I’m starting 2024 in my studio/gallery working on a Solo Exhibition set for July. I am always available for appointments, studio/gallery tour and workshop questions. Best to you in this New Year!
I love your work! I have been doing lampwork for 15 years, but am just starting to fuse. Your creative ideas are far better than I have seen in the fusing world! Thank you for sharing. 😀
2022 has brought about many changes for me. My new studio/gallery is now located at 412 Chestnut Street still in Manchester, NH - actually 130 steps around the corner from my previous space! I’m available for workshops and open for visitors. See you soon.
Hi Verne I am a fellow glass artist and have been doing glass leave in groups hanging from glass branches mounted on glass back ground just love doing them and so pleased to see a someone else with the same passion Dianne
Happy Holidays and thank you to viewers and patrons through ‘another’ uncertain year. What I know for certain - is that connections through respect, kindness and appreciation continues to save the some form of humanity. See you in the New Year!
Hi. Verne, I absolutely adore your fall leaves, being from north western Maine ( Gods Country). If I had a nickel for everyone who stopped in front of my house for photos I’d be a millionaire. Lol. Now living in Fl I absolutely miss the foliage season and your leaves bring it all back to life. I do have a question and it is how do you mount those gorgeous leaves to your frames. I’d love to try one in my kiln here in Fl and what a statement piece they are.
Hi Verne, I was wondering if you could share where you purchased your powder pistol. I have a-longer one and is much harder to control. Thank you in advance, Sandi
So sorry I'm delayed in this response. It is fused glass powder also know as frit. A search should give you information close to you - or send me an email with more questions. thank you
very nice piece! what's the purpose of putting those pieces of glass tubes on the powder? my guess would be to create the holes on the leaf, but the right side had a large hole and didn't have a piece on it.
Hello Jeff - the little round glass pieces are solid as opposed to the powders. They are cut pieces of cane or millefiori. They contain multiple colors that add organic looking 'spots' on the 'leaves'. The holes are create by an intentional low level of glass powder that retracts in the firing process. Thank you for your interest!
When you put it in the kiln the second time to slumo it. What temp do you use? And how do you keep it from cracking when you heat it the secknd time? Do you have to anneal it?
I do use a ‘slump’ firing which includes annealing. Top temperature reaches 1235F. If you’re experiencing cracks it may be firing to fast. Thank you for your interest and feel free to email with questions.
Is it possible to fuse the leaves to a sheet of glass. I am thinking of a glass installation where leaves could be fused to larger sheets to form border peaces.
I do offer workshops in my studio/gallery in Manchester, NH. You can contact me directly or visit my web site for more information. There are lots of possibilities. Thank you.
That would be wonderful. Most workshops run about two hours. If you go to my website, there is more info and contacts. Feel free to call with questions.

The frames are shadow boxes and the leaf forms are adhered to the background glass. Allowing light to pass from back to front of framing.
Amazing! Thank you for sharing this.
luemoonba thank you for viewing!
Beautiful and so realistic. Thank you for sharing.
Ellen Wijnands very welcome 😊
Stunning just wow
Oh hey - day late dollar short - THANK YOU very much!

Really nice work.
Thank you so much - truly appreciate that.
what is the little tool used to dispurse powder for the leaf veins? Thank-you
Verne, great authenticity but where is your buy or support link? 11,000 views and you would think you could direct supporters your way! Blessings!
I appreciate your interest. I'll get me, myself and I on that. My artist skills outweigh my marketing updates.

Las hojas suelen estar en un marco de caja de sombra para colgar.

Short answer yes, but a quicker and easier method for that might be (to search) the 'powder wafer' technique. thank you
Verne Orlosk Your work is incredible. Would you share the firing program ? I'm just finished building my new kiln and now must learn how to use it.
Shoot me an email - contact on my web site.
Wow! What is that tool called that you put the powder in and it helps make your straight lines?
Debbie Wilson the one I have is a prototye, but I believe the one you can purchase is just a vibrating tool for glass powder. Thank you.
Closest I've ever come to doing this type of work was when I made peanut brittle.
😂😂😂😂😂
What kind of powder was put on at the end before placing your leaf in the kiln?
Although it appears white - it’s actually a clear powder.
Thanks
Been in lockdown for over a year, found imagination in trees, found catweazle, is it possible
to get my coloured drawing to you...David J Robinson...

I will be providing workshops again starting 2021 - hopefully!
So beautiful. I love them framed. Are they mounted on wood or framing matte?
jacksonsoco sorry for delay here - they are glued to matte glass, matted around that and then placed behind front glass in a shadow box.
Do you mind sharing what "type" of glue you use to mount the leaves? Thank you 😊
I would love to take a class with you I'm e CT
