    I come here as an owner of a 2021 Gladiator Sport S ecodiesel who was involved in a head on collision at approximately 80kmh. I was hit by a driver who crossed the centre line and struck my drivers side mostly. Those of you doubting the ability of the overlap capabilities of this platform, your sadly wrong and I was able to walk away with minor injuries. The other driver was in a Chevy Tahoe, about 2005 ish or so. His vehicle exploded, he suffered serious injuries and was air lifted. I attribute modern vehicle design and safety, along with being in a solid, tough built Jeep Gladiator. I wish I could share pictures, which are posted in Gladiator Forums, but Im buying another Gladiator. It saved my life and I was able to come to my family the same day.

    Well done Jeep. Passenger capsule intact. Legs and feet aren’t deformed under the dash and into the pedals. A-pillars and cowling above windshield did not buckle and maintained strength. Front of vehicle absorbed impact very well. Dummy heads hit square into the airbags. I do wish these types of tests would have “expert voice analysis” to walk us through what the engineers see.

    I had a 60 MPH collision in my Gladiator when a car in the left lane of the interstate had a blow out and flew into my lane and I T-Boned them going 60. My girlfriend and I walked away without any injuries at all, while the other car all went to the hospital. The Gladiator saved us and I bought another after that.

    • @Zesmas
      @Zesmas 2 года назад +16

      The only reason you did not end up in the hospital is because you where the one that did the "T-bone" if YOU where the one that GOT "T-boned" at 60mph, you would be the one in the hospital. this has nothing to do with the Gladiator being safe to drive, because many tests have been done and the Jeep Gladiator is VERY poor, Primary because it has no crumple zones and that causes the Driver and Passenger to take the full Blunt of the impact, which is REALLY bad. i'm glad you're okay but the only thing your accident has proven is that you're VERY lucky, also a little lesson on why its more dangerous to get "T-boned" then to be the person that's doing the "T-bone" Its because when you're the one that "T-bones" another car, the side of that Persons car is actually absorbing the impact for you, if you was the one that got "T-boned" then it would work the same way for the person who hit your car. Now if you got into a Head on collision at 60mph, you would most Certainly be dead, or in Critical condition in a hospital. Please don't think the jeep gladiator is a safe car BEACUSE ITS NOT, and im telling you this because I don't want you to have the Wrong idea in your head because I care about you.

    I actually witnessed close up a very bad accident. An idiot in a Jeep Wrangler JK(4 door) tried to pass on the shoulder right after a bridge. There was a metal guardrail and the jeep hit the side of the truck it was passing then hit the guardrail and it shot the Jeep into oncoming traffic. The Jeep then hit a rent-a-center moving van(box van). It was was head on and off set slightly... speed was about 70. The driver of the moving van did not survive. Both passengers in the Jeep survived with minor injuries. The Jeep did have a heavy duty front bumper and about a 3 inch lift. The other accident I seen was a Jeep pulling out in front of a Ford f250... F250 was going about 45 mph... the Jeep rolled over to its side and the Jeep did not cave in on the side as I would have expected.

      I think the drivers side didn’t lock up, or didn’t function properly, you can see the passenger was arrested quite nicely by the seat belt, but the driver continued to move forward until the steering wheel airbag and steering wheel stopped him. (Yes I know swat belts are not made to arrest your forward movement instantly, but they should also slow you down somewhat, and the driver dummy did not slow down until his body was up on the steering wheel) but who are we kidding, if your in this, thing, you just spent $50k+ for something that’s doesn’t function well as a Jeep, truck or off-roader, and in my opinion the only “truck” that worse is the Tesla Truck lol but in all honesty, if this was styled in the likings of a refreshed old jeep gladiator, I’d be all over this, but they just adulterated a wrangler and threw a bunch of left over parts and pieces lying around the factory together.

      Actually that's what Ford has been doing with their aluminum trucks, also, most vehicles were build very stiff and solid before, which made impacts harsh af and dangerous and some vehicles still have the same design to follow the idea of "more hard and stiff the better as it won't crush or be damaged much" but in reality it just makes the impact for the driver and passenger worse.

    I hope everybody understand that jeeps are EXTREMELY dangerous in an accident because they are too ridged, what i got from this crash test is that the Jeep gladiator is no exception. it has NO crumple zones, so when you hit something, the driver and passengers are absorbing the full impact. THIS IS NOT GOOD, this is not what a safe car looks like in an accident. just because the car is in good shape after the accident does NOT mean its safe. the jeep gladiator is NOT a safe car to drive, despite what anybody tells you from their Crash experiences. I recommend everybody do research on this matter before considering getting one of these jeeps.

      @onebridge7231 Год назад

      It doesn’t behave like a car. Jeep engineers use the height to absorb the impact by the engine acting like a giant shock absorber as it rotates around the solid front axle and downward, but hey, what do trained engineers know? 🤷‍♂️
