Cannibal Corpse is my favorite band. Not a single dud in their entire catalog. Best songwriters in Death Metal, too! \m/

There was a guy on eBay recently who listed the first pressings of the entire Barnes era on vinyl. But for some reason, he took down the listings for the first three.
Probably the coolest piece in my entire collection of all bands would have to be Chris Barnes's original handwritten lyrics for "Vomit the Soul". I got it from a guy on eBay about a year ago who bought it from Jack Owen right after he left the band. I questioned the authenticity of it until I heard a Fantasm Podcast episode with Chris Barnes where he talked about how he wrote all the lyrics to Butchered at Birth on red concert flyers. The paper with the "Vomit the Soul" lyrics I bought is a red concert flyer with Deicide and Cannibal Corpse on the back of it. At that point, I knew it had to be authentic. It's just too random of a thing to fake. To hear a podcast and decide to fake something like that would just be too bizarre. I'd like to meet Barnes and get it authenticated from the man himself. The only piece in my collection that can rival that is Ruben Rosas's personal copy of Devourment - Molesting the Decapitated, which is one of my top five favorite albums of all time. Heck, I listened to it twice yesterday because it's just that amazing.
As far as the cassette releases, there are official uncensored versions of them. The problem is that they tend to go for quite a surprising amount of money.

Nicolas dude, those lyrics are a fucking relic!! What a piece, I’m jealous.

I was shocked for how little it went for. My bid far exceeded the final bid.
Here is Barnes talking about writing the lyrics for Butchered at Birth. He also tells a humorous story about recording the outro for "Necropedophile".

So glad that you got around to doing this, Cannibal are one of my favourite bands and it's so hard to collect all their early shit (Especially here in Australia) I agree with you about the back on black pressings (Of which I have a few) They're not great but they're better than nothing. Also, Old logo over the new logo any day and can't wait to see the next instalments of this shit. Legend.

In the CC: Centuries of Torment documentary (probably because I can't really remember) they talk about the Bleeding artwork. They said that they really loved the artwork for Eaten, Butchered and Tomb but they were a bit dissapointed by the artwork for the Bleeding (obviously made by Vince Locke). They didn't want to ask for a redisign of the artwork so they just stuck with it and cropped the image to just the torso of the women on the cover and added the full art on the inside, so it isn't censored.

Nice collection, man! As cor the "censoring" The Bleeding cover it wasn't like that. The band (Chris and Alex mostly) didn't like the artwork, so they just zoomed in the part of that artwork and made it the cover art :D

I prefered Barnes myself. I loved the horror themed lyrics, sick as fuck shit. Necropedophile. Powerful stuff.
I prefer Barnes era over Grinder myself, but its gotten cheesy TBH. How many ways can u kill someone really? Lived that era, loved this era!
