    What’s the issue, are you nervous ?
    Do you think it makes you look smart ?
    Or do you think we don’t understand what you’re saying so we need sign language too ?
    It’s annoying to watch and a terrible distraction to the information you’re trying to convey.

    I own dozens of blades, some Avanti, Freud, dewalt, milwaukee, forrest, and CMT. Unless your running a cabinet shop Freud Diablo blades are by far the best bang for the buck, everything else is junk or too high performance (expensive) to notice any difference on a portable saw.

    That new push stick is bad because it flexes. You can see at 6:22 when you put downwards pressure, the small piece of wood moves forward slightly before the cut. Then after the cut when you release, it moves backward and leaves a visible gap from where the blade originally was 6:29

    Great honest video with practical application of things that most will actually use. Sometimes I think some of these channels just teaches you to make jigs just to make the jigs with all the tools and get no real work done. Simple is better. Will give the CMT a go. Diablo's are cheap but their teeth are very fragile. I do want to add that a quality mitre saw does help, but avoid the sliders unless you actually need a slider. A simple 150 USD makita 10" single bevel will do vast majority of the work you would ever need. Less things to wobble, less things to adjust. 27 lbs of workhorse that you can take anywhere.

    • @wittworks
      @wittworks  Год назад +1

      @@wittworks I love these things. You can often pick these up for 50 bucks. I just put different blades in different saws because of how cheap they are. Goes up to a 5 1/4 at the base (with a shim on bottom will do 2x6) for most daily work construction to fine furniture.

    I live in Sri Lanka and I got a $100 miter saw (DongCheng) pretty certain that the company was cost cutting so they just gave a solid piece of plastic with no count outs. It basically was a factory zero clearance insert. And for that price the miter feature is accurate but the bevel feature is meh. I never use it cause I don’t trust the poorly pasted sticker. Also came dead square out of the box

    The most dangerous thing in the kitchen is a full blade. This is true for saw blades, duller blades are dangerous for a variety of reasons such as catching on a knot, pinching, pulling, pressing, etc. A sharp blade will cut through something, a dull blade might get caught on it and send it flying. It can happen in both situations, but a lot less with sharp blades.

    I like your videos, and the good information therein. however, I think you might have waited a little too long to reveal the "joke" about those two stop blocks. A lot of people probably won't sit through all that and simply won't buy them. Not a service to JKM or Tamar; I'd be irked if I was one of them. In fact, I can't afford either of those stop blocks, and I'm still irked.

    Love your stuff and I just subscribed. But, think about it. On a miter saw the blade, if used as directed, cuts up through the bottom of the wood. No fibers are pushed toward your zero-clearance magic yellow tape. So, no fibers are unsupported even without your tape, or walnut, or babinga.

    The zero clearance tape you are using is exactly like conspicuity tape, just a different color and On amazon lots cheaper. That is what I use. You are right the lasers really don't work, and the Aux fence is a great idea, However a shadow line is easy to make and is perfect. So you are comparing a 5 year old trash blade to a new CMT blade? Hell a new carbide anything would look great next to the old one, Kind of dishonest there Dude.

    By the way...I hate my Forest Woodworker's II blade. It burns on cherry and maple. A Freud or CMT blade doesn't. Good tip about the zero clearance tape. Couldn't I just use wide double sided tape or duct tape?

    • @wittworks
      @wittworks  Год назад

      Good info.
      I think you could use anything. This stuff is surprisingly hard and the adhesive is very strong.

    • @aspees
      @aspees Год назад +1

      The Forrest blades have zero side clearance. They scrape the surface of your work. If you don't have the fence setup correctly or use the blade on a table saw with too much runout you will get burning. The CMT/Freud blades are nothing special. They won't burn because they have side clearance. But they won't give you as good a finish. Point being don't blame the blade. The idea that they are as good as a Forrest is absurd. The carbide sharpness in a Woodworker 2 will outlast a Freud by way more than double.

    • @MarkSWilliams27
      @MarkSWilliams27 Год назад

      @@aspees Hi Adam, I have a perfectly set up 3 hp Delta Unisaw: fence and blade alignment. So, I doubt runout or setup is the issue. And, assuming the saw and fence were not properly set up wouldn't it also follow that the "lesser" quality blades would burn even worse than the Forest?
      That said, I do feel the carbide of my Forest is probably better quality than my Freud blades. And yes, I totally agree they give you a smoother cut. But the blasted thing still burns cherry and maple. And I have to break out a card scraper. I asked Forest about this when the blade was new and they admitted this and suggested I raise the blade height way up. Hmmm....I don't know about that. If you are happy with yours, then fine. Glad you are getting good results. But for $150 or whatever the Forest Woodworker II costs now --- I'll take a good Freud, CMT, or Amana and pocket the rest of the money.

    • @aspees
      @aspees Год назад

      @@MarkSWilliams27 Cherry is notorious for burning. The Forrest guys recommend raising the blade because it keeps the blade cooler. They should have told you to increase the feed rate. Most people feed too slow when using table saws. I would not choose the WW2 when cutting cherry. It is the wrong blade. I own all of the brands you’ve mentioned. They are all decent blades. They do not make a blade as good as the Chopmaster. Period. End of story. As far as cost. The cost difference is up front. After that each sharpening costs the same. Overtime the Forrest blades cost less, because they stay sharp longer.

    if you do a router safety video i wouldnt suggest using the footage from this video... thankfully i only lost 7 minutes of my life watching this video as opposed to the hundreds of dollars you just told us to spend on fancy stop block tape instead of masking tape, ca glue and activator as upposed to putting screws thru the backside of our fence like the rest of the world has done for years... a fancy stop block instead of clamping wood to your fence, a new 100 dollar saw blade because (that one is sharpenable). and a stupid ten million dollar stick instead of just using a push stick or a piece of wood... i hope this advertisement you just did pays off... i however dont find you as a credible craftsman if all your trying to do is sell people nonsense.
