Michael Kenna è considerato uno dei fotografi di paesaggio più influenti a livello internazionale.
Cieli stellati, nuvole sparse, alberi solitari e pontili nella nebbia sono alcuni dei soggetti più ricorrenti nelle sue immagini geometricamente composte, nelle linee e nelle superfici. Il lungo tempo di esposizione, ottenuto con la sua macchina Hasselblad, gli permette un approccio lento e attento ai luoghi che ritrae. “La prima volta che vado sul posto è come un sopralluogo, faccio qualche scatto molto banale. La seconda volta osservo in maniera approfondita e le immagini diventano più interessanti. La terza cerco l’occasione, ma lo sforzo è maggiore e non sempre facile”, racconta il fotografo.
Kenna offre una visione di armonia ed equilibrio e si dedica al suo soggetto con pazienza e devozione.

The silent world of Michael Kenna
Michael Kenna is considered one of the most influential landscape photographers at the international level.
Starry skies, scattered clouds, lonely trees, and piers in the fog are some of the most recurring subjects in its geometrically formed images, lines and surfaces. The long exposure time, obtained with his Hasselblad machine, allows him a slow and attentive approach to the places he portrays. "The first time I go to the place is like a lookout, I make some trivial shots. The second time I look in depth and the pictures become more interesting. The third is looking for the opportunity, but the effort is bigger and not always easy, "the photographer says.
Kenna offers a vision of harmony and balance and dedicates to her subject with patience and devotion.

Sono contento Anita per avermi fatto conoscere questo bravo fotografo. Ho l'impressione che tutta la sua opera sia pervasa dalla malinconica consapevolezza di non riuscire a cogliere l'anima del paesaggio che gli sta davanti. Forse è proprio per questa consapevolezza che con pazienza Kenna riesce ad esprimere la verità del significato che non si lascia trovare e delle cose che non si lasciano afferrare. Grazie con l'augurio di una bella giornata.

Wonderful. There is something about mono photographs that I like. I used to enjoy taking scene like these many years ago when I developed and printed my own ... I have got lazy with a digital camera! Thank you for sharing Anita. Warm greetings, Julie.

I loved to develop, enlarge and print my own photos way back and it was quite easy once you got all the things you needed but the old cameras did limit the number of shots one could take on one reel of film. Still we can take lots of shots with a digital camera and that is one good thing about them Petra. I think using the old black and white camera made one more creative. I do enjoy printing off the odd colour photo now and then ... if I take a good one! Have a lovely weekend. Greetings, Julie.

Nice video, but I have to point out that the photo at 1:35 is not one of Kenna's. The author is Michael Levin and it is, in fact, the cover of his book "Zebrato".
I think you'are right, easy to make mistakes, are so similar... they are all very good!
