The bear has been poking the West in equal measure for just as long as they've been on the receiving end

In 1990 NATO had 300,000 US & 60,000 UK forces based in Europe.
In 2021 NATO had only 30,000 US troops and almost zero UK forces based in Europe.
NATO was not poking the bear - the bear is just being a See You Next Tuesday.
      As are you.

@@badgertheskinnycow Nice try idiot but if you want history then what about the agreements nato signed not to push nato into eastern block countries???? Which they have continuously ignored and broken ???? If nato had tried harder to embrace russia after the commies evaporated in instead of spending the last 34 years trying to destabilize and destroy them then perhaps we wouldn't be in this mess.

Great show as always, much appreciated. Keir Giles and James Sherr have been talking for a very long time about how Russia is at "Total war with the west (so far hybrid)". Is it not time to get them on the Sitrep podcast ?

Its about time we went in with others in a coalition of the willing. Take the burden of securing the northern border with Belarus and humanitarian tasks in the west off of the Ukranians allowing them to solely focus on the combat

Please, could the presenter be less hyped, it is bad for the listener's blood pressure. The subject matter is already sufficiently serious.

Stop interfering in other's business. That way, there is no need to use colours, thereby confusing yourselves.
