I like how the wings of the thinderchief touch with the fuselage, it makes it look somehow like the F-35 but lighter

Thanks so much James. That makes it easy to understand. This is why motion rc is my go to source for my airplanes and information.

Making it into a 90mm would be sweet for the F-105!

It would be a sweet model, but I wonder if it'd scare pilots off like the F-104 seems to do

Sure would be awesome to get that Thunder chief in a 90mm

If you calculate the scale of the 90mm Freewing F-104 using the wingspan, you’ll get 1/9th scale, but if you use the fuselage length, you’ll get 1/11th scale. However, the length might have been measured differently for the model or the real thing..

It only really works if model is built in per portion to real plane. Often flying models have altered dimensions to allow improved flying characteristics, especially the size of the wing.

True, I should have said that but Bob is correct. Most warbirds have exagerated vertical stabs as a full real scale would produce a harder model to fly

@@MotionRC Yes, I know about Reynolds numbers and what happens when you scale an airplane down and fly it in air that hasn’t also been scaled down. I’ve only been flying R/C for 58 years.. ;-)
