- Shortly after it premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, Collider's Steve Weintraub spoke with Adam Sandler and Carey Mulligan, stars of the new romantic space drama, Spaceman. Directed by Johan Renck (Chernobyl), the film follows Jakub (Sandler) on his solo mission to the Chopra Cloud, a mysterious purple nebula. While floating aimlessly around his ship, dealing with loneliness and the fear that his relationship with his pregnant wife (Mulligan) on Earth is falling apart, Jakub meets a bizarre stowaway (voiced by Paul Dano) who accompanies him on his emotional journey.
Ahead of its Netflix release, Sandler and Mulligan sat down to chat about this opportunity to work together, something Mulligan says she'd always hoped for but never expected, how they both got attached to the project, and why production for this movie was so special for Mulligan. They talk about their team-up with the streaming giant, which of Sandler's movies Mulligan recommends, and an upcoming stand-up special Sandler currently has in the works.

They found the right actors to play the starring roles and Adam and Carey nailed their characters so well and regarding Paul Dano, he didn't disappoint me at all, I'd like to see him in slasher films. Actually, I've been a fan of Dano since he played the Riddler's character in The Batman movie, which amazed me as much as the whole cast.
They had more chemistry in this interview than in the movie. They should’ve done a comedy together.

not a sandler fan but he was norm's friend, so.. he's okay. here for carey mulligan. one of my favourite actors and she was in shame, which is a great film, despite the misogynists she worked with.
What a waste of Space this Spaceman movie is. Very dreary movie, so they decided to try make it more interesting by having a spaceman have Hallucinations of a Giant spider, that annoyingly kept calling him Skinny Human, Skinny Human, throughout the movie.
