Having traveled to Japan it really impresses me to see the level of English that is spoken in Vietnam over Japan. Both are great countries, but Vietnam is ok with making mistakes when learning and it helps them to improve much faster in their ability to not just write, but speak the language. I'll be heading there next year once the borders open it. I love Vietnam! From America.
😂😂 I wouldn't criticize the last girl lol. I think she meant " I speak American English" but probably becuz of the camera she got panicked and ended up saying "I'm American" lol
Ikr. I’m Vietnamese and I’m still in middle school (yeah ik I’m a kid) and you won’t believe how Vietnamese students speak English there. Their accents are the same as the girl in this video and plus they’re familiar with making mistakes in their grammar, speaking and just everything. I have my mother guiding me ever since I was born , she would spend all her time coming up with new English lessons for me and I even get to watch some English programs and interviews in America when I was still a child. That’s how I got good at English and kids at my school are literally jealous cause I’m better than them lol.
Simple. You live in an English speaking country (Western part maybe) , you don't study English because it's not included in your school's curriculum and it's basically your first language. Edit: You maybe a Vietnamese but you don't live in vietnam. I hope I got my deduction right.
Languages can be acquired only either by intentionally studying it or unwittingly picking it up by being exposed to it from an early age. And from what you said, the former doesn't apply to your case. Now the answer is clear as day
Millions of Korean students are pouring a colossal amount of money and time into English education but only a small portion of them can speak good English.. Everybody knows and agrees that there are serious problems and defects in the Korean English education systems but nobody dares to come forth to rectify them. I doubt the education policy makers are not aware of the difference between having a huge body of English grammar and vocabulary knowledge and actually knowing how to put it to use to practically speak English. There are so many things that don't make sense going on here in Korea.. (Just in case anyone wonders how I managed to write this verbose comment in English, neither have I studied abroad nor did I follow the official curricular. I just started learning it on my own in my own way. It's not the result of the Korean English education system.)
Err I find Vietnamese English is some of the hardest to understand, granted more Vietnamese speak it than most of SE Asia, but the education on how they learn focusing mostly on grammar, and using heavy Vietnamese tones and accents on it make it very hard to understand. I get Vietnamese understand it but isn't the point of learning English to speak to natives. They all seem to miss speak all words that ended with E too, "Im Vietnameeeee, I lieee to go to the market" ... >

Cool video! Many thanks to the author of the channel! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.
They are surprisingly good at English, but at the same time, I think there would be a lot of misunderstandings if they had a conversation with a native English speaker. That isn't kind of surprising, generally you can make a lot of mistakes in English and it would still make sense. Maybe it is because they are more confident and use more challenging sentences idk
There is a grammar mistake in the title. There should not be a question mark at the end. Maybe there would be a question mark if it said "Do Vietnamese students speak English?"
Last girl is not a native speaker I guess. It's okay to admit you're not a native speaker than pretending you are one of them. Just saying about the last girl. You are good speaker compare to her. :)

True though. Typical schools in Viet Nam would just teach English like it is Chemistry.
