Hi, totally non techno person here - trying to plug the power cord into the keypad. which side of the adapter goes toward the unit? There are 2 sides to the plug - one looks like a zipper - the other has 4 lines on it. when I plug it in, does the zipper side face me or the unit? Thank you!
I had a keypad that had no sound and I called ring. And they sent me a replacement at no cost. They also sent a prepaid package to sent them the old one back. I was hoping they would sent me the 2nd gen keypad. But no I'm stuck with the fisher price version.
I've heard at least three other people complain about the battery swelling on the first gen keypad. Sounds like a concerning issue. Luckily I only have second gen keypads and I never heard anyone complain about this in the second gen keypads.
possibly the heat from the oven and coffee machine and not being in a ventilated area probably didnt help matters, worth considering for future installation

Does the keypad have to be plugged in 24/7?
I guess it doesn't have to be but who wants to remember having to charge up a keypad? I just leave it plugged in lol
@@GarageGoals four years later has your replacement system failed or not?

Lipo batteries are great when they work but when they don’t 💥
I keep my RC batteries in an old ammo can just in case.
Please dispose of properly.
They asked me to send it back for research 😯
ring should have recalled them
