First time swinging a 530 tonne Komatsu PC5500 loading 290 tonne Komatsu 930Es at Wambo Coal Mine, Singleton, NSW for Downer EDI. Turned 20 years old 2 days prior.

@MrChevy247 riiiiiiiiiiiight, thanks for the heads up on that, i do wear glasses and while i worked there for 18 months i could swear it said PC5500 on the side, oh well you learn something every day but curious about this one, i would always order my parts from the PC5500 parts book and they would always fit, go figure?

@MrChevy247 nah nah mate, CLAM SHELL buckets are what hydraulic FACE SHOVELS have, hydraulic FACE SHOVELS. whatever 5500 your on about must be a FACE SHOVEL, not an EXCAVATOR. jump on google images n type in 5500 and you'll see the excavators have normal backhoe buckets, and the face shovels haveclam shell/ bottom dump buckets

@Kurisuchianu89 can you give me the link to a photo of the\is machine cos it's not really possible, if it has a clam shell/bottom dump bucket then it has to be a shovel cos it can't dig with it otherwise, but if you could get me the link to a photo of this machine i'll be convinced

nah not really, hammer and a wishbone. if its really tight, get the torch out, heat it up n expand it, then hammer it
