  • We’re boondocking in Badlands National Park 🏕️ What is boondocking you might ask? Well, it’s just camping in our RV without any electricity, water, or sewer hook ups. So you essentially just have to bring everything you might need to be able to camp in these spots. We brought our Cummins inverter generator-which was definitely needed to power our AC as it was roughly 90 degrees each day we were there ☀️
This spot is approximately 10 miles south of the nearby town of Wall, South Dakota. You can camp right on the edge of Badlands! I read that when it storms, the soil gets very clay-like and lots of folks end up getting stuck. So we had less time than we would’ve liked to at this spot because a huge storm was coming ⛈️
With a couple days at Badlands, here are our MUST-SEEs:
    🥾 Notch Trail, 1.5 miles
    🏞️ White River Overlook
    🍯 Yellow Mounds Overlook
🏰 Pinnacles Overlook (best sunset spot!)
🦖 The Ben Reifel visitor center & their paleontology lab
🌌 A starry night (sometimes there are even rangers with telescopes at the Cedar Pass campground so check the NPS website!)

    ABOUT US 👋😄
We’re Gracen and Austin and we’re in our twenties living on the road full time. We share an RV with our dog, Bae, and our orange cat, Keke. This lifestyle definitely keeps you on your toes-and we’re excited to live it and share it with you as we roll along! With an RV, we’re able to see so many beautiful places while having our home and our pets with us.
We love crossing national parks off our list, hiking, kayaking, photography, and pretty much anything outdoors! Follow along if you like these things too and we can be friends!
