Hitchhikers has been a semi constant reread for me. The humor is always wonderful and the characters are just so incredibly likable even when theyre designed to not be. Also, fun fact, the reason all of the adaptations are a little different is because the Infinite Improbability Drive causes variations in reality.

Good list. I would turn people to Enders Game.

Oh yeah and a recommendation for accessible sci-fi! I just saw they’re making the Scott Westerfield Uglies series into a show, this would be a great time for people to read the originals! Also YA but deals with themes that I still think about decades after I read them, plus I think it’s relevant with all the drama about facial fillers in the news lately

Omg yes! The uglies series used to be a yearly reread for me when I was in high school!
I should do a YA video

Hi, I am not a big scifi reader, but I am currently reading Clara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro and it is labelled at our library as scifi. I must say that it is very easy to read. Thanks for the interesting video!

Thank you for this list! I recently read Dune as my first proper sci-fi book, and I’ve been looking to find some books that aren’t so… Frank Herbert-y. Psalm for the Wild Built sounds amazing!

You’re very welcome! I’ll probably do a part two at some point in the future, as well :) I hope you love Psalm for the Wild Built.

Psalm for the wild built is one of my fav books, I cried lol. I immediatly bought the second one once I had finished the first. I was always put off sci fi but thank you for the recommendations, I'll give them a go. When I think about it, I have watch a lot of sci fi films so it should be a genre I enjoy ❤

Ready player one is not a good book. Never saw the movie, but the book was weak.
Easy, fun read if you're obsessed with a very specific nostalgia, but not a lot of substance.
