  • Task Force History presents "Niigata Air Force Base in Japan 1950's". These unpublished historical photographs were taken by / belonged to Air Force Sergeant Charles Arnold Fry of Michigan. These photos are a chronicle of his military service in Japan in the 1950's.
    Charles A Fry joined the newly formed US Air Force at the beginning of the Cold War and went on to serve until the end of the Vietnam War. During his many years of service as an aircraft radio technician, he was stationed at numerous Air Force bases including Lackland, Scott, Niigata, Nellis and Pease.
    Some of the themes in this video include Niigata Air Force Base, recreation and the Kamakura Daibutsu (Buddha).
