Ray, another excellent and very helpful video from yours! I am watching all your videos for my PMP preparation study. I was lucky to find your youtube channel! Thank you very much :)
Hi, I disagree with the wording and the answer in question 4 - it mentions during the development phase. Which I understand is the execution phase (i.e. Developing deliverables), it also mentions ('may' violate PII = i.e. Risk) which could mean risk register or charter. Can you clarify how you have linked it between initiation and planning? Thanks
There is nothing called 'developing deliverables' in PMBOK. Also, there is a difference between 'reviewing' and 'updating'. Hence Risk Register is not correct.
With reference to question number 3, you mentioned that we have to "document change request" and then proceed to analyze the impact on baseline.. But what I understand is that we need to analyse the impact on baselines first coz, we need to check if the change can be managed by the PM or it need to go through the CCB. There are certain changes where there is an exception such as 1) Before the baselines get updated, PM has full authority to make a change 2) If it does not impact the baselines, then the PM can proceed to make the change In both the scenarios, we need to analyse first before we document the change request.. isn't it? Can you please clarify as to why you mention it otherwise? I have gone through the other video too and I am still confused
Hi. Thank you for asking your doubt. Unfortunately, your understanding of ICC flow is not correct...may I know from were you got this understanding? Definitely not PMBOK or any standard text book? Are you using your own experience of doing projects to develop the flow? I need to know this before I clarify your doubt.
Yes, I guessed it. See, for PMP, always think of answers in PMBOK way. I have explained the same in my videos as well. Don't bring external frameworks in your consideration, otherwise you will always end up choosing wrong answers...
Superb Ray... very simple and clear. Great teacher you are. Keep up the good work. I am already watching an another authors udemy class where i have a bit issues with understanding his english as he is a native speaker. But your teaching is awesome and can be understood by anyone. Fantastic, I'm about to appear in the test within three weeks from now. I realize how it easy to understand the criticality of the test by your UT session. I'm unfortunate to know about your UT so late. Thanks & Regads
Ray - This is Superb. I admire the way you've approached & listed down logical sequence to approach situational questions. Very unique and novel. keep up the good work
It is good if you make individual chapter video of the PMBOK guide. Till now I am very happy with the work you are doing. This is just the request if possible.
Hello Ray. I have some doubts in question 2 of Integration management. According to me option D seems to be the right answer in the given scenario: Let's assume that the project manager approaches the Finance dept. directly, which is a usual exercise in real-life situations. But since answer C also states "...delay the project", it becomes invalid because the sponsor wants to close the project early; and the project manager cannot ignore the sponsor's early closure request, as long as the request is within the boundaries of business ethics (or unless the scenario would suggest that an early closure of the project is not viable). With answer C appearing invalid (based on what I just explained), the only valid choice the project manager is left with, is answer D.
Hi Zeal, option D is incorrect because it is not portraying the servant leadership & collaborative attitude of the PM. The sponsor is not the 'boss' of the project. You can always challenge the sponsor's request with the correct datapoints.
I believe in this situation there is no impact to the project baselines due to the delay. It seems only some paperwork pending with the vendor. So no problem to wait for the vendor to sort out the problem with the invoice and then formally close the project.
Hi Ray, Please clarify the answer for the second question. You are saying , correct answer is option 3, but in that it was mentioning -the delay the project closure till the issue is solved. Is it correct?
Yes, that's correct. In this case, delaying the project closure does not impact your customer. For him, the project is already done. But, you need to sort this issue out with your supplier before you close the project formally...
Hi Pavel...The only questions I have found which replicate the difficulty level of PMP exam are the 200 set questions from PMI. I have one video on how to access those. Have a look. You can try PrepCast simulators as well...I heard they are good...

HI ray, it is really useful!!however, I was confused when you talked about development project phase and in the question analysis it looks like it meant project initiating phase! I thought it meant executing, is this language / wording stated somewhere in PMBOK?or is that a common uderstanding?
I'm totally enjoying your sessions. They are very clear...they actually have me very excited to continue with what I thought at first to be a very daunting task. Thank you and thank you 👍
Question 2: option d seems a better choice than c. A project manager cant sit idle for vendor to re-submit claims and who knows how long will it gonna take. Its like you have everything done but still SPI will be less than 1 and so much to answer for this delay. On a lighter side - I would love to delay for resubmission than joining a new project.. Just for fun :-)
In question 4 you eliminated option B (risk register) because it is probably not yet done. In question 5, shouldn't the option B also be eliminated for the same reason, instead of your argument of not being inclusive? Am I right to think about it this way?
No. For Q4, risk register is primarily eliminated because you will not find PII guidelines in risk register....for Q5 it is eliminated because it's not a professional PM approach (blaming & fault finding)...

Hi, I have a doubt about question 4. The option "Statement of work" does not mean the agreements and contracts? As the agreement is one of the inputs to develop the charter. Can you clear me, why we need not consider choice 4 is wrong, please?
@@PMPwithRay "Development phase of a project" means the project is under the initiation phase only. Also, the PII is a governance issue, the project charter is the right answer. Now I understood. Thank you so much.
On question number 1. Shouldn’t A be the answer? You cannot handover a project to operation without formal acceptance of the deliverable. For answer to be D. I think the correct explanation is that the phrase “completed an application development” means you have already secured a formal acceptance. And the reason you keep getting requests is that you haven’t formally handed over to operations. Would love to hear your thoughts?
Hello. 'Handover' of a project is a process and not a 1-time thing. Handover involves closing all the pending items of the project as well...the second part as you explained is another way of looking at it.
@@PMPwithRay Hello Ray Thanks for your educational videos. On this question I am also of the view that option A should be right choice. As without Formal Acceptance of the deliverables by the customer ,project hand over can't happen. Please suggest on this 🙏
In question4: Hi Ray, wanted to understand - The Project Charter once done and approved will not be changed so how do we review it again? it is not a iterative process.
Hi Chethana. Thank you for watching & commenting. reviewing here means referring to the charter. So, what you are essentially doing it is scanning the same for any mentions of PII terms & conditions. And yes, project charters do get revised if a formal ICC process documents it.
Please consider adding it as a bonus for users of your mock stimulator. I am almost through with the practice tests. They are really tough! I mean tasking.
In question number 4, it says during the development of the project. This made me confuse that it might be execution phase and I deleted exactly two right options at the first. How to get over such confusion?
The project is in development in the initiation phase only Sanket. Can you explain what made you think that development of a project happens during execution as well?
Development of project scope and business case. Whenever you see the term 'development' in actual PMP exam, take it in context of Initiation or Planning (unless stated otherwise)

On question number 1. Shouldn’t A be the answer? You cannot handover a project to operation without formal acceptance of the deliverable.

In question number 4, it says during the development of the project. This made me confuse that it might be execution phase and I deleted exactly two right options at the first. How to get over such confusion?
The project is in development in the initiation phase only Sanket. Can you explain what made you think that development of a project happens during execution as well?
Development work of the deliverables or actual work of on product's development.
Development of project scope and business case. Whenever you see the term 'development' in actual PMP exam, take it in context of Initiation or Planning (unless stated otherwise)
Thanks
