I do commissions, but I’m pretty selective of what I’ll do and these boxes are very tedious to make, so I don’t do them anymore.

This was a cool project, I liked the idea of putting the sticky velvet on plywood before gluing it in. Much easier and adds a little more substance to the box.

FYI, the original Barrow Hepburn & Gale red boxes are made from 'hard-grown pine' (whatever that means??) and covered in rams hide.
