Oh my... that bass is outstanding! Only Kraftwerk to make the most unbelievable sound. I was in a Kraftwerk concert back in September 2022, when it started, I felt like I was in another galaxy! Greatest night of my life so far!

I was so fortunate to get a test pressing of the Autobahn LP before it was released to play on my radio show in Chicago in the 70's. Mercury/ Philips had their HQ in Chicago and the A&R man Robin McBride knew I had been playing the first two imports so he brought me the test pressing and when I tracked the whole side the phones lit up right away, Got to interview Ralf and Florian when they came to Chicago on thier first US tour. When I went to Germany in 1977 got to see their Kling Klang studio and stayed at Florian's.

They were around much earlier than that my friend, their initial albums from 1970-1975 were mostly German lyrics, in 1975 Kraftwerk began writing lyrics that combined both German and English lyrics. I remember when their 4th album came out in 1974 Autobahn great album, they really were ahead of their time, when you listen to Autobahn you would think it came from the early 80's. They were the pioneers of electronic music and the synth sound !!

    Interesting point/fun fact:
Back in the day, when Kraftwerk were first gaining popularity, their stated intention was to completely remove themselves from live performances. They wanted to pre-program the entire show, and have mannequins on stage. Later, they attempted performing remotely, from their homes. Sadly, the world wasn’t as far thinking as the boys were. Now…… here they are. Still forced to be there in person.

I've always dug Kraftwerk, but it is more like a corporation now. Not the original line-up anymore. Remixes of old recordings. The weird thing about digital music is that it always sounds the same, so the concert I saw in Chicago in the early 80's sounded identical to the old vinyls that I have. Of course, it's different for people who never experienced the band early on, or are enthralled by the visuals, robots, etc., and heck, I'm an old fart.

this is interesting .. from the ruins of post-war germany came kraut rock, and then Kraftwerk. So much better than the Beatles or some hair metal hogwash of California.
However once popular, the band did get institutionalized, staged and gentrified. Their music was super inspirational yet this cheering masses inside an old auditorium is not.
