My Crime Scene and Bloodbath boy, Dexter, is really starting to develop that deep red on his tail, can't wait to see him all brightened up like his dad! He's finally starting to come around to us on his own sometimes too.

Love the updates on the tegus! What is a winter coat and how long does it stay for?
They produce a thicker shed during winter to protect them when they are underground. Possibly to help insulate as well. It sheds once they wake up for spring. These guys shed a little early because they are kept indoors.
