Seriously I watch a lot of videos I have never seen any tips like this absolutely amazing
Thank you Wendy!
The pink top looks really flattering.
This was SOOO on point! It took me forever to get why some of these combination looked off and sometimes I just accepted it and ditched some categories of clothing altogether (wide legged pants, winter boots) Now I know better!
So glad to hear!
Exactly!
Your videos are filled with easy to follow tips and straightforward advice. You make fashion uncomplicated and fun especially for us petite girls. It comes across that you spend a lot of time planning and making these videos. Thank you :) .
Thank you! Yes I spend a LONG time to produce and edit each video and try to pack as many useful tips for everybody as I can!
I am a visual learner and appreciate the rules on a petite lady. I am actually shorter than u but this is so helpful
Glad you find it helpful Kate!

It took me years to figure out proportion in fashion. It would have saved me money in fashion mistakes. Thank you for helping the younger generation to not make these mistakes.
I totally feel the same way- we learn through our mistakes!
This makes total sense but controlling volume is one of those things I constantly fail at. Instead of looking at what will work for my body, I fall in love with trends that don't always look good on me. Plus, I love the outfits you've put together especially the wrap sweaters!!
Thanks Kim, yes it’s not easy- you will get better at it over time.
I’m 5’1, 110 lbs and I always feel overwhelmed whenever I try on loose clothes, I feel tiny and sloppy. You’re giving me some hope to try it again. Thank you for the tips.🥰
So glad you find it helpful!
Your visual demonstrations are spot on. I may hear or read these things but they really make sense to me when I see them and hear you explain them. I learn so much from every video you do. xo
Another secret to wide leg trousers, they are really really easy to hide leggings underneath for warmth!
Great tips!
Thank you for this tip!
Or wear 80 denier tights which are thiner but very warm
I personally do not like to wear wide leg trousers, feels so 90's, your correct about the fitted tops , makes a huge difference
I learn so much from your Petite Style videos. It also makes me feel great when you suggest what I have always done, intuitively, as a 5' 1". 110 lb woman. Fit is crucial. No one has sympathy for a size 2P when they say they feel like they look "fat," lol! For Winter, I LOVE little point toe ankle boots.I ordered my first pair of high waist, wide leg jeans after watching your "jeans" video. I didn't think I could wear that style but you changed my mind.
Glad to hear that! Yes, you can definitely wear wide leg- just go with longer length and pair with heels.
Dear Chi, I would love for you to do a video on “dress” trousers (not jeans, leggings or joggers), including flared and wide-leg styles for us petites. I wouldn’t mind if they had stretchy waists, too, I’m thick around the middle, and light colors. Thanks!
I love your channel. So helpful for me and your styling suggestions work no matter the brand of clothing (not expected to buy expensive name brand), or if you sew your own clothes.
Glad you find it helpful Janna!
Lovely video, lots of good tips for us petites! And you don’t spend ages explaining, you get to the point quickly thanks.
Amazing video, full of practical tips.
I also think that the reason we look leaner and longer with sleeves up is because the thin part of the bare arm is sort of disappears so only torso participates in creating the horizontal proportion and thus makes it narrower. That in turn makes us look slimmer. Puffy sleeve down add to the torso volume and create very wide horizontal line.
Something rarely covered thank you for doing this video and the reason shorter sweater don't make you look larger is the rule of thirds, as a photographer I know this rule all to well. You don't center your subject you do rule of thirds. The human eye is drawn to largest object or subject in a photograph. If you put it in the third portion of an image the brain goes that looks better and gives a more attractive look to your subject or image. I dress in a lot of dark colors so I appear as a shadow in my images if I get caught in a reflective surface while working but I wear one items I can easily remove that draws the attention when I am not working. I also learned a trick when wearing a larger sweater so you don't have to ditch all your favorite sweater. You can belt it and pull up so that the belt creates a new bottom to the sweater but make sure to pair it with fitted pants or you look very heavy and try to match the belt to the color of the sweater you are wearing.
I agree with you. And us short gals do look much better when we year heels with wide leg pants. However I’m now in my 70’s and have corrective shoes, so no more heels. But I still appreciate seeing them on everyone else. Warms my heart. And I didn’t realize that when we roll up the sleeves of a large volume top it fools the eye. Thanks for the tips! We all want to look the best that we can.
Glad you find it helpful Nancy.
I've really been enjoying your videos and these are great tips. I'm not petite, but I have short legs relative to my body and your ideas work for me too! I really appreciate how well you explain things, and your visual examples are excellent as well. Thanks for all you do!
Glad you like them Carol!
I have a tip about long boots. My legs are thin so the top of knee length leather boots always stick out at the sides. I always take them to my shoe repairman and have them taken in at the top. It really makes everything more streamlined.
Ani-Thanks for sharing!! Didn't know they can do that!
I am so glad that I found your channel. I am considered petite at 5'4" very slender but long legs and arms. I wear both reg/petite clothing. Your tips really helped me better understand proportions!
Great explanation , easy to understand . Love your styling . I always dress this way 😊 it’s particularly more important for petites . Agree short hems with wide legs pants make us look shorter and wider xxx
You always look so smart! My feet won’t take pointed toes any more, sadly, but these are great tips.
THANK YOU! This video is fantastic and helped me to understand my A-Shape, long torso and short legs better. Seeing you style different clothes is also a big help. I am so thankful that I found you a few weeks ago. I am anxious to watch more of your videos.
You're so welcome, Charlotte! Glad you like them!
I have quite a medium height, but I reeeeaaaally love to elongate my silhouette, and you channel is very cool for me. I learn so many fashion basics and lifehacks from you, even though I wouldn't call myself a complete novice xD I guess many things were just intuitive for me, but putting them in a system and learning new things along the way is refreshing.
P.S. As a fellow youtuber, I noticed that speeding up my video footage where I talk is very helpful, because I can't physically talk very fast, but people nowadays are used to a fast-paced content. So I find 110% speed perfect for videos. Maybe this will help elevate your content level further.
This is such simple advice but it absolutely works. I’ve often fallen into the loose on top and bottom trap. I’ve just tried a slouchy jumper, I was struggling, with a pair of skinny jeans and WOW...it it looks fab. You have a new subscriber! Sending greetings from Scotland🏴
Glad you could apply it, Angela!
I'm not really petite, but I really like your teaching style. I learn a lot!
Awesome! Thank you!
I really appreciate your content and the fact that it focuses on petite dressing. I’m also 5’2” and find it challenging to put together outfits and outfits with shoes, etc. Blessings to you this New Year!
Thank you Renee!
Thank you very much. I never heard of the rule of volume before. You explained it so well with visual examples that are easy to remember that I can now use this "rule" every day with every outfit.
So glad it was helpful!
I am so happy to have found your channel!! Such great advice. My closet is now a new experience! Thank you so much 😊
I’m glad Heather!
I just subscribed. Your videos are incredibly helpful Im a petite mommy that just recently is learning how to dress cute again. Thank you!
Glad you find them helpful Jacquelina!
This Is so helpful -for all body types.. I hadn’t thought to consider balance in fabric volume...thank you for explaining and showing these very valuable style tips with wide leg pant styles, winter sweaters, coats and boots ...you made every style so much better! And that faux fur Moto jacket 🙌🏻 Love it!
Glad you find them helpful Marisa!
Thank you for not using the word frumpy in your videos, I find it a bit demeaning. You always keep it classy and informative, thank you!
Glad you find it helpful!
Thanks for the tips! I’ve tried for years to wear chunky sweaters and even at 5’4 I feel dumpy looking. I’ll try changing the bottoms and the length of the sweater. By the way I love your channel!
Thank you so so much! 💖💖💖
As a very petite woman your channel is a lifesaver
Wow you literally are a fashion genius these tips are amazing and so helpful Much love and appreciation ❤️💕

Wat ik vooral appreciëer is het feit dat er veel foto's bijgegeven worden! Anderen praten te veel.
I love that white puffer coat.. Excellent video x
I learned so much from this video and all your videos in general. Thank you for making them!
Glad you enjoy them Robyn!
Thank you for your videos!! Please keep them coming. I struggle as a petite girl in looking very young or juvenile and im working on getting a closet thats makes me look more my age (late twenties)...any tips on that would be awesome :)
Late 20s is a good time to start adding classic and timeless pieces (trench, blazer etc) that are high quality and last a long time, and then mixing them with trendy pieces you like.
@@PetiteDressing Yess very good points. thanks for the tips!!!
Great tips. Love your videos.
Thank you Liz!
Thanks for the volume tip. I’m 5 4 3/4 so not Pettite. I enjoy your videos.
Great advice, love your outfits, you look gorgeous! I am 5'2 as well
Thank you, Lisa!
You are spot on. It took me years to figure this out! Love your videos. Great information. Thank you so much!
I LOVE your videos!! Keep them coming! So helpful. Thank you.
This volume rule is one I learned a decade ago 👍
I recently started following you and subscribed. You are just the cutest, sweetest thing ever! ❤️
Oh thank you!
I agree! And she certainly knows her stuff! Looking forward to more videos in the future.
@@conniestevensrobeson1582 Me too!
I noticed you had on brown boots with your dark jeans when you were showing the puffer jacket. In other videos you say to wear black boots with your dark jeans to look taller
Angie- if your goal is to look taller, black boots with dark jeans serve the purpose better. I demonstrate different combinations, but go with what serves your goal.
I’m new to your channel and find you a breath of fresh air 😊 thank you 💝
Love your videos - such well thought out and helpful tips!
Thank you Theresa!
A lot of very useful and Amazing information, as usual, thank you 👏

Great tips! and what a beautiful plant you have there!
Thanks so much! 😊
I love your videos, I wonder if you could made a video, on how to wear sneakers if I have short legs❤️❤️
Thank you so much for your insight for petits. Helps so much.
Wonderful video with great tips for we petite women.
Great tips! My problem is being petite yet trying to hide a round belly while being busty
Same
...proportion is SO important for short people....yes, sleeve.length is important!...I dislike long sleeves very much on me..
Another fabulous video ! I lean so much from you. Thank you
Fantastic!
I am Barely 4'11" Thankyou... I need all the help I can get.
I totally agree with your suggestions I'm 5ft 6 inches with big legs i love pointy toe shoes and boots they elongate my legs. Great video!!!
Glad you feel the same way!
Best vlog ❤️❤️😍
Thank you Alexa! 💕
Another great video Chi!
Glad you like it Nancy!
Great ideas!! They all make sense
Thanks for explanation ❤️ excellent advice 🤙
Enjoying your videos. Finding very helpful advise. In this video, there are two pair of shoes I did not find a link for----the pointed toe black shoes worn and the pointy toe beige held up and worn. Need link for both??? Thanks
Wonderful and very helpful advice. Do you think this idea of balancing volume applies to hair as well? I have very voluminous curly hair and sometimes I wonder if that means I should be more careful about voluminous clothing
You are fantastic!
Thank you Chi!👍
i am learning alot, thank you!
Glad I could help!
I just watched one of your videos yesterday about voluminous garments. I cannot find it today. I have searched all your videos. Please tell me where I saw it.
Great pointers!
Fab tips. Thank you 🌼🌸🌼
I’m 64, 4ft 11 and built like a Teletubby. Round and Apple shaped. I’d like to know the best outfits for that height and build. I do like this channel very much and I’m subscribed. 👍😃
Best way to slim the midsection is to avoid anything tight and use A line or peplum silhouette to create illusion of a waist.
I recently purchased the cable knit bulky long sweater and don’t know how to style it. I am also petite so doesn’t help. I might have to exchange and get a shorter one. Thanks for the tip
Awesome thanks for sharing Ms #PetiteDressing.
You are so cute! Love volume strategy.
Love your tips🥰
My entire body screams VOLUME!!
Love your videos. Thank you for the great information
The loose cardigan and pants outfit looks amazing to be honest. Effortless chic
Thanks for sharing, Tigana!
Love these videos. Thank you!
Thank you for your tips.🥰
Glad you find it helpful Mary!
Sweaters are so oversized this year, I ordered one or two sizes down and they still swamp me.
Have you tried tucking some of the front?
I've found I've had to order 3 sizes down. I always buy short/slightly cropped jumpers (if not cropped I tuck or fold) and roll up sleeves.
Thanks for your great tips. I love the tan suede boots with the black heel. What brand are they so I can order them. I have a really hard time finding boots that fit a petite girl like me. :)
The tank boots were from last year Linea Paolo. I hear you- it takes forever to find the right boots for petites!
@@PetiteDressing See, I'm not the only one who has asked this question. You look so great in those boots!
Nice channel, keep up the hard work!
This was so helpful!
I have quite a large bust, so when I wear shorter coats I look very bulky at the top. And longer coats kinda make me look short and hide my hourglass curves
They are hard to find, but I bet you’d like a single breasted fit and flare style coat in a petite size. Most come with a belt that sits slightly above your natural waistline, which flatters us hourglass girls by drawing attention to the waist. Try Via Spiga. I’ve seen Chi in that style coat in another video.
