Loved the video. I find Saint Thomas Aquinas to be by far more practical and influential than his predecessor was when it comes to dealing with the intellectual world. Your video was very insightful. Thank you for posting this information.
Keep doing videos like this💖 This video has a big contribution for me because I was selected by my teacher to explain to my classmates in virtual class about significant information about St. Augustine and suddenly I acquired knowledge the conflict theory between the idea of St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas. 💖 Thank you 💖💖💖 No I am well prepared to explain my assigned work.
The suggested reference is a nice touch. Will be using it for sure. Two of my favorite thinkers in the video. Aquinas more than Augustine, but I don't think I've ever disagreed with something they both agree on...
Augustine did not believe in the predestination that is often though of today. He believed that God had foreknowledge of who was saved and not and implemented his providence accordingly, he did not believe that God chose and separated man into two groups. See Augustine on his anti-pelagian writings. Here he makes clear the ability of man to be sanctified by his own will on their pilgrimage to the City of God.
I feel like if you just pick up a bible and talk about it amongst others you will have the same knowledge as the philosophers in those times. THAT IS what inspired them to gain these beliefs and thoughts... The Holy Bible.
Well done. It's a shame most people don't seem to be curious about this and therefore are missing out.

Excellent. However, he is in error regarding Augustine on predestination.
Where did you get the idea that Augustine believed that any man was predestined to damnation?
Great
Here in 2020... Augustine's warnings considered

St Augustine was right. The further we fall away from Christianity the further we will descend into chaos.

Augustine, wasn't he the joker that pronounced that the world was flat? Thus setting back science by some 1,300 years.
no
In light of today’s politics, it seems Augustine May have been more right than wrong, and Aquinas more wrong than right? 😂
and yet here you are expressing your thoughts without concern of censorship
You must be a devotee of another Thomas. Hobbes.
Very good video, but St Agustin did NOT believe in predestination and deffended free will against the teachings of the heretics.
opposite
@@010Bsanders, He believed that freedom of choice is essential to our nature, even if we often get in the weeds over it.
