Respect to Theo Maras for showing the respect to Max Liberman, the developer of the East End and West Lakes, not to mention Para Hills, Tea Tree Gully, Tranmere etc. The pity is you search his name on the internet, and all you get is a 2014 article in the Advertiser announcing his death. Seriously, a statue should be erected in the heart of Adelaide in memory of this great man.
Excellent interview Todd, you’ve really found your niche! Some fantastic pearls of wisdom from Theo. Like you, I find it really interesting to see how these people think and operate. Keep up the good work.
Great to hear, I didn't get the bit about why he flew out to Sydney to get the guy with the big wallet, if there wasn't one thing but thousands of good ones that set him up. Very insightful.
@@pizzaandproperty1246 Theo doesn't say anything about any struggling, or such, just comes out with 'he had a big wallet ', and obviously with that comes the key to the gateway with those who are of their persuasion. So, while garnering investors, partners and backers, call them what you will, flying across the country seems overblown, especially as the guy then flew to Theo, if I'm following the tale correctly? Cheers.
Theo flew to Sydney to pitch the deal to Max Lieberman. He obviously did a good job, because Max decided to fly back with him to inspect for himself. Remember the era - these guys were all about face to face, and a hand shake. So, Max enabled the deal for Theo, made a boat load of cash, and was playing the game he loved. Without each other, it wouldn’t have happened. At their level of wealth, it’s more about the deal and playing the game. Theo states the same, and I believe him.

Totally a combination or hard work and lots of small good choices 🙂 What bit didn't you understand about Theo flying to Sydney?
