- Documentary showing all the Crakes and Rails of Australia plus the rare Australian Painted Snipe. These birds are not well known as they are difficult to see in their habitats but they are impressive . Species seen include the Lewin's Rail, Chestnut Rail and Red-necked Crake.Many other waterbirds featured as we journey to many different wetland hotspots around Australia.

@@alanadare7052 YES!!! I am aware that you guys have encountered a wide variety of them, so that would very interesting. Also, I am slightly bias, as parrots are my all-time favourite birds.

Thanks for the new video! My partner and I are new to birding (located in the NSW Riverina region) and love your channel. The species information, range and fun facts you provide are so helpful as we learn about all the species in Aus.
We recently purchased a great pair of binoculars (Nikon m5 monarch) and are now in the market for a reasonably priced camera (I’m studying vet and my partner is a pHD student). Do you have any recommendations? At the moment the front-runner for us is the Nikon Coolpix P1000 - we have read some great reviews about it, but are interested in your experienced opinion!

Lovely to hear that our videos are a help to new birders. Exactly what we want to do. It promotes conservation of habitats.
Your choice of Nikon Coolpix is a good one. We have a friend who uses it with wonderful results.
Greg has been using the Sony Rx 10 mark IV lately. He used it in our April 22 film of Lewin's Rail in the video. It also takes pretty good still shots.
Hope you enjoy many years of birding. The Riverina is a great area and used to be a stronghold for the Snipe. One turned up a few weeks ago for a couple of days at Lake Cargelligo.
