In a world where a small but very vocal minority demand comparisons between the A95L, G4, and S95D, I'm glad that there are reviewers like you Steve who cover more budget and mid-range sets that most of us will actually buy. Although this DU7200 is too small of an upgrade from my NU7100, I think it would be a good budget set for someone who wants something big without spending big money. Which is how I looked at my NU7100 when I originally purchased it. Thanks for these first impressions!

Just got the 50" version this week for my girlfriend who had been watching a tiny 30" Insignia Fire TV, so anything better than a 1975 Zenith console would be an upgrade! So far it's delivered a very good picture and adequate sound from the TV speakers. Setup was quick and easy, other than the typical PITA setting up a Samsung account to finish startup! This set seems to be a really good option for folks who can live without OLED (and the $1,000 plus prices) but want a decent viewing experience. Also, the $350 sale price at Best Buy was a good deal!

As someone who’s been using an old 2007 TV for the past 14 years & isn’t the biggest TV watcher, this is quite an upgrade 😂 I only watch a few shows at a time - right now it’s Person of Interest & Rings of Power, which both have very different settings (city vs country & CGI effects) & noticeable differences from the old TV. The picture looks great & it does what I need it to! I have an old PlayStation & I’m looking to upgrade that too. I have an old Denon sound system (which came out a few years later than the TV) & can still hook up the VCR with the good ol’ red & white connectors. My only complaint so far is I wish the remote was a little bigger because it already likes to hide in my couch & it’s just too small. But otherwise, it’s pretty easy to use once you figure things out.

This is weird because I bought the 65” model, and the newest remote came with that version. I also couldn’t get the VRR to work on my PS5, but the Samsung website says it supports VRR.
Would you recommend this over other TVs within this price range like the TCL Q6 / Vizio M quantum series. or even spending a little more to get the TCL Q7?
I had this for a couple days and ended up returning it. I just found it to be too dim. I maxed out the brightness all the way and it was still dim. guess I'll have to go with a higher-end model.
I have decided I am gonna go ahead and pull the trigger on this TV for one reason only, and that reason being it's a 60 inch and that's a super weird size. It also happens to work perfectly with my space and entertainment center setup. I am upgrading from a 55 inch Vizio V series that unfortunately suffered a circuit board failure. However to anyone else looking into this TV, I am going into it knowing that I am going to have to replace my soundbar as well with one that is compatible.

Hey Steve honestly I have a 58 inch cu7000 in the bedroom and I just got a TCL 55 q5 for living room. I would have went with another Samsung but head to head the TCL beats the DU and is 70 bucks cheaper currently. I feel like the CU was a better value than the DU other than the brightness- what do you think about Samsungs recent lack of focus on their budget line? It’s not as premium as years past imo
Being that they are the most sold TV in the world, i don’t think they are chasing specs like other companies. They also have a massive infrastructure for service and customer service support. All that has a cost to doing business. It comes down to each person experience not the TVs in some regards
Steve, Thanks very much for a very solid on-point review. I just purchased this TV yesterday...An Excellent buy at a great price for what we needed. I have had great service from Samsung products. I Need to purchase a good sound bar now. What do you suggest best to use with this set? Thanks again Steve!
I just bought the 43” and I’m afraid to pull the protective film off because it doesn’t have a bar code on it. It does have the pull tab on the left hand bottom side. I might contact customer service to ensure it’s safe to remove.
Can you tell me how I get to the display to change the resolution settings? I see in you video you have general tv &display options but how to I get there. Thanks
The resolution is determined by the devices that’s connected or quality of streaming apps. Go to RUclips app and type 4k demo, that will display the 4k
@TechSteve Okay, thats what I thought, but since I saw you physically change it on the TV I thought I would just set to 1080p or 4k so it always plays at such levels. I have a fire tv 4k stick and I have that device set to 4k. Thank you for replying back. I very much appreciated your helps and videos. I am new to samsung tvs. I had always used a LG.

Steve, I have this TV and I am pleased with its performance. However, I cannot get the Comcast 4k picture without color washout. Tried 3 different new cables and all settings I could find and nothing improved the picture. RUclips, Netflix, beautiful picture which sorta points to Comcast being the issue. Any suggestions? TY
hey I just bought this same TV, same size 65" 2 days ago. Haven't opened it yet since ive been working. Does it have the 2 bases close to each other like in this video? in regards to the stand?
I have a few questions. I'm trying to get a TV that we can use for Xbox. S and Xbox x Nintendo switch. And we do not have cable. We usually use some type of app and stream our movies from our phones. They are not paid apps. Blush has put it that way, so I don't know what quality they are, but I'm sure they are not 4K. Would you still recommend this TV or could you give me one that would be good and I love Samsung. I would hate to buy this TV and not be able to watch my movies on it. Because I can't afford cable too unfortunately.
Hey, Steve! Just wondering, when you bought this unit, was this a sealed box? I noticed that the tape on the box is not well-aligned. I’m just curious about this since the store seller might give me a unit which was opened (for display on the store). Was hoping to know what the signs on the box will be if it were opened before. Thanks in advance!
@@Dontloseyourlight100 Just got this TV and didn't even notice that it didn't have any audio outputs other than eARC to a sound bar. I usually connect my stereo DAC through fiber optic. Now I have to figure out another way.
Thanks so much for this review, I'm considering getting it, a much higher priced 4k 120hz tv actually had worse input lag at 4k gaming mode than this much cheaper tv in my research. 120hz 4k being affordable is still quite a few years away I think, and, I think we were a bit mislead on how powerful this gen of consoles even was, high refresh mode usually has to turn the resolution down in games so much it ends up looking kinda crappy blown up on a big tv lol. I know Battlefield 4 on FPS boost mode on the Series X looked absolutely horrible when I tried it out on my old LG Nanocell 85 tv years ago lol. Seems this is a 4k 60hz at most game generation, a lot of stuff has to do 30hz to do 4k too I've noticed. Or is just upscaled 1440p anyway. Anyway, a sincere thanks, this may end up being the tv I get on black friday soon, we'll see. I had an LG Nanocell 85 4k 120hz higher end tv but gave it to a family member in need since I wasn't even using it awhile back. However, now I do want a large tv to game on again and have been hunting around. Despite nitpicks online about apparently horrible local area dimming on the Nanocell 85 I didn't even notice it in irl usage, I guess I'm just not that picky lol. I just want something that's 4k 55in and low input lag while being cheap-ish.
I’m planning to get this Samsung tv series but before I do I have a quick question, would you happen to know if this series have a built in camera in it? I’ve never own a Samsung tv before and I’ve heard people say in some models it has a built in camera and I don’t like to have a camera built in my smart tv. I tried to research if this Samsung series have a built in camera or not but there wasn’t any helpful results about it.
Thanks for info. You told me everything I needed to know. This is not the right tv for my mom. I'll see if you're reviewing models with more bells and maybe a whistle.🙂
I purchased this TV due to reasonable price. I had a Vizio LCD HDTV E600i-B3 for 9 years and it died. I'm taking this TV back after 3 days because the pixel and flashing is unbearable. We have judder turned up can't watch a single tennis match because it flashes every 60 seconds. The blacks are not black at all. Everything is super blurry compared to our old Vizio tv. Not sure how you got such clear pictures and good black coloring on the tv you demonstrated. Ours had hazing and pixels in the blacks. We have it connected to ethernet because we have Fiber and fiber box only comes with ethernet connection only no HDMI. On on Vizio it was perfect so it has to be a Samsung issue. Not the TV for me. I will say I loved the set up was super easy, remote is easy, menu and everything easy to figure out just picture quality for me was a huge nope. Thanks for your great review!!! Your reviews are by far the best I've seen.
@@TechSteve yep we do have Hulu all the paid stuff. Cha Ching corporate greed. As a rural person we just got fiber brought to us by Biden's push for rural internet. This has been amazing vs dial up...yes dial up was all we had until 2022. I called Samsung for help and they were actually super helpful. Basically they said most local channels and shows still broadcast in 1080p and there is still very limited 4K shows except for newer movies, and shows from 2022 that are now starting at 4K. They said as more and more begin to add 4K and convert over eventually 1080p will be a thing of the past like VHS tapes. LOL (I still have those). They said the majority of huge populations of rural communities still are not capable of 4K that is why I'm getting the pixels on local news, older shows like Friends, or lets say older movies on Freeform because they do not broadcast in 4K anything so it's 1080p. Why then can't Samsung not pixelate those because I would think it would be as clear for 1080p as 4K and Samsung? The TV should adjust from 720-4K in my opinion if this is a "smart tv" they said nope. LOL. I'm getting beautiful picture quality on all 4K but anything less is terrible unlike my older tv. The Tennis Channel is still 1080p and that is why it's not as clear or smooth as a Live French Open which was broadcast in 4K. So Steve, is there a TV out there that reads 1080p and 4K? I guess a lot has changed from buying a tv 9 years ago huh. LOL. Thanks again so much for providing such awesome, comprehensive, and helpful TV reviews. Hands down the best TV unboxing and reviewer on RUclips!

I bought the same TV but this TV has no voice assistant and it's very difficult to type in some YT videos in search. How will I add alexa then? Give suggestions please.
Whatever this new Tizen software is. I don't like it. I also hate the remote. It has no input buttons for HDMI sources. The source names are also odd and don't think you can edit the names. I managed to connect my Chromecast to HDMI 1 and it says that its a PC 😅 It's definitely a learning curve and takes time to get used to. Also don't think you can disable the ambient light sensor or adjust the backlight separate from the brightness. Hopefully Samsung can make the user interface better with future updates.

Why is it that no one covers the tuners in TVs anymore? Would really like to know if this is an ATC 3.0. How about sensitivity for far away television stations? No one seems to care about OTA TV anymore, and yet it provides one of the best pictures. This oversight gives broadcast stations more power because they receive broadcast fees when cable companies resend out their signal. We are far too reliant on the internet these days.
Sammys always had the best tuners on the market! BUT its irrelevant for last 10+yrs now, cord cutting n 4k content WAY better than TRASH lamestream lying media at 720-1080p with 80% commercials and bs! 💩No thanks🤦😂

How do you find those background pictures ?
Steve, Thanks very much for a very solid on-point review. I just purchased this TV yesterday...An Excellent buy at a great price for what we needed. I have had great service from Samsung products. I Need to purchase a good sound bar now. What do you suggest best to use with this set? Thanks again Steve!
Hi! Where is the power button on the tv? I can't find it.
Thank you! Wish you had a video to show how to do settings and use the remote, having a hard time
Buy this amzn.to/4cRUvfi
Hey Steve, me and my dad want a solid tv for above 550$ and below 900$. I’m leaning towards the Hisense u8n, do you have any suggestions?
Get the sony x90l, it's 899 right now
@@demetrioscharalambous-ck7bm i will check it out!
I just bought the 43” and I’m afraid to pull the protective film off because it doesn’t have a bar code on it. It does have the pull tab on the left hand bottom side. I might contact customer service to ensure it’s safe to remove.
Don’t put if you don’t have a tab
You’re welcome
Hi. Does this model support Dolby Atmos soundbars? (Sorry if that’s a stupid question 😅)
I’m really torn between lg uhd 4k and this samsung for my ps5, I’ve heard complaints about the lg after the latest system update but as far as the frame, picture and sound do u have any advice?
Steve, I have this TV and I am pleased with its performance. However, I cannot get the Comcast 4k picture without color washout. Tried 3 different new cables and all settings I could find and nothing improved the picture. RUclips, Netflix, beautiful picture which sorta points to Comcast being the issue. Any suggestions? TY
Not sure i use streaming apps
What sound bar would you recommend with this tv?
Any thoughts on the DU7100 instead of this 7200?
What is the peak brightness in SDR?
Great review. Bought the UD7200 Ultra crystal 65" today. What is that cable organizing clip used for?
running the cables on the legs
hey I just bought this same TV, same size 65" 2 days ago.
All you need is hdmi cables,
It should have single tape
Same here I got mine for Christmas and it had that paper tape so I thought it was a return or display but no it was actually well packed and seal
No headphone jack, no audio output, I'm out! Thanks for the post. Helpful.
@@Dontloseyourlight100 Just got this TV and didn't even notice that it didn't have any audio outputs other than eARC to a sound bar. I usually connect my stereo DAC through fiber optic. Now I have to figure out another way.
does your HTR have hdmi?
I was considering buying a tv of this model but I noticed it has some darker areas around the center of the picture

I am hesitating with Samsung DU7200D Series VS Samsung DU6900D Series ..
7200
@TechSteve Thank you 😊
@Jade-ug1jd np
I was wondering what kind of cable I need to hook the tv to a Sony A/V receiver? Thanks.
Hdmi if it supports it
I’m planning to get this Samsung tv series but before I do I have a quick question, would you happen to know if this series have a built in camera in it? I’ve never own a Samsung tv before and I’ve heard people say in some models it has a built in camera and I don’t like to have a camera built in my smart tv. I tried to research if this Samsung series have a built in camera or not but there wasn’t any helpful results about it.
Non that i heard of in the usa, you have to plug one into the usb
Which one is better du 7000 , cu 8000 or du 8000
So ,the ports are on the right side ?
When you buy newer TVs you must use 4K devices to keep up with the pixel count. I recommend paid streaming services
That’s the upscaling, TVs like sony has better processors for that
Got mine for 180 has none of the issues above thinking maybe it's faulty unless mine came with different presets that are the problem not sure
Im debating on whetever I should get this tv or the Samsung Series 8 UE65DU8000KXXU tv 165,1 cm (65") 4K Ultra HD Smart TV Wifi Zwart what tv is better for ?
I bought the same TV but this TV has no voice assistant and it's very difficult to type in some YT videos in search. How will I add alexa then? Give suggestions please.
You have to get DU8000 and up for voice
@@TechSteve brother I already bought DU7000, without knowing about voice assistant issue. Damn all these money but no basic feature.
@rupeshjadhav943 sorry man
Whatever this new Tizen software is.
Does the 60" Samsung DU7200 TV come with 2 leg locations?
this is the same question I have. I can't find this information anywhere.
@@jedimindtrick75 The 55'' and up all have the dual leg positions
@@jedimindtrick75 my question as well. i have the 65 inch and wondering the same thing- does it have the 2 leg locations? lol
@@proudblackwoman4824 I have learned this is does have two leg locations. The inner legs are about 15 inches apart. The outer legs about 44.
@@proudblackwoman4824 I was able to find this answer actually : ) Yes, it has two sets of leg locations. The inner about 15" apart. The outer about 44" apart. May be a little different on a 65" but they definite have two leg locations.
Does it turn on and open to a menu or does it turn on to the last used input?
You can change it, in the menu for either way
Steve, I just got the Samsung 7200D and my Roku works it ok but the sound is not controlled by Roku and I have to use Samsung remote to control sound. Can you help me to get the Roku to control sound? Thanks for great videos.
Verify TV Volume Control Setting:
On your Roku device, go to "Settings" > "Remote & devices" > "Volume control."Ensure that "Auto (CEC)" or "Auto (IR)" is selected for volume control. This allows the Roku remote to control the TV's volume.
Thanks, that solved it!
Excellent, and thanks for subscribing
Does anyone know if there is any difference between the DU7000 and the DU7100?

I can't get rid of soap opera effect without sacrificing brightness. Help!
About to pickup the 55 inch. Did it come with an HDMI cable btw?
Cables are not included with TVs
@@TechSteve Gotchu. Costco said it's included on the product page so I'll give em a try.
@pranav8810 ok, at this time i don’t promote costco much
I'm looking at the 75". Does this series come with web browser?
Yes
what samsung soundbar would work with the model
Any
Which one you would get crystal uhd2024 or qled 2024 60
Qled is higher end, that’s why it costs more
I bought 43" earlier this month. This is a major upgrade for me since I have a old Insignia. The blacks are now green!😂😂😂 Love my Samsung so far!
Thinking about getting one of these for my PS5
What about the coloured dot n remote control? For what
That button seems to be one that can be customized with various functions. Not exactly sure how the process works as I haven't had a chance to dig too deeply into the instructions of a new one I just bought.
The are preset for different functions on the software
disappointed this model does not have voice control . is there away to remedy this with another remote/
I talked about it on the video
So when you compare the Samsung crystal uhd, qled and neo qled. Which of them is the best to buy?
Neo
@TechSteve so the neo qled gives you the best picture quality
What is the best place in a living room for this tv. Especially living room with plenty natural light?
It would depend on your furniture, ideally is off axis from windows to keep the glare down
How do raise and lower the volume? This controller makes no sense
Bought this before I realized no headphone Jack or audio output. Any suggestion on how to connect insignia RF wireless headphones? Bought a RCA to HDMI converter but still having trouble. Please help! My elderly mother needs her headphones.
Suggest a set of Bluetooth headphones. You can get them fairly cheap online and I've connected mine with this set very easily.
