"It is not a color It is the bases of all colors It is not a complexion It is a reflection Of all complexions called human And out of this Blackness Passion flows like a river"
I still don't understand how 2023 was the 50th anniversary of Rap. I was listening to these guys as a youngster living in West Philly in the late 60's. I remember a song of theirs called "On the Subway" and another song called "Niggers Are Scared of Revolution". I played that last song for my youngsters, and they're like "really Dad?" I also remember Gill Scott Heron "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" and that came out before 1973! Perhaps the definition of Rap is different from what I was 1st introduced to in the late 60's....!
Right there...with you....Great Times as a Sophmore in High School. Had been listening to them for a couple years by then. We had Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson also. Amazing Content
Was introduced to this song by my former tutor, (thanks). The lyric gave me food for thought, it tells me that we are powerful a African nation, the salt of the earth, we should never give up the fight to achieve our aspirations despite the obstacles we face, keep marching forward, but remember not to hurt anyone as you move forward because it will come back and bit you in the butt, etc.
Black is sound ,rhythm many enjoy our song but they don't hear our blues .Black is melanted, meditation, it is endless like the universe blk is always n forever.
Damn........This brings tears to my eyes. Black...... is me! A man of pure carbon! A man that is composed of all that the universe has to offer!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 This is refreshingly uplifting. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤟🏿🤟🏿🤟🏿🤟🏿🤟🏿🤟🏿
Wonderful message to the earth. If there was a little more understanding of one another, what a beautiful world we could live in. Thank you so much for sharing. Are there any more poetry this poet has, if so , please send them to me. Thank you.
The ONLY RAP music I can handle ! Love these cats and I am white but wish the world would get it's "s-ht" together...Namaste ( wear your covid mask people we gotta get rid of 1 source of oppression) Z.
@@ompiba Hello, I'm the woman who only digs Rap, in the form of The Last Poets- you replied I'm missing out on alot of great music- so, sincerely WHO should I check out? I love music and open to suggestions- Namaste
@@MSYNGWIE12Tupac is a rap artist I'd recommend, if I may. His early catalog was heavy on revolutionary philosophy due to his upbringing around the Black Panthers, and a lot of his music has a conscious tone to it. A few personal favorites I'd suggest are "Brenda's Got A Baby", "Holler If You Hear Me", "Dear Mama", and "So Many Tears." You might not become a fan (which is perfectly fine), but it seems you may be open-minded enough to appreciate some of his artistry.
Your right because we stand so so ignorant to the truth of the truth that we can't see the truth and we need so many people the speaking the truth 3D shoot across to us as the people the chosen people oh wow I said why because when I was trying to save the people of yahshua somehow this this page would not allow me to say the people of yahshua this is so beautiful and so powerful they need to be spokes to all our sisters and brothers because this time first to hear the truth and love and embrace one another

More division............
A bit corny to see these opposites juxtaposed: a formal non funky band and a message of black social cause. Antiseptic!
