Great vid Rachel awesome blue hour shot but the mono selfie is my fave full of mood and contrast very nice shot. Great footage under the bridge loads of potential for mono shots too top work mate 👍🏼
Good video Rachel, I liked the challenge idea, I did a challenge in the home of Shakespeare in Stratford upon Avon in England it was a lot of fun. If your up for another challenge I may be requesting one with you very soon 😊🙌
Great video well put together. You cheat you!! You said foreground then used yourself. BUT must say it’s a great shot haha. Maybe we should have a challenge how say you
great video rachel , as always..... knew it would be a good challenge. very inventive images and they look great. you as a foreground interest? ....... ok, will let it go : thanks so much for great collab .
looks like you enjoyed your challenge Rachel. I really do worry about you wandering around in such areas especially with your camera gear when it is getting dark though !!! Please take care of yourself :D Nice images as always I must say though I think Nicks bridges were nicer to look at . thanks for posting this :D Teddy
Rachel, I don't think using yourself as a foreground was cheating all that much. Becoming the foreground element provided a nice sense of scale and is a technique I have seen used by travel photographers. The black & white treatment added to the mystery of the shadows and available light. The bridge deck seemed like it would be more "jiggly" than it turned out. If you were more past the expansion joint onto the bridge deck, that might've been an issue. You could certainly hear the cars clunking over the joint. The end result with exposure bracketing gave a nicely exposed pillar as you predicted.
I always appreciate your comments David. Thanks for the kind words about my images! You're right... the bridge likely would have introduced a lot of movement had I been further in. I didn't even think of that. I was still standing near the top of the stairs where the bridge began. Having the streaked car lights as a foreground was actually a happy accident. I was going to just shoot the pillar, crop it, enjoy it for myself, and then move on to find a different foreground, but then I really liked the way it looked. Using myself as a foreground at the other bridge... thanks! I really appreciate that... I wanted to set a mood for that one, and I kind of felt that it needed to have a human element.
Love them both. 10 out of 10 for staying so still with the selfie. Car lights looked great as well.
Thanks Tom! There were a lot of people still going by so I had to give it a few takes. They all looked at me a little strangely. Haha.
@@RachelLerch still a good one.

Thanks Paul!! I thought under the bridge looked really cool too... with all the graffiti and construction going on. :)
Love how the headlights and tails streak across the photo of the bridge pillar while the pillar is in perfect focus.
Thanks Charles! 😊
