Thanks for delving into Imperium and covering it on your channel. I enjoyed your rather novel approach to the board game review too.

I am enjoying the new owl theme going on. The game sounds really intriguing. I love the level of deck management it seems to ask for. I am also impressed when a game comes out with this much art. I can't imagine the effort the artist had to put forward to create it all. The lack of player interaction is the main thing that gives me reservations. Thanks for the insightful review!

Hurrah for the Owls! Interaction or no this is a very fun game to play and it's such an interesting topic too. Well worth trying out :)

The barbarian -> civilised problem reminds me of the talk about civilizations from Crash Course World History: ruclips.net/video/n7ndRwqJYDM/видео.html

Glad to have found your site - BG Games forum. Your review was excellent. I'm addicted to it - I mostly lose (solo playing Macedonia versus Persia) - although I can't explain why I love it so much. The art may be key and I tend to like interesting card games like Pax Pamir 2nd ed. I've played 17 times always the same Mac ver Per and still I enjoy it. I'll have to make myself change up civs at 25 plays. Any recommendations?

As long as you're enjoying it that's what matters. But I defeinitely feel that addictive nature of the game, you always want to give it one more go! I found my best success was playing as the Vikings since their strategy is very straightforward. Thanks for watching and best of luck exploring all the other civilizations!

I just got the game and love it so far. I think you make great points, but for me all the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. Also I'm super excited about the strong solo mode. Which might end up how I play the game the most, because it will let me interact with this puzzle and maybe omit some of the negatives.
Ugh, I was really disappointed about the rulebook though. I think the current rulebook works great (or at least good enough) as a reference, but I could really use a "learn how to play" rulebook.
And thanks for the great review :)

I love it too, despite it's flaws. So much so I even picked up the Legends version a little while back :P And as long as you're enjoying it that's all that matters.
Enjoy the plays and thanks for tuning in!
