- This is the upgraded PC-Engine SCD version of the original Japanese game Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball Bu - Soccer Hen. Most people are familiar with the rearranged English version called Nintendo World Cup. Since there's some videos of all its super shots, here's all the Japanese version shots. The PC Engine version has five international teams not in the 8-bit Famicom.
Save states were hacked to play as teams not normally playable. In the Hucard and Famicom versions you can do that or hack the selection of teams in vs, except they have less teams and the Famicom has more limitations.
Various save states for single player, 2 player vs comp, and 2-4 player Vs: www.mediafire.com/download/pqm...
All 2 player mirror matches not normally possible used to make this video: www.mediafire.com/download/9b5...
Be careful not to overwrite whatever syscard3.ts# save states you may have for other CD games and see included the text files for detailed info.
In save states for Turbo Engine, the value for player 1's team for any mode is at 0679. The second team for versus mode is the very next value at 067A. Save the state to be hacked on the field select screen for versus or the match # screen for tournament mode. In FCE Ultra save states, player's 1 value is at 055C and the second team is the very next value at 055D, but one team must always be 00 for Nekketsu when changing one to a not normally playable one. In save states for JNES the values are at 52C & 52D.
I recommend Hexposure which you have to run in DOSBox in newer Windows. Hexecute gets the job done though.

Slide tackle does 3 damage. Shoulder bash does 8 damage. If players have the same current HP, then either can bash the other, whoever gets the other first. If a player has 1 or 2 less current HP than someone they're trying to bash, they both fall. As you can see, most usually unplayable teams in Japanese version have shot steps of zero. Just start to move and immediately kick.

His All Super Shots video of the English Nintendo World Cup inspired this and his tutorials are great.
The River City Ransom music is not normally in the game. I recompiled a new copy of my authentic SCD with it substituted.
Only the PC Engine versions and Nintendo World Cup are 3 or 4 players.
Shaolin Soccer may as well be the movie version of these games.

And another video of messing around in the original Famicom version with a Hyper Team: ruclips.net/video/GDiOfqmRkFA/видео.html
I found out that you can get hyper team in this version if you set the team value to 12.
I tried that some time ago but the hyper team had no faces so I didn't consider them a complete team. Did you have better results?
The best one I have gotten was value 18. The faces are numbers from 0-6, they are black and white with a little bit of green, and they are somewhat hyper. Also they change the ball color to an inverted black and white. Unlike other values this one is the most stable I found.
Cool! Thanks, I gotta try that. I got an idea I gotta try for the Hucard version. France is replaced with the Tanegashima Rocket Scientists and the four other additional teams are partially deleted. They still have faces but no name shown on score screen and it crashes when they try a super shot, but if I simply change their super shots in the rom to ones that still exist they may play alright without crashing. If only I could figure how to change team colors in that version to make Itallia and Deutschland look different.
My theory about the Hucard version worked. Only probs are the partial deleted countries all have the faces of the Scientists. Italy and Germany have their colors too so that's three teams that look identical. But anyway here's some ips patches for the Hucard version with the selection of teams changed in vs:

Hack4 is the best selection with no lookalikes. I gotta try seeing the hex value 18 team in the CD version yet. I want to figure how to get Turbo Engine to read a copy of the CD on my hard drive so I can hack around with this version more other than save states.
The worst version I have seen yet.
