I just love how Americans questions BMW's ability to drive on snow like the cars were not made in Germany... How tf do you think German, Swedish, Norwegian BMW drivers get around from November to March?
Why did he even name the video that. Can you drive M4 550hp in the snow. Uggghh it’s so dumb. Of course a car can drive in the snow with winter tires. 💀🤮🤣
I drove my 316ti through a snowstorm to get to physio, i was late and had to drive back and got stuck in a 4 hour traffic. People always said like "uhh its rearwheel when winter comes you are gonna feel it" and honestly if you are a pretty good driver and understands when it will slip out(low speed only afcourse) and how to use the slide instead of fighting it, its so much fun and not an issue practically. Its like controlled chaos, where a front wheel would either be controlled or in chaos. If you slide out in a FW like its so jarring comparatively. Its harder to get there. But if you do its much worse because your only option is basically the brake, and on snow thats not good. I get it though 500HP in snow, RW drive thats a cocktail for chaos. But at that point its just throttle control. If you are driving it hard in the snow, you are asking for trouble.
May I suggest, fill the boot/trunk with bags of cement or even people you don't really like. You should then be able to compensate the traction over the power going to the rear wheels...
Good winter tires and snow is no issue. Just some hills can be unclimbable. Have some chains ready for emergency and that's it. Putting weight in the trunk also improves traction on rear tires.
man what a beautiful car, not the hardest snow tho but i think this car is capable of doing some heavy snow too, just need some good tires nice car man
they are essentailly the same car! having F80 and F82 both together is actually dumb... like M4 Coupe & M4 Convertible side by side. if you want "family" car, stay with M3, if not - M4. why both? having M4 & let's say M5 is more accurate - they are made to do different things.
@@konradmanko2303 Yeah I get that but I’m a huge fan of both the F80 and the F82; I think the F80 M3 is the best looking sedan ever made and the F82 M4 is one of the best looking coupes ever made too. If you speced them out differently (one with a manual, other with a DCT + different color combos) then one could justify having both an F80 and a F82.
People in the comments talking about rwd in the winter.I don't think it's the point of video. It's about about power.I drive 535d stage1.And the problem is that car has over 700nm of torque.DSC flashes at 1k rpm, so the point of the video is ''can you drive a 550WHP car in the snow''

I don't know why people think a lot of power is bad in the snow. With the right tires, a bit of snow is not big deal. Is a RWD car ideal in the snow? No. But it's doable if you have nothing else. I personally would not drive that kind of car in winter weather... there are better vehicles to take the abuse of salt and chemicals that are put on roads, not to mention other idiots that might slide into you... and all the pot holes and general terrible conditions of roads during the winter. That clearbra you have on the side of the car looks terrible BTW.
throttle control. with power most people can't control the throttle well enough to maintain traction. combine that with not knowing how to countersteer and it causes problems
Drove through snow with bald-ish summers on my 330. At one point i couldnt leave the parking spot since all the snow around the car created small bumps. Other than that it is definitely doable.
rims look fine for winters but any car with good winter tires is fine in the snow doesn't matter how much power it has no idea what ur talking about 😂 if u have good snow tire on any car as long as it's not super slammed is fine
yea guy put on some good snow tires and drive it have went threw stupid amounts of snow on closed roads in a 323i works fine but u will fill up ur front grills but who gives a fuss
Well thats completley not true. Just becouse you have winter tires it doesent make RWD with tons of horsepower safe. Ofc its no problem to an experienced driver but if you put a random joe who has never driven something like that before it would be a dangerous situation. To much gas on icy snow with that much HP and you will be off the road.
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Not true at all. You're either just talking out of your ass or you barely get any snow where you are. Where I live a car would get stuck leaving home and rear wheel drive vehicles are unsafe as hell on the highway, especially when you have to go uphill/downhill. Just because your car is moving doesn't mean your driving well in the snow. I'd like to see you try and maintain 110km/h on highways in a rear wheel drive car. A prius would drive better in the snow than a rear wheel drive BMW lol....
@@zt2207 well your not a good driver its not the car its the driver have went 180kmh on ice covered high give zero f*cks about you 110kmh mongi the f*ck out of every road in the going 100km easy 😂 and we dont get tons of snow in ontario but enough to have snow covered roads and rwd is perfectly fine if theres a hill get speed if theres a drift get speed common sense and rwd stop the exact same as any other cars so meh

Secondly you mention unsafe conditions yet you also say that a rwd would have trouble going 110km/h. What kind of fucking logic is that? Why would you go 110km/h if slippery due to ice and snow?
After watching this short video I can say for sure that the title is only a question that the author of the video is prompting us...however the answer is that we cannot drive on the snow and he cannot handle his own car at all :) if you were wondering how to drive a sport car on the snow here is a real video ruclips.net/video/E5YBKkVnop0/видео.html
Its opposite on highways it is safe because its straight with no bends. RW mean you are gonna slip in a turn, not going forward. It brakes the same as any other car. But on twisty backroads sure this is not the time for speed. But thats the cool thing in RW you can have fun while drivingly rather slowly.
Highways are the least issue. Slow and hilly driving are an issue. Once you have momentum the only thing determining safety is the winter tires. And traction control/ skill.
if you get some speed and you keep gently on the throttle to keep weight in the back, its perfectly driveable. And on low speeds, it doesn't matter, just don't mash the throttle unless you are ready to counter steer. Its my first winter in my e46 325, welded diff and no interior for weight reduction, 5$ winter tyres on the rear and it controls fine, to start spinning you actually have to step on it generously, and loss of traction is easily controllable. And on high speeds its irrelevant
