While I applaud the urgency, 50-4's engineer needs to be a tad bit more careful. The way the engine was leaning as it took the corner -- if there had been a patch of ice anywhere on that road and the engine had ticked it, 50-5 would have been responding to an apparatus-involved MVA in addition to a car fire. We cannot help anyone if we're dead.

It was a warmer day with no ice in site, the puddle of water in the turn lane clearly shows that. As for the lean, the driver had full control and knows the rig better than any of us.

@@EastCoastEmergency You can know your rig and still tip it. Ask any engineer who's ever done so. No, warm weather, cold weather, no weather, they need to air on the side of caution. We're no good to anyone dead.

You seemed to have missed the part where I said he was in full control. You are the one that brought up the ice so I told you the weather conditions that day.

@ No I saw that point and I stand by what I said. Full control can become loss of control in a split second, even in good weather. The first duty of a fire engineer/chauffeur is to ensure that the apparatus and its company arrive alive and in working order at the scene.
They took the corner faster than was required for a fire that threatened at most a single tree, which wouldn't have been a great loss in the grander scheme. I should know, I also don bunker gear from time to time.
