Well its true. We are the last bastions of old school gamers. Once we are gone, its gonna go down hill for gaming. Back in the day, I used to lament that rich folks buying 16mb and 32mb graphics card while I am barely managing to play games. 😁😁😁
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is one of the most immersive games I've played. I remember years ago, I was playing Shadow of Chernobyl, in game it was night, and there was a storm, I had to make it to the hospital and I was being chased by mutants and I could hear far away shooting. It took me a while, until I made it to safety, and I still remember standing by the fire, listening to the rain and storm, and I felt cold, but at the same time safe by that fire pit. No other game has made me feel that way.
stalker is extremely immersive, but imo metro's more immersive, especially last light. just the feeling of the coughing, screen shaking when you run out of mask filters, the suspense, the horror, nothing can match that for me. and the graphics are beautiful for such an old game, the lighting, textures, everything. even just something so small as wiping your mask everytime you get blood, mud, or water on it, having to burn cobwebs before walking through them, instead of just a "decoration", everything. it's such a beautiful game. in my opinion, peak metro over 2033 or exodus. you should try it out if you haven't
@@vn20230 Yeah I like the metro franchise too, I bought the bundle on steam like 2 months ago, when it was on sale. I'm about to finish the Stalker trilogy, and then I'll start with Metro. I played Metro (the first one) a while ago, when it first came out, and I remember I had a very good time with it, also I loved its atmosphere, sadly I lost the computer when I had that game so I never finished it, but I'm planning on playing it again soon.

@@vn20230 I'm doing some research about what to play (the original vs the redux versions) because I like the dark atmosphere of the original, that was a bit lost with the redux. Maybe redux with some shader could fix that.
@@sydgerald i believe the only place to buy the originals is the sketchy websites and like hard copies for consoles on ebay and stuff. otherwise you can only play redux, which you can buy from pc xbox store, steam, all that. honestly, the redux still has a dark atmosphere, especially in the parts that aren't in the metro, like in the tunnels, all that. but i agree, the originals have slightly better atmosphere then the redux. but honestly, the redux does a pretty good job of remaking the old ones. hope you find a good one to play!
@@IKmackyou download the game and install and once on the main menu, you can change the language, there is a video showing the path from the main menu to the language selection screen 🫡👍🏻

Definitely! For me its the most favorite absolut goat game, can't name other title I have been actively playing that long, that would still feel fresh rather than nostalgic reruns in 4k

Man, forget all the graphics mods and shit, can we just appreciate how Stalker and Thief are two games with BY FAR the best environmental audio/soundtrack ever created? It's absolutely amazing how the sound always keeps you on edge, how immersive and scary it makes even relatively peaceful areas. 17 years and counting, stil the best.
Thanks for showing us something good right off the bat. The previous versions were more than beautiful enough, but this time they have gone above and beyond again. And it's not only more graphic, but also more immersive and more convenient and comfortable. If you're interested in the previous version, you should find and download it while you can, because it's no longer officially available.

Installed and played perfectly with high fps 1440p on my r5/6700xt, default settings other than resolution. LOVE the ledge grabbing included!!! I love to put on invisibility and just climb the environment!
How'd you manage to get it to work? I installed it, including the patch but do I just open the game from Anomaly launcher or from the Mod Organizer? Plus I don't have any mods on the mod organizer. It just shows 0.
I must say, this is the first time I use a modpack and it is pretty right out of the box. I have played EFP, I have played GAMMA, also Anomaly alone. I realy liked GAMMA but this is my new favourite. It is beautiful and nailed the atmosphere. So far I did not encounter any bugs or crash.
Having just installed the latest Anomaly with SSS related addons and Gamma without much hassle after seeing many videos about the two - THIS is the comment I was looking for! Neither look like the RUclips videos so I got to try Custom tomorrow! Thanks ☢️

Looks phenomenal but it's not 17 years old! The Anomaly engine was forked from xRay after CoP and constantly reworked and kept up to date, with DX11 and all the trappings, so it's effectively a modern engine, with cutting edge post processing (reshade) on top of it. It's no less impressive if you say that way and surely more appreciative of all the work modders put into the engine.
4090 does the job well and runs this mod @120fps+ in 4k maxxed, but funny thing is its squeezeing all the juices out of it drawing max allowed tdp of 430w 450watts so its fcking burning
My main issue with the original Stalker series is that the more grass and foliage is there, the worse your game experience is. Unlike Far Cry 2 for example (I'm taking a game of that era) the grass does not mean sheet to your enemies: they see you clearly as long as the view is not blocked by the terrain. So it is pretty common situation when you are killed by bush or grass patch, and can't even see what killed you. As much as this is realistic, it is not fun to play a game like this. I hope they could fix this specific issue in Stalker 2, although both devs and modders seem to disregard it for some reason.

No problem I made a community post about this, its like you said, this yet another 1 click anomaly modpack, but this one calls simply Custom, Anomaly Custom. Its been rereleased couple of days ago and it has latest graphical mods updated
Try out the Gunslinger adaption for SoC. It doesn't look this good but it's a step in the right direction. You can combine it with the textures for Radiophobia 3.
Aside from looking great, is "Anomaly Custom" focused like GAMMA on survival/Hobo economy? Or is it more narrative? Or would you say it is more barebones in terms of content?

You can. There's just a couple addons that you gotta disable on the mod manager. Can't remember which ones they were, but it was pretty easy to figure out which. I can't stand the taunts mod and struggle to fathom who thinks that it isn't just annoying as all hell. Especially with the Tarkov USEC voice for the mercs mod, which doesn't fit the setting and also has the mercs call folks in the Zone 'russkis', which is just wrong on so many levels.

how does this modpack compare to EFP when it comes to combat, progression and difficulty? I saw that it doesn't support Mags Redux which is a huge bummer.
No idea, I will finish EFP Iron Man playthru and will start new one with this, but I suspect it wont be so fun as efp with gunplay focused edits, which is fine too
this looks great. but for some reason i cant get stable 60 fps in rookie village. I have radeon 6800 so maybe my GPu is to weak, but weird thing is that changing graphic options like grass shadow, lightning, grass density and all that stuff does nothing. i'am still gonna play it and iam very thankful that i stumbled on this video.

It looks amazing! Would it be possible to make gunfights as intensive as they are in GAMMA? Or are they comparable already? I'm trying to get into Anomaly modpacks, but both GAMMA and EFP are a little bit too complicated on the survival side (I'm already working two jobs, don't need another one ;) ).

My 4070 is going to cry for mercy
actually runs really good on my 3090 in 3840x1620 ultrawide. 70-80 fps in rookie village
On rx 6600 there are constant drops of up to 40-30 fps due to the accumulation of vfx effects
My 3060 is handling it just fine at 1440p/60fps.
My caleron n95 won't

After rtx 2070, it doesn’t matter what video card you have. The game engine is outdated and does not support multithreading.
Every time i try to push anomaly to something not even as good looking as this, the game just stops working..

Everything is good in this modpack, but reload animation on 4:58 is very strange. It looks like character pulls new magazine from 4th dimension.
I’m playing Stalker Gamma but this just looks truly amazing. What mod is this exactly? And are there any addons you could list? There’s allot in the description so I’m not entirely sure what to download, if you could let me know I’d appreciate that allot. Many thanks
And here I am playing Anomaly knowing that if I tried this mod, my 1080 would cry. Looks amazing though. I still wonder what kind of black magic Stalker modders pull off to make a 17-18 year old game look like it was released in 2023 or 2024.
1080 should handle it fine. Just trim the grass.

You can. There's just a couple addons that you gotta disable on the mod manager. Can't remember which ones they were, but it was pretty easy to figure out which.
I can't stand the taunts mod and struggle to fathom who thinks that it isn't just annoying as all hell. Especially with the Tarkov USEC voice for the mercs mod, which doesn't fit the setting and also has the mercs call folks in the Zone 'russkis', which is just wrong on so many levels.

how does this modpack compare to EFP when it comes to combat, progression and difficulty? I saw that it doesn't support Mags Redux which is a huge bummer.
No idea, I will finish EFP Iron Man playthru and will start new one with this, but I suspect it wont be so fun as efp with gunplay focused edits, which is fine too

this looks great. but for some reason i cant get stable 60 fps in rookie village. I have radeon 6800 so maybe my GPu is to weak, but weird thing is that changing graphic options like grass shadow, lightning, grass density and all that stuff does nothing. i'am still gonna play it and iam very thankful that i stumbled on this video.
i turned off fps limit and now it's above 70 fps. I left my comment so maybe in slight chance this could help someone .

@@minecraftparkourredditstories Set this slider to 0. I assume this unlocked my fps limit. But tbf i'am just guessing. I'am not the brightest bulb and i'am kinda doing stuff and see what happens. But this definetly gave my quite few fps. And for sure its not 0 fps :) Sorry for my english. i'am kinda on the run now and don't have time to spell check.

It looks amazing! Would it be possible to make gunfights as intensive as they are in GAMMA? Or are they comparable already? I'm trying to get into Anomaly modpacks, but both GAMMA and EFP are a little bit too complicated on the survival side (I'm already working two jobs, don't need another one ;) ).
Sure it would, add one of them warfare warzone mods to add this roguelike action mode. I also am no leaving rookie village without these

Превратить обычный оригинальный сталкер в шедевр, можно. Но для этого нужно несколько модификаций и текстурпак если он вообще если для сталкера.
Шедевр ли если без новой графики это всë тот же Зов Припяти? Лучше бы с таким упорством воссоздавали вырезанный контент. Даже банального излома или кота-баюна никто не может сделать по диздокам, везде это просто псы с другими моделями и звуками. Или сделать чтобы нпс использовали укрытия как в ЧН
