I’d say that in order to truly love others we NEED to understand them and if they are to love us truly, they need to understand us.
With mutual understanding, we can empathize, have compassion for each other; we can begin to trust each other more, share even more deeply and respect each other and each other’s life experiences. We can then be inspired to do and say certain things that contribute to our beloveds well-being and increased happiness/quality of life.
I always thought Scorpio's love language was physical touch. And no, I don't mean (just) sexually. I mean like hugs, hand holding, a caress on the cheek, or a massage.
As an Aquarius, I feel most loved when treated as a friend. We value loyalty and honesty. Knowing someone's got your back is a wonderful feeling. If we aren't friends, we can't be anything else.

Am a pisces and yes, even am the girl I'm willing to spend my money for my partner. But at the same time i feel taking advantage of but being aware of all that, i can't just stop. From a fellow Virgo, don’t be too hard on yourself (we probably been told many times, but we shouldn’t 😅) and I was lucky to find a Scorpio in my life to where we almost actually dated. If it would’ve went further I think we probably would’ve married, but it didn’t work out sadly and I just hope to find another like her.

He thinks being together every weekend (Saturdays) is equal to living together, I think not. I've been in a 10 year relationship before and a 5 year one. He has not been in a long term relationship before. We have a different opinion and I told him it won't work because we want different things. He doesn't believe me though, I can show better than tell.
I think some of this is inaccurate because love and emotions are based on your venus and moon sign. I'm an Aries sun capricorn moon and venus in Taurus. I attract independent venus aries men which leaves me needing more emotional connection. I'm not the typical overly independent and space loving Aries. I love doing things together and a partner can't be too close. I always want more time and love.

But this applies to Aries too - we're a very "physical" sign, very demonstrative & we feel loved when there's a lot of hugging & touching. Unfortunately, i've never been able to get that from any of my relationships, so i never felt loved; even if my partner spent money on me, on gifts
