲 It just has to touch your heart but hopefully it ends well to not cry more😂
@@omar66588 as the person above well said, it doesn't need to be sad nor have a sad ending to make you cry
Utada Hikaru's heart break songs are beautiful; other than First Love, there's Sakura Drop, Flavor Of Life (which is also one of the soundtracks of Hana Yori Dango 2), Prisoners Of Love and Hatsukoi (which is also the Sondtrack of the 2018 version of Boys Over Flowers)
The most beautiful series i have ever watched. Crying and still crying. The scene where she reads harumichi letter that's so precious i just love it.

@@chiomaokeke5311 you can watch chugakusei nikki! It's really good and their chemistry is perfect! But warning, it involved student teacher relationship but their romance does not develop until he's much more older and it's kinda realistic.
Okada debut and he smash it out of park. What a great actor.
@@chiomaokeke5311 Try Love and Fortune if you are comfortable with mature topics. Another great J drama I would suggest is Switched. Both of them are on Netflix and are extremely well made
@@chiomaokeke5311 The 8 Year Engagement. It has the same lead actor as this series, Takeru Satoh. Actually, a lot of Takeru's movies and series are very good.
This was my first J-drama I ever watched and just like the title, it truly is a first love. More than a romance, it navigates the nuances of adolescence, growing up and apart, motherhood, social stigma, and the connections that exist deeper than our memories can recall. Each episode did not miss a beat, expect tears to be shed with the beautiful execution of the acting in this show. Highly recommend for those looking for a renewed passion in life.
They filled this series with wisdom. From dreams, to destiny and meaning of life. It is more than a love story.
“The mind forgets, but the heart will always remember❤”
Just finished binge watching this and seriously...it was the best series I watched in a long time...I want my friends and family to watch it just so I can have people to talk about it with!
Totally agree. I was really worried when he was talking to her through the window of the cafe but walked away. Could have saved 3 years of loneliness and heartache, but it was so well written and made sense the way she had to discover for herself the truth. Perfect series, definitely my best of all time
This is definitely going to break my heart, and I can't wait.
This is NOT going to Break your heart , Cause around the mid part , You can find them talking about fate . So things will work out for them.
完璧すぎる芸術作品だった…ほんのちょっとした伏線さえも完璧に回収してた。これは泣かない方が無理な作品。特に8話の最後なんてもう涙で前が見えなかった
You can never see something in Kdramas, love between taxi driver and security guard, two ordinary people, it's always rich and poor, CEO, love triangle...this show is life.
This feels like 5 centimeters per second. Such a sweet yet depressing movie
5cm is one of my favourite movies, and you’re completely right ❤
It’s my fav Makoto Shinkai film and nothing since then has been able to top it 😭
Dang it! Not gonna watch this then. I was hoping for a happy ending. Should’ve known better.

This was the most beautifully written show i have ever watched, i rarely get emotional when watching something but this just was gorgeous
"My sister...
It's my fault Yu lost her hearing.
When we were kids, I thought I would grow up to become Ultraman.
But in reality, I'm a weak and powerless human who couldn't even save his drowing sister.
I had to become strong.
The reason someone like me was able to feel this way was because of how Yu faced adversity with a positive attitude.
I believe all encounters and partings may be guided by fate.
Every event is an irreplaceable piece.
I may not be able to save the world, but I want to be a man who can at least protect the loved ones within his reach.
The world's greatest little sister and my best friend for life will become a family.
Let's all celebrate.
Good luck, Bonji!
Congratulations!"

I never stop crying ! Dear Netflix the first love series was so good and both lead actors and actress played wonderfully if I have to rate this from other series of yours this got my 10 over 10!
Watched this because Utada Hikaru - First love was one of my favorite songs back then and probably still is. This series made me so emotional! Beautiful love story ❤
I didn't expect this to be uploaded on the main Netflix channel, the all the teasers were uploaded on the asian Netflix RUclips channels, this probably means that Netflix has high hopes this tv drama.
This show deserves so much more recognition!
This series is so well written, so well detailed every episode. This could be one one of the best if not, the best romance series that ever produced of this decade. I literally cried watching this. J-Drama literally hits different, it's not just a typical love story that you watch in a Kdrama. this series has an authentic love story, it does not only for characters beautiful faces or whatever, it's simply a masterpiece. I hope it get more recognition. I would probably put this on my favorite series of all time. J-Drama and even their anime dramas really hits different. plus, I really love their culture & language.
What I love about this series is, every character nailed their role. Every episode is worth watching. I'm really satisfied watching this 😭❤️ and I'm really thankful for myself witnessing their love story. Looking forward for more Japanese Drama. Their Drama hits different!

I’m a native Japanese living in US and have access to Japanese Netflix through VPN, but still not enough, I watched so many other incredible Japanese shows and movies elsewhere. I hope more like this will be featured in the World Netflix. I saw the footage of this and took over 2 years to shoot the entire thing. Amazing.
My first time watching a Japanese drama, and wow truly a masterpiece. This was like a slow burning romance, I didn't wanna skip anything. I fell in love with all the characters. I love how real the emotions are.
Dear Netflix I hope we got more Japanese movies and series here in Canada! We love the plot of first love Takeru Satoh always delivered his best from Rurouni Kenshin series and movies to Kamen Rider to First love his so outstanding together with his co actors Hikari Mitsushima , Rikako Yagi and the young harumichi! And of course never the less the Theme-song Firstlove of Hikaru Utada wow the best! ❤ again 10/10 rate in 🇨🇦
If you don't vibe with First Love from Utada, who are you even? Looking forward to a rollercoaster of emotions and amazing acting from the characters with this simplistic storyline of love, one's first love.
the two songs are like my life anthem... found out 'First Love' when i got into high school and literally met my first love after an extra lesson of Japanese Language at school, Hatsukoi, the second one came out on 2018, the day i realize that I probably wont find the kind of love i had 20 years ago... and because of 'First Love' I became a fan of Utada Hikaru and still am....

The power of Utada Hikaru's songs my heart 🥺
I hve been a fan of “First Love” and “Automatic” by Utada Hikaru since it debuted. It was my National Anthem up until now, I still play it. The moment I saw this on Netflix, I know it would be good as Takeru Satoh has been the actor who also played Rurouni Kenshin. The series was masterfully and beautifully done as every episode pierced through my heart. My husband is not a fan of Asian movies specially Romance or RomComs but this time he watched it wilfully with me and I really appreciated it. I’m so overwhelmed on Yae’s and Harumichi’s love story that people felt their young love and reminisce the times when it was all love and happiness. I’m so thankful they’ve relived the song thru a Heartfelt Series.
I just watched this and still cant get over it. I bawled like a baby
I have watched a lot of Japanese dramas on other websites and on Netflix, but this has to be the most beautifully written, acted and well shot Japanese drama.
It reminded me a lot of 'Forrest Gump' where fate makes them meet and separate and the historical/important events that took place between 1997 to 2022 which is woven in the story perfectly.
The teenage/younger couple's love story impressed me more while their adult lives showed the real world struggles and how the 'first love' still remained an integral part of their adult lives. The flashbacks were not out of sync and added context to the story.
Mostly Japanese dramas have some weird themes or scenarios but this drama seems to have been written in such a way that appeals to the global audiences. It's a wonderful emotional journey about a love story that stood the test of time and hardships of life. I would really recommend people to watch it if you are the romantic kind. I rate this series 10/10.
